With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.

They're just spouting trendy taglines that trolls invented to insult the devs.
I'm going to correct a mistake you are perpetuating here, just because I think you actually aren't aware that you are doing it. Whether it changes your views a little is up to you.
We did not create this tagline. This particular line "Delta Rising is the best expansion ever" was spoken by a dev (Geko) in a recent podcast interview. He then repeated the line and added "and the players love it".
At no time was there evidence of us loving it, nor believable proof that it was the best expansion ever. Geko was also quoted as saying that the expansion is not as good as LoR in terms of new players brought in, or money spent, but it was better in terms of the amount of time an existing player was spending in game.
You can read that last paragraph however you want but I, and others, read it that those of us long-term players are grinding longer and harder to level since rewards and XP got nerfed.
We are not making this stuff up, but we are running with what the devs give us.
Personally, I love Smirk, Trendy, Tacofangs, crypticfrost and so many other devs that come into these forums. They are funny, beguiling, mysterious, intelligent and stoic. Won't stop me making memes for the one I find belittling, rude, arrogant and downright belligerent.
In the last month alone, btw, I bought the Ops pack and went lifetime (from subbing monthly). Delta Rising did that. It's the best expansion ever and I love it

Won't stop me making memes for the one I find belittling, rude, arrogant and downright belligerent.
Personally, I don't do them out of spite even: I just think memes are fun. They are, IMHO, just a harmless way of poking a bit of fun at some words spoken, and a healthy way to vent, without actually getting nasty.
And, like I said, I'm fairly certain a lot of Devs got a good chuckle out of these as well.
Here are some of my latest creations i'd like to share with you guys, i hope you like it.
In fact it's the only entertaining thing to do related with STO, lol.:D:D:D
"...'With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured...the first thought forbidden...the first freedom denied--chains us all irrevocably.' ... The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged. I fear that today--"
- (TNG) Picard, quoting Judge Aaron Satie
Translation: "Yes I swore at that man, but I'm not a vulgar person because he swore at me first and f*k you for accusing me."
interesting how you ignore everything else to focus on that...and even get THAT wrong. that's the problem with apologists. incapable of rational thought but fully capable of rationalized thought. yes, there is a difference. as i said, you'd get along well at cryptic they are fully capable of rationalized thought as well.
case in point
delta rising is the best expansion ever and the players love it.
there's no modifiers in that such as some of the players love it...or a few of the players love it...or most accurately it's ok but needs WORK. the concept is fine as was the R&D concept...implementation on the other hand is mind boggling bad.
no amount of rational thought could turn any of that into an overwhelming positive as geko's statement claims.
rationalized thought though, yeah, people can rationalize anything to make it seem good for themselves.
final point. respect is not a given, it's earned. you do not deserve anymore respect than anyone else until your actions show otherwise. cryptics actions over the years speak for themselves in how they communicate with the players, how well they listen, how they react, and by what they implement in game.
they have shown they have ZERO respect for their player base. and YET players put up with it and have for YEARS. you come in with your sycophantic diatribes demanding cryptic should be treated in a way they do not treat their consumers is double facepalm worthy. what? you would let some guy rob your house repeatedly because it's the respectful thing to do?
some con man steal your identity and turn the other cheek? a 'friend' consistently lie to you and take advantage of you and you would do nothing but accept it? cryptic relies on their consumers, without players they have NOTHING. and they don't even have the freaking sense to see THAT simple truth.
nothing breaches their wall of rationalization...this thread won't, complaints won't no matter how nicely or insultingly worded they may be. like attempting to talk sense to you, as long as you continue to live in your own little rationalized world much like cryptic it's an absolute waste of time.
but...like cryptic, for the posters in this thread...there is hope that something said might breach that (for those not here just for the funny). that is also what this thread is about. a way for many to stay somewhat involved in a game they like/love...hoping that eventually something may get through. that cryptic may realize there are other, better ways of doing things. they may not be as immediately profitable as what they've done previously sucking on the dilithiium/new ship teat.

Truth be told I wanted to use Lloyd Bridges, but I couldn't think of a way to twist his dialogue - and him sniffing glue is probably cutting close to the line.
