Pet ship console is fail , a pet ship dies in a first explosion. Tested on monbosh and bortasqu pet ships.
2 tactical console slots +6 weapons = fail
sci ship in game where are 95% time about DPS = fail

Yeah WTF are you guys now saying TRIBBLE it we are only selling 2nd deflectors now.

if this is a jab at my reply, yes, we have a right to be a little upset..

way back during the 4th year anniversary, they said that all ships would get it.. infact, it went as far as being said that all sci ships would get it free, and that the deflectors would drop like regular deflectors, and more special ones would be available through rep, and c store.

now it looks like not all sci ships are going to get it (keep in mind this is merely a statement and not fact, but given the track record, and the current deployment of secondary defl. slots) that youll have to pay for it. at least cruiser buffs were free (which secondary deflectors was always tagged as being a boost much like the buffs).

if your not jabbing, than yes, it seems they have pulled the 180 on this as well.. (in my best paris Hilton voice, thats so cryptic...) lol

If you base the performance of Science Vessels by how many TAC Console Slots it has, you have no idea how to play Science.

Welcome to the forums. You must be new here.

That doesn't demonstrate that " they could easily just release it with what they have like all the other ships that are being released with it", nor " if its good enough for the 3 or so ships that have it now, its good enough to be released", nor "they will use it as a selling point on all "new" sci ships". Just because ships have the slots doesn't mean that the secondary deflector items themselves are ready to be released.

wow.. really, you completely missed the whole point of what I was saying.. /facepalm.. you keep reading what you want to read, and ignoring what you don't want to, it doesn't make you right..

what I said, was that each ship should have the slot, so that the few deflectors that are in game can be equipped with it.. even if they are not ready to release an abundance of actual secondary deflectors, they could easily give access to the ones that are currently ingame to the whole science ship community..

the fact that they are not, shows me that they plan to sell the secondary deflector as apposed to doing what they said, which was to release it to all sci vessels..

there are multiple ships in game with it.. there are a few secondary deflectors.. there is no reason my nova class, or other science vessel, shouldn't be able to equip say the solane secondary deflector.

acctually... thats not all entirely true the only secondary deflect that is USEFUL at the moment is the dyson scidestroyers one that if i remember ONLY came from the FREE 4th annivery ship the cstores did not have them the dauntless i believe comes with a POS white secondary deflector.

It is odd, because they made the big deal out of having to redo the ships for T5U and so one would have thought the Sci Vessels would have gotten the slots as part of that...unless that work was done and it's just currently disabled. Which...doesn't make sense with the new ships not having it disabled if that were the case. Yep, yep...fun stuff.

yes, but since you cannot get it free anymore, you can only "buy" the solane ship now.. so now, we have the solane, the dauntless, and the intrepid now.. all that you "currently" have to buy..

I go by what I see since they still have not even updated a few SCI ships with the 2nd defectors, I'm gonna assume that they are just gonna sell new ships with 2nd deflectors.

If it's so time consuming, at least update a few, start with the popular ones, and work down that way people can at lease see it's being worked on.

You are pretty upset over a base assumption that is flawed. They said that the secondary deflector slot will be added to existing ships at a later date. They've confirmed a few times that it's still in the works but would not come until after the expansion. To at this point think that they are only going to put them on a few ships is just baseless fearmongering. Give it time, it'll get here - designing an entirely new item class, test it, balance it, and insert it into item tables.

I read all the posts since 1 up to here and I am shocked in the way most people are complaining and talking about anything else but a structural feedback. Seriously, if you are not "science" orientated player ... what are you doing here in this thread guys? Ugh...

===To the devs: feedback about the t6 intrepid ===

Hello, I am one of the few members in whole STO who is using the Intrepid class since 4 years. I've pushed this little ship to its limits but there was always something lacking, compared to some other ships. The new announcement really made me happy for I see that most of the "intrepid community" calls and opinions were possibly considered and brought online.

    - Boff: In first place, thank you for making the Lt. universal instead the Lt.Cdr. Those that know how to play science ships would praise you for this decision. The reason why the Dauntless didn't got my attention was its critical tactical focus, which for a full science ship is not the right path. Now the Intrepid will hold an excellent Boff layout.
The new combinations are limitless - you can add 2 new tac/engi/intel/+1 sci - abilities while before you had...a single Ensign Sci. Its just wonderful.

    - The secondary deflector was an obvious improvement, considering the dauntless (sci ship with no intel powers like scryer). It was long time waiting for this slight buff, which will only enhance the whole build of the full science ships. I am also hoping for more variants to be generated soon, so we would have more options. :)

    - The Aeroshuttle was expected after the good preview below the saucer of all intrepid. Here I must say its a slight disappointment that the shuttle is not integrated considering the fact this shuttle is part of the ship.
Nevertheless, I am really really happy about it, especially the fact it will be using "science powers" on top of special phasers and possibility of photonic shock wave torpedoes. On top of that it is expected the ship to be classified as "frigate" in game, meaning ~33k hull.
If the above assumption is correct, then this little ship will be a good "opponent" to the Vesta's hangar especially if it can use Gravity Well or something like that. :)

    - The ship trait seems really helpful not only for the user but for the others which are being supported as well. Only if we could get some numbers to see how much Hull we gain but guess this will be released in the upcoming days.
(Considering the name of the trait, it would be just amazing if this temporary hull gains the visual effect of the ablative armor for ANY ship...I am sure all would love it)

    - The set bonus 2 of shield healing and total shield hp are really well tied with the overall performance, masteries and expectations of the science ships. Lets just hope these buffs are above 10%. :)

-The set bonus 3 - It is unclear if the shuttle general torpedoes are going to be transformed in to photonic shackwave versions or the shuttle will fire 1 of the special ones each 2 min (similar to the console). A clarification about this would be most welcome.

Overall conclusion: This ship, no matter what people would say and complain - is very good piece in the collection of those who love the Intrepid. By getting this ship all intrepid captains will gain access to the shuttle (on all versions) on top of a very useful Trait. Also they would be able to lock a good bonus to compensate for the low shield modifier of 1.3.

Disappointments: There were requests like making ablative console toggle or to gain passive of +??? all damage resistance. Both ablative and PSWTorpedo consoles to be turned in to Devices. To be given access to a hangar to deploy 1 delta flyer, 1 standart shuttle and 1 aerosuttle acting as a special wing and a lot more...
Would be better if at least the armor was turned in to a Device but who knows what may happen in future right? :)

Thanks for reading my feedback. Sadly, I found only two more similar to mine from 15 pages.

PS: To all KDF and Romulans - Voyager as part of this new story was enough reason for such improvement and version to be released. This is not the thread to complain why Federation gains a buff to one of its main ships and you havent got one as well...yet. You really are making this thread looks awful for there is no information here instead than complaints. And some people like me came here to read a structural feedback not some sort of chit-chat!

So what? That doesn't have anything to do with whether they said "TRIBBLE it we are only selling 2nd deflectors now" or not.

once again, read what I wrote, I never called you a name.. please state the name I called you... and stop trying to devalue what I say by childishly trying to side step the issue.

im actually not making enemies, thus why in what you quoted, I didn't call you a name. we are having an adult convo, I understand that not everyone views it as I do, but anyone who has experience with cryptic, can see the writing on the wall with their actions..

nature adheres to a vacuum as spock would say, well cryptic does too. im not saying they said they were only going to sell it, but this is reminiscint of other tidings from the past.. and most people who are commenting against your view are also citing that it is in typical cryptic fashion.. and that they too see the writing on the wall..

and yes, since they said nearly a year ago that all sci ships would receive a secondary deflector free, and so far, only one ship (for a severely limited time) was free, and its now only purchasable, along with the only other two ships that have secondary deflectors, it shows a pattern that they seem to be planning to use secondary deflectors to sell new (probably t6) sci ships..

I never said they said that, but it seems to be the current pattern of things.. like I said, with the three deflectors they are currently have either in game, or releasing (in the intrepids case) each sci ship should have the ability to slot what is out there.

take it easy man, not all of your posts are sunshine and lollipops either.. if you cant hang with the big boys, than don't step in the ring. :) at the end of the day we are all friends here defending our beliefs in a shared love for star trek.

What they say and what they do are different. Things and plans change.

Maybe they found it, it's harder to add a new slot to each sci ship that they thought it would be....

so far only the new sci ships has a 2ndary deflector... ships built with one in mind from the get go... balanced from the get go.

Maybe I am misguided, you see I am a Romulan that doesn't know much about science. I also believe that we should only allow Romulan Sci captain up to the rank of Admiral, they are useless anyway. Right ?

Man, you're not even kidding. I own the free captain version, the refit, the retrofit, the fleet, and now a fleet T5-U. Now they're doing a T6 version after I upgraded my fleet to T5-U? Thanks for that. Most irritating.

So I lose a tactical console which puts me back to 10 total from my T5-U with 11. I gain a universal lieutenant instead of an ensign science. A secondary deflector that makes little difference over not having one (we still only have the one Solanae secondary deflector to use last I checked). A ship pet that won't last very long in combat and I have to have all three consoles just for a ship pet torpedo effect. I doubt I'm going to use that pet console. I certainly haven't used the nadion detonator at all. And a mastery trait that adds a "small amount" of temporary hp to my heals which I don't need since I'm already healer/defense buff spec.

And the T6 has a lower shield modifier than my fleet version. Really?

Unless I get a discount for having already upgraded my fleet version to T5-U, I'm probably going to pass this up and wait to buy the interior separately. Maybe.

I don't usually gripe, but I'm rather disappointed in this T6 version and that they expect me to buy it after upgrading my fleet version already. The only benefit I see for myself here is the universal lieutenant BOFF seat which is a trade-off for losing a console slot. And a bit more hull hp. Really isn't anything else in the T6 that appeals to me.

Okay... I'm excited for the new Intrepid Pathfinder. The Intrepid was my first ship when the cap was level 40... the biggest problem is science isn't what it used to be.

This ship could have been tweaked better for being a T6... but most folks on here complaining about it being made a T6 are devout forumites and should have seen this coming. I mean there were many drumming that there would be an Intrepid bundle coming similar to the Scimitar bundle.

As for why I think they left the ships stats as they are... I think was a carrot to the T5U folks since the base stats are the same for the most part and the difference is in the seating and special consoles like it is with the other T6 ships. This is to keep the T5U on par with the T6 version but if you want the unique intel slots and special consoles then you'll buy the new bundle.

As for unique bridge and ship interior... we knew it was coming and so far no one has said it wont be for sale separately at some point. I'm sure after it has encouraged enough ship pack sales it will be available as a stand alone.

Most folks also should have figured T6 versions of canon ships would be coming at some point. I personally thought we would see T6 fleet version refits but I'm much happier with a c-store ship that I can buy for my account vs. individual toon unlocks. No one should really believe that Cryptic is not going to capitalize on the desire of trek die hards to want to fly their favorite canon ships in T6 style.

I'm more than happy to get my 2410 new ship models... I think its just like buying a new car every 3 to 5 years. I don't expect Chrysler to give me all the new bells and whistles on my old car. I only wish there was a leasing plan for my starship so I could just upgrade each time the new one comes out and make my dilithium or zen payments.

sure, that is the easy part..

ok.. so they have left the solane 2defl. ingame.. appearently because it works as intended. they have not tweaked the other secondary deflector that is ingame, ie, the white one on the dauntless.. this too appearently works as intended..

that means they so far have 2 secondary deflectors that work as intended, and are not being removed or worked on..

now you have an oodle of sci ships that do not have the ability to equip these two deflectors. however, since a lot of sci players have them, but maybe want to fly another sci ship, they could easily add the secondary deflector slot to the ship, and allow the current 2 2dflectors to be equipped in that slot..

infact, that makes perfect sense.. if they are trying to gain data on how they are working in game, why limit it to only 1 or 2 ships.. I would want to gather as much data, on as many builds to try and see what works, what doesn't, and what is feasible.

but since only current purchasable ships have access to it, and it has been so long, and there is no reason to not give current ingame sci ships the ability to slot any of the current secondary deflectors, I am led to believe that their plans are to use it as a selling point on new ships.. given that we are now 3 sci ships into having them, and all of them must be purchased now, with still no word of them releasing anything for sci ships. especially in a game where they release stuff like this well before its done, or even ready (cough.... rep system, cough... research and development... cough, pretty much all of dr.... lol).

but really, there is no reason that all the sci ships in game shouldn't be able to at least equip the current secondary deflectors in game.. there really is no tangible reason. if those deflectors are good to go, and are working as intended, than why can only 2 or 3 ships use them?

remember, im not saying cryptic needs to rush more secondary deflectors out, but giving access to the few that are in game would be monumental..

Maybe some of us don't want to wait until we're forced to rebuy our favorite non-science ships for $30 to point out that doubling down on bad game design decisions and poor communication may not be a fantastic gamble to take.

Some of us are actually pretty happy with the T6 Intrepid and what its current working status is.

We're just not all happy that we have to buy the same ships we like over and over again, particularly in the wake of the Delta Rising's launch where the difference between T5-U and T6 was particularly controversial.

For the people talking about secondary deflectors, I can't be bothered quoting all of your posts to get your attention but I just wanted to chip in.

Not ALL new science pay ships have secondary deflectors, the Scryer Intel Sci ship doesn't have one. :P

Also, it is still on the table. I remember reading a dev post about them inside the last month (will try to find it if I remember later) where they stated they were still working on them.

Plus, it's still on the 'upcoming content' page, but they've also added in 'comm array' items for cruisers so maybe they've delayed the deflectors so they can release both of those updates at the same time?

and yes, since they said nearly a year ago that all sci ships would receive a secondary deflector free, and so far, only one ship (for a severely limited time) was free, and its now only purchasable, along with the only other two ships that have secondary deflectors, it shows a pattern that they seem to be planning to use secondary deflectors to sell new (probably t6) sci ships..

I never said they said that, but it seems to be the current pattern of things.. like I said, with the three deflectors they are currently have either in game, or releasing (in the intrepids case) each sci ship should have the ability to slot what is out there.
So it's just your opinion? Because it seemed to have been presented as a fact.

take it easy man, not all of your posts are sunshine and lollipops either.. if you cant hang with the big boys, than don't step in the ring. :) at the end of the day we are all friends here defending our beliefs in a shared love for star trek.
You're welcome to ignore my posts. But if you're going to claim something, even if it's your opinion as fact, either demonstrate it as fact or clarify that it's your opinion. And you don't have to defend any opinion.

    Only 2 tactical consoles ???????

At this point in the game with the addition of T6 ships and the added difficulty with the new level cap, there is NO REASON for any T6 ship to be stuck with only 2 tactical consoles.

I guess if people want to just serve the purpose of performing crowd control, debuffing and healing in the game then this is a great ship, but three tactical consoles is the minimum if you want to hang toe-to-toe with another ship in PVP and slug it out 1-v-1.
In the immortal words of Captain Sisko: "It may not be what you believe, but that doesn't make it wrong."

Don't believe the lies in this forum. I am NOT an ARC user. I play STO on Steam or not at all.
