I was under the impression that XP was being increased, not reduced? All kills in game now give between 60 and 70% less XP, should slow down levelling a bit!
I thought it said in the patch that it was all being reduced due to the NPC level fixing and nerfing?
Someone did post about the Elite XP not being right, but here's for the rest.
The Skill Points and Expertise rewarded for defeating NPCs below the players current level have been updated.
They now correctly scale starting at one level below the player.
Defeating NPCs that are 5 levels below you now properly award far less skill points and expertise to prevent exploitative gameplay.

Wait... isn't that supposed to be the HP of the enemies being reduced?
The Patch notes say that enemies below your level reward less XP. But all?
It is always worth mentioning, that the patch mentioned a buff to the xp, rather than a reduction, and if this is "working as intended" it is going to make leveling incredibly hard for everyone.
edit: Meh, never mind - I read that wrong - was replying to the bottom part as if it were the top. But 60 vs. 60 at Elite is giving ~33% the XP if that. The Elite mobs had their shields reduced but hulls buffed...wouldn't necessarily qualify as a nerf, rather a change to give the casual player the image that they were getting somewhere since they obviously don't understand bleed.

Also i did beta thoridor i got 2 drops thats like 80% less there killing the grind for ENERGY Credits earned as well as the Xp there boning game up bad who wants to grind for 5 days pray for upgrade and get less than 400k to spend on exchange , great idea kill the exchange as well its hopeless This Guy running the numbers for drops and xp should be shot and gutted for the klingons happy happy joy joy party , thanks whoever is behind the scene thats killing game , please die before game does :This update will set the skill point earn rate to 2.0x normal.
Prior to Delta Rising the earn rate was 1.75x normal. LIES LIES LIES
Thanks to the 25% XP buff I'll spend 25% more money on the game now, thanks.
PS: Since 25% more means 1/5th of before ill just reduce my payments to 0 to buff it even more.
Can confirm. If you went solo in eg Argala Patrol, which had Level 60 mobs all along one Battleship kill would give you 1,3k XP. Now it is about 450 for me, when the patch said that it should be actually MORE. Such a joke, if Cryptic would care at all the servers would be long down again for fixing.
My Theory: "Levels below you" includes spec levels, so the more spec points you get the less xp. I'll have to level up to next spec level first though to confirm this.

When they first posted the patch notes yesterday, they said they would raise XP to 2.0x of what it is now, when I looked at the patch notes today, that part was removed. So in effect they lied to calm things down a bit.
I just don't care anymore, I was having fun, but now its just annoying how bad the XP is.

im lvl 58 and still get a lot less xp for doing elite patrols,misions so it is bug or stealth nerf

It's still there both in the Arc copy and forum copy of the release notes.
We've got guys running patrols in Argala atm, it doesn't seem to matter what level you're at, it's been nerfed across the board
not only this they killed skillpoints rewards in stfs to only player who last hit gets skillpoints and rewards per kill are 1/3 of what it used to be before this last update
After enjoying Delta rising for a week, I was really engaged with STO and enjoyed being back in the game so much more. I felt that it had been balanced and developed to have a good story line and fair skills/expereince system that really made me feel I wanted to spend time in the 'STO Verse'.
The recent changes or bug in the expereince/skills awarded for acheiving various missions and destructions of enemies made it a rather painful evening. I felt very exhausted at the end of a patrol. (I am an experienced veteran player with a effective and efficent skill set/starship).
An entire run in Argarla system resulted in me barely clocking up 1500 skill points.(In a team Elite and single on Elite) I was being awarded somewhere between 40-120 skills points. Frankly it was painful to the point I may suspend my time in the game untill the bug is corrected or this matter is looked into.

Also, is the xp per kill issue just happening with elite or is it across the board?
I just soloed Japori and also noticed a large drop in xp. At the same time the enemies in there definitely had their hit points buffed up. Little bit off topic - What I find really disappointing about the enemies is that they aren't any smarter and are still not really much of a threat... they just take FOREVER to kill.
i ran agarola or what ever its called 15 times after patch and 3 times just prior to patch to make notes of xp given.
Normal mode is giving out slightly more khazon cruiser prior 234 after 290
advanced mode cruiser prior 859 after 437
elite carrier prior 1300 after 475
something is up with the number before the patch and even worse now .
i got those values doing solo content as a team it is to hard to keep the values to one target simply because it keeps just adding to the total if you chain kills. and thats the big numbers many players are seeing and happy with. they jsut dont know any better.
hell tau dewa was still shut down this morning and people were stll spamming for teams there. we who read the forums are a few.
and a solo run on normal now takes 5 min elite 35 min. i do better to run normal 5 times with breaks inbetween than doing one elite mission

im playing game on elite and ship kills which used to give me 1.2k now gives 378,and i did not noticed any hp reduction

Battleship Mob on Solo Elite: ~400xp
Battleship Mob on Solo Normal: ~200xp
Normal clear time is approx 5-10 times faster than Elite, so running it normal is clearly superior at this time.
Normal 5man total xp reward: ~2000-2500 xp
So you would need 20-30 runs for a full spec level.
Clear Time on Normal is around 2 minutes, so it will take about an hour. Much worse than before.
