So...yeah....I did enjoy DR. I am being serious! That was till they made it EASY and quicker to level (which was what they weren't supposed to be doing)!!! Shall I run now!?

Lol. Seriously, not trolling. If you look at the 'missions' objectively, from a Role-Play point of view, those are exactly what you would expect as assignments from Starfleet. Patrols and exploration would really be the daily grind. Space is vast and mostly empty indeed. Just be thankful you don't have to sit there for hours on end waiting (and begging) for action!
I welcomed the pace being slowed down. Levelling to max with a month of 4 hour game-play days was way too fast. They said "levelling to 60 from level 50 should take the average player a month" in Cryptic's estimations. Now you can do it in a week, again with 4 hour sessions. That's a real let-down.
Although I do like the new upgrading system to a point, I do disagree with having to pay 1k Dil for each XP upgrade. It really should only be when upgrading the actual level. Dil is way too scarce if not paying Zen for it, especially when trying to save it for Rep or Fleet Projects. The only saving grace however, is the fact the upgrade system can bypass having to acquire the VR elements and components needed to make equipment from scratch.
As for the increased difficulty of the enemy....if players who regularly dominate PvP or have uber-DPS or uber tanks can have all the glory, why can't they accept rock-hard NPC's. No game should be an easy walk-thorough. For me, challenging powerful NPC's are what the game needed. It's way more satisfying than finishing them off in less than 10 seconds! To quote Picard "Maybe we needed a kick in our complacency" after the first encounter with the Borg. Although you can't lose your ship, the very threat of destruction against a seriously over-powered enemy helps you to grow and adapt your own strategies, and it is something that is lacking in STO. Look at the Borg in-game now. They only 'adapt' in Ground STF's, whilst in Space STF's they are way too easy to beat in low numbers, no adaptation to weaponry and, with only Hive Onslaught Adv and Elite being challenging to inexperienced players.
At the end of the day, no game will ever be perfect for everyone. People complain because they want things changed to make life easier and developers sometimes will bow to them. However, I'd have no issue with them turning round and saying 'no, live with it', just like we do in real-life! This game isn't 'Farmville' and should never be so. If it's to emulate Star Trek, it should include all the downs also!!

Personally, I don't do them out of spite even: I just think memes are fun. They are, IMHO, just a harmless way of poking a bit of fun at some words spoken, and a healthy way to vent, without actually getting nasty.
And, like I said, I'm fairly certain a lot of Devs got a good chuckle out of these as well.
Same here, Meimei. I'm poking fun, yes, but it's done with a feather duster. I come to this thread for some chuckles before I play the game then check it again after I am done. It's become my favorite "patrol."

I spend so little time the Delta Quadrant that I can honestly say, Delta Rising is the best expansion I have not played ever and I love it when I keep playing the things I always did before instead of grinding Argala. What I have played of the story missions, they were nicely written.
I thought the crafting was great until I hit a point where to make the best items, I either need to spend hundreds of millions in the exchange or open boxes to get the doffs required to make them. The next severe letdown was the fact that some of the reputation gear costs more to upgrade from XII to XIV than a T5 dilitium bought ship. So most likely, you won't be seeing me in STF because I will still be flying XII and XIII weapons with XII reputation consoles. I'm sure that just one regular queue pilot missing won't hurt the queues any, right?
The increase in enemy difficulty was able to be overcome with a change in tactics. The skill gains for them, however, cannot be overcome. I can level as effectively staying in Alpha and augmenting with doff missions.
So, again I can say with that Delta Rising is the best expansion ever for someone else maybe and I love not playing it. The key to enjoying the game is not in making it into "Farmville." It's in not playing the content in that irritates you. The borg might not adapt in space but this Trill did.
Legacy of Romulus had "The Order of Persistence" thread. Camaraderie was fostered and friends were made. A chat channel was made in game for all Persistent Officers and we shared a few weeks of being unable to even get into the game, let alone play it. Many of us are still here because we love the game. But we created little "nods" and "winks" to recognise another PO in-game as a form of bonding.
Delta Rising has "Delta Rising is the BEST expansion EVER and players LOVE it". We are fostering creativity, friendship and fun in this thread and I expect it to last for a good while yet. Maybe the thread fades away and dies a natural death before the end of WW... maybe it doesn't.
One thing is certain. Come rain, sleet, hail, ice, snow, hate, troll, borg or Q we will continue to love these moments and memes.

You're 100% missing the point of what a grind is, Going on patrol in, say, Argala, would be a natural task for Starfleet, sure. Going it 3,000x times is a row, however, would be considered lunacy -- as it would in the rest of the world.

From my experience in Delta Rising, It is not worth doing any of it till you have reached level 59 at the earliest. I have characters that I am going back and running all the original missions on. fortunately most of these only completed 4 or 5 missions, then leveled with Doffing. these are level 50 characters.
One finished all the mission and started DR at level 54, completed ALL the DR content that was available plus doffing plus patrols plus STFs He is BARELY over level 55 now. I am all for taking some time and not blowing through the content, but that being said, this level of slow is completely ridiculous. Until next time.

I think he mentioned in the description that the "Everything is awesome" song doesn't belong to him and pointed out the owner of the copyrights to the song. I'm not much into on-line YouTube infringement laws, so I wouldn't really know, but isn't that suposed to be enough - especially in regards of the circumistances it was used here?

Agreed. We don't get a dilithium reward for maxing out specialization points any more, so why the hell does Cryptic care how quickly we do it?
Because this way their metrics can convince them that they've added 6 months worth of 'content' to the game. Where in fact all they've done is annoy a lot of players by adding a six month grind... But it's all WAI and the players love it, so no problem here.

Well, the infamy we are garnering for this game is piquing interest in outsiders... either for good or ill.... So, Cryptic's getting new players suckered in either or so... to Cryptic this game is:
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.
