Just going to repost this here in the main thread. I know people are concerned about the latency issues. I just want to say that we are too.
There are a ton of variables that need to be taken into consideration, when you have a problem such as this that's affecting certain players than others. You look over demographics. Are all the players experiencing latency issues exclusively from one region? No, it's more generalized? Ok, next route of questioning. Is it failed routing through a switch that's mismanaging certain networking? Yay or nay?
If it's as simple of an ah-ha moment, the team usually catches it within an hour or so from the point of entry. This is where we see a whole lot of failed maps specific to an event and go "that's a pattern!" This is where we see that for some reason one of the Boston routers is glowing red and hissing at us.
If it's not one of those, it's usually a more nebulous problem that requires more time before we can find the solution. Are we still looking though?
You're damn right we are.
Ty for this reply, it's important for us to know you guys are working on the problem I hope in a quick resolution, because now playing is very frustrating, especially in private STFs and PvP
Don't worry I am sure PWE has interviews scheduled to replace the hamsters they fired. Fix incoming they went to the pet store and found a lab rat for half price and will put them in the hamster wheel any moment now.
Sunny Southern California (USA) - and the problems I've described in previous posts - the most annoying being the Blank launcher with "Loading Please Wait..." on a Black background and no further load up progression began on Tues. 4/7 post patch.
And when it occurs it occurs across all 3 Cryptic MMOs if I try to launch NW or CO.

I have been experiencing the same Server not responding message for a long time now. Since Delta Recruit is was fine till the Tuesday following release of it emergency patch, I would get loading...please wait...as well. But still getting the Server Not Responding. It happens most of the time while trying to work on my Delta Recruit (not that that has anything to do with it) sometimes I will be just sitting and talking. I am rather new to the game and a sub since 2 weeks into my coming here from past mmo. I like this game alot, it has things most other games don't have idk what it is but just something about space combat that is amazingly fun imo. But I understand the MMO business is a pain in the butt. Thank you for the great game, I will continue to enjoy this game, and hope the engineers can figure this out.
The following tool will display a traceroute (how the data flows from your pc to the game server) and respons times from the systems along the path (shows hickups).

Appreciate the work that goes into it. I hope at some point, expanding to larger and/or more servers will come, as capacity seemed to be an issue last weekend.
I'm in Ontario, Canada. I don't get lag often, but I do get "server not responding" every now and then. Particularly, got that a lot this week during the midnight to 5-6am EST time, usually lasting upwards of 125-150 seconds and mostly when trying to jump zones. I had to restart the client a few times, when I'd get hung up trying to zone.
Only other time I get any major lag (& occassionally rubberbanding) are when we get big updates like the anniversary event. Again, seems like a server capacity issue on that note.
Oh, and pretty much any red alert or PVE is a lagfest with a lot of rubberbanding. I get that even worse on the tholian red alert in Tau Dewa.
Hope this helps in some way.

Somehow you are avoiding cogent, probably why you aren't having problems...
Well, you got the launcher patch fixed, now it sits at the loading screen and does nothing. I can stare at the Delta Rising logo for just so long before giving up. So far its been 20 minutes. Done.

Just for posterity's sake, has anyone who's been unable to load tried it in safe mode? If not, couldn't hurt to try.

Thank you for acknowledging that there are latency issues. Part of my main gripe with that is that I've not seen a lot of communication from Cryptic's end -- which gives me the impression they either do not think there is a problem, or the problem lies with the players.
In either scenario, it gives me some peace of mind that players don't need to keep obsessing over something that is ultimately out of their hands. I'm not saying they should stop providing tracerts and other diagnostics to Cryptic, just that they can stop getting irritated because Cryptic seems to think it's on their side of things, or just does not exist at all and things are business as usual.

My server/login issues today started around 1630 PST. Well, the ones severe enough for me to post about.
[EDIT] Seems to have cleared for now. Still getting lag and occasional rubberbanding, but no longer unplayable after taking a day off. Keep up the hard work folks.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
Thank you for acknowledging that there are latency issues. Part of my main gripe with that is that I've not seen a lot of communication from Cryptic's end -- which gives me the impression they either do not think there is a problem, or the problem lies with the players.

Yeah, we're still working to resolve this issue. It's affecting all Cryptic titles, so it's not something that's purely affecting STO. It's something that's a little more widespread that we're looking into with as many people as we can to get to the bottom of it.
There's a fine delicate line between posting constantly with "Hey guys, still looking into it. No word back yet!" and utter silence. I don't want to spam you every 30 minutes or few hours with fluff responses, but I don't want to go silent and think it's suddenly off the radar. It very much is something we've been looking into and will look into until we get a resolution.
Just got disconnected from the Login server and can't get back in. I tried from the actual client log in screen and could get a response from the account server - but either would get "Login Server Timed out' - or get to the character list; but no character would complete it's 'Loading' phase to progress further - and I would get disconnected from the Login server and dropped to the login screen again.

For the first time in a while, I'm rubberbanding everywhere, not just certain STFs or in ESD as per normal. I just finished with rubberbanding my way through Of Bajor, that was fun (not)
It's good to know the team's on it, though. Not much more that can be done from the players' end other than wait.
Of course Trendy, those of us in the player base who have networking knowledge and/or experience understand it's a process that takes time. It is, however, extremely frustrating, and PWE and Cryptic should be willing to listen to and understand our complaints.
the fact that cardassian keldon classships are near to impossible unless you have a close respawn spot, op ship your self which if your broke you cant get, and unless you have strong special ship equip stuff. The game needs to make it where there are either closer respawn point or fix those classes opedness.
I'm a U-verse ATT user here, and it's 830 am est in the morning and it's still an issue going on. So, I don't know. I think I might take a few days off till things get ironed out (hopefully).

I have a high score of (350.00)! Beat that!
Current score is (150.00) while sitting at the exchange on DS9.
(In middle america, near a farm in Iowa. Sent ping results days ago in a ticket. Still cannot play for about a week, losing hope quickly.)
And when it occurs it occurs across all 3 Cryptic MMOs if I try to launch NW or CO.

Just for posterity's sake, has anyone who's been unable to load tried it in safe mode? If not, couldn't hurt to try.
Glad you guys are looking into the issues still. Thought I'd post my traceroute and other information.

Above traceroute is the worst that I have seen. Typically the worst it gets is 39ms at tops.
I see lag as in the videos in my signature. And while there are just a few there posted, that is how everything is for me.

My speedtest. net from FL to San Jose is 17.54 mbps

My server/login issues today started around 1630 PST. Well, the ones severe enough for me to post about.
[EDIT] Seems to have cleared for now. Still getting lag and occasional rubberbanding, but no longer unplayable after taking a day off. Keep up the hard work folks.

I'm on Comcast Business, so to the first no. As for Cogent, I can't say. I get fast times through to it and yet I still lag in everything I do.

PWE ARC Drone says: "Your STO forum community as you have known it is ended...Display names are irrelevant...Any further sense of community is irrelevant...Resistance is futile...You will be assimilated..."
It's good to know the team's on it, though. Not much more that can be done from the players' end other than wait.
Of course Trendy, those of us in the player base who have networking knowledge and/or experience understand it's a process that takes time. It is, however, extremely frustrating, and PWE and Cryptic should be willing to listen to and understand our complaints.
