I can play for a few minutes, or a few hours before i get this crash happening. I have tried everything to stop it, but seems nothing works, so i am presuming this is a game issue, and not my end, as this only started with the patch on 04th dec 2014. It doesnt even seem to collect data about the crash to be able to send it in for analysis.
I use Arc, i tried loading game thinking it might be an arc issue, but still crashes.
Tried, going to windowed mode and full screen, adjusting graphics, running as admin,etc,etc,etc. nothing works.
Edit, have tried virus scan of whole computer, defragging hdd, disk clean up, that has also done nothing for me

I've been having the same exact issue. It only started recently (within the last few weeks) and seems to occur when there's a lot of action going on (such as space battlezone or during the christmas 'tides of ice' event). Sometimes, however, it happens when i'm changing zones.
The amount of time played doesn't seem to matter. I can go an hour or 2 without a crash but sometimes it happens within minutes. It's definitely getting annoying. I don't use arc so i doubt that's causing a problem.

System (Xeon 1231, 8 GB Ram, GTX 750 Ti) is up to date (Drivers, ...), no issues in any other game or application. Settings are on max. No USB-headset.

Crashed: 16:30 MT
I'm having this happen as well, and it's making the game entirely unplayable. I crashed after getting into a bug hunt advanced, got back into the game (same BHA even) and it crashed again on me. This is really frustrating given that it's happening DURING a timed event where i need to be able to log in and play each day. I can't even tell you how many times i've been screwed out of a reward due to the random crashing.
It happens on all of my characters. It's seems completely random as well as when too many things are on screen. Most times, there isn't a crash message or anything, once or twice i get the .EXE stopped working message, but mostly it just ends suddenly.
This is the only game that does it too, which is really frustrating. I'm running Dragon Age: Inqusition on ultra with no issues, so why a game like STO is suddenly unable to stand, is beyond me. This has only been happening since yesterday for me though. It's just happening a LOT...
might find some help there or similar sites.
I recommend trying steps
1,3,5...9 first. If none of those help, the more extreme ones like replacing cables or reinstalling windows etc can be tried, but I recommend doing another search for additional software solutions before blowing a week to reinstall everything or buying cables and other such.
its likely one of a couple of things. Its could be a bug in STO that trips under certain hardware setups. It could be a bug in STO that trips with certain drivers. It could be a small # of people have issues unrelated to STO that manifest when the game runs --- bad driver, period, or bad hardware, or screwy TSR programs, etc.

Reinstall the program if the ntdll.dll error only displays when you use a specific program.
If the software program has any updates or service packs available, install them too. The software's programmers may have identified an issue with the program that caused the ntdll.dll error and then issued a patch for it.
Note: Third party software programs that have been installed on your computer are almost always the cause of ntdll.dll errors. The remainder of these troubleshooting steps resolve ntdll.dll issues only rarely.
As a systems tech/engineer in corporate IT, i concur with the above issue ...
The bug is introduced in either the dec 4 or 5 update, and since its reported outside winterland as well, and happens when alot of player activity is active on screen (bossfights) , there is not much the players can do to avoid it on their machines, this needs to be fixxed by the dev's in a update.
I am not a fan of reinstalling stuff. It works sometimes, but 99% of the time, it just burns your hard disk and wastes your time. If you have a corrupted file, *why* do you have a corrupted file? It just does not happen often on modern PCs and when it does, even if a reinstall fixes it, the issue behind the issue remains.... if your disk is going bad, for example, it might work but your disk is still failing... in my 30+ years as a software guy I have reinstalled windows maybe twice, when all hope was truly gone ... and that was win 95, which simply had serious stability problems and was badly broken for its entire lifespan.
I do agree that there may be an issue with STO bugs interacting with this DLL improperly. Nothing WE can do will FIX that... well, unless you want to try a hex editor and a decompiler. Reinstalling STO won't fix a bug ... its pointless.

The crashing needs to be fixed by the devs, simple. Besides, i already tried everything in graphics options, and nothing helped, still crashes on me, as i stated in very first post

I dunno. Give the soft / easy fixes for Ntdll a try, but I doubt it works. And keep reporting it... there is very likely a common feature between the systems having this issue. I cant spot it in the dumps provided, so far.

Thats something i know nothing about. If i try it, im bound to break something. Im ok with fiddling around with computers, building them and that, but when it comes to software issues, i dont touch lol

Hey all I noticed this too, since that patch, my game never crashed before. I updated my graphic card, no affect still crashed.
I loaded up STO, I went to the Graphic options and selected restore defaults for all settings. And it has never happened again for me.

One or both of them seem to have done the trick for me so might be worth if anyone else is having this problem trying a force verify of the game files and see if that solves peoples problems.

Only on the winter event map ... nowhere else (yet).
Had this about 12x now .... annoyingly ... always when the boss spawns (snowverlord and queen have triggered it)

It happens on all of my characters. It's seems completely random as well as when too many things are on screen. Most times, there isn't a crash message or anything, once or twice i get the .EXE stopped working message, but mostly it just ends suddenly.
This is the only game that does it too, which is really frustrating. I'm running Dragon Age: Inqusition on ultra with no issues, so why a game like STO is suddenly unable to stand, is beyond me. This has only been happening since yesterday for me though. It's just happening a LOT...

I recommend trying steps
1,3,5...9 first. If none of those help, the more extreme ones like replacing cables or reinstalling windows etc can be tried, but I recommend doing another search for additional software solutions before blowing a week to reinstall everything or buying cables and other such.
its likely one of a couple of things. Its could be a bug in STO that trips under certain hardware setups. It could be a bug in STO that trips with certain drivers. It could be a small # of people have issues unrelated to STO that manifest when the game runs --- bad driver, period, or bad hardware, or screwy TSR programs, etc.
Reinstall the program if the ntdll.dll error only displays when you use a specific program.
If the software program has any updates or service packs available, install them too. The software's programmers may have identified an issue with the program that caused the ntdll.dll error and then issued a patch for it.
Note: Third party software programs that have been installed on your computer are almost always the cause of ntdll.dll errors. The remainder of these troubleshooting steps resolve ntdll.dll issues only rarely.
As a systems tech/engineer in corporate IT, i concur with the above issue ...
The bug is introduced in either the dec 4 or 5 update, and since its reported outside winterland as well, and happens when alot of player activity is active on screen (bossfights) , there is not much the players can do to avoid it on their machines, this needs to be fixxed by the dev's in a update.
I do agree that there may be an issue with STO bugs interacting with this DLL improperly. Nothing WE can do will FIX that... well, unless you want to try a hex editor and a decompiler. Reinstalling STO won't fix a bug ... its pointless.
Kinda reminds of the vanishing act of effects, how a lot of people were telling the devs to cut everyones weapons fire off and give us only 1 visual, essentially, killing the immersion of the game...Which brings me to this, i will NOT disable shadows, post processing or any other effect because my machine can handle anything that is thrown at it. The crashing needs to be fixed by the devs, simple. Besides, i already tried everything in graphics options, and nothing helped, still crashes on me, as i stated in very first post

You have to understand that to fix it, they have to replicate it. And every PC is unique ... everyone has a different graphics card, OS, motherboard, and so on. The majority of people don't have this issue. There is some common theme here between these systems, but what is it, and how do you fix it?
You can't even prove 100% that sto is the root cause. It *very* probably is, but we can't even make that claim with 100% certainty.

I dunno. Give the soft / easy fixes for Ntdll a try, but I doubt it works. And keep reporting it... there is very likely a common feature between the systems having this issue. I cant spot it in the dumps provided, so far.
Thats something i know nothing about. If i try it, im bound to break something. Im ok with fiddling around with computers, building them and that, but when it comes to software issues, i dont touch lol

Been having the problem since last weeks patch
I loaded up STO, I went to the Graphic options and selected restore defaults for all settings. And it has never happened again for me.

Only things that have changed is this weeks patches (which didn't mention any fixes so I'm assuming that's not what's solved it) and I did a force verify on the game via the launcher.
One or both of them seem to have done the trick for me so might be worth if anyone else is having this problem trying a force verify of the game files and see if that solves peoples problems.
Tried it, didnt work. As i said in firstpost, tried everything, nothing works, same as resetting graphics to defaults
