    I have a vague feeling this was actually Dr. Mark Piper, to Captain Pike, in the original series pilot episode. But I could be wrong.

    i cant find any official on screen mention of this. and from what i have dug up suggests it wasnt a "nightlight" but a "light bulb" and that it was quoted from Robert Picardo for his audition for ST Voyager. does that count not being on screen?
