Just tested Argala system patrol on Elite. Prior to the patch, I was getting ~1750 XP per kill. Now.... 548 XP.

Certainly hope this is a bug.

I believe it is. This is coming in very close once again to the 28% figure that would result from a reversed operator in the equation governing XP. They are likely dividing by 2 instead of multiplying. There is a thread in bug reports where I did the math and it is looking more solid now as more data comes in.

It is always worth mentioning, that the patch mentioned a buff to the xp, rather than a reduction, and if this is "working as intended" it is going to make leveling incredibly hard for everyone.

Exactly it's definitely not going to make it easier. It's already a problem for people like me with alts and might I point out to those who still think this is an exploit, it's not it never was but the propaganda PR groups that keep calling it that will have you all believing it was an exploit. What they did was the equivalent of what I did to level my toons to max in exploration areas before they took those away. Just because they left patrols in there and people actually GASP played the game as intended to level, doesn't mean they cheated.

I just soloed Japori and also noticed a large drop in xp. At the same time the enemies in there definitely had their hit points buffed up. Little bit off topic - What I find really disappointing about the enemies is that they aren't any smarter and are still not really much of a threat... they just take FOREVER to kill. :(

One of my gripes about Delta Rising. Difficulty not really increased just everything takes longer to kill making matches longer, which equates to boredom, to player fatigue, and finally player not playing as they don't feel they are achieving or moving forward.

Another confirming that DR patrols XP has been nerfed HARD. Its not worth playing on elite anymore. Everything takes too long to kill, and gives a joke's worth of XP for the effort.

I agree that there new changes to the Exp tables is Way off, last night solo on elite in the Sakari system *very top portion of the Delta quadrant* I was getting around 1200 Exp per battleship.

I am now how ever getting around 580 Exp per battleship, there is something seriously wrong here cause in the time it takes to kill 1 battleship verses on normal makes leveling At All on elite ridiculous.

I just tested it pre-patch the first ship was 927 skill points on elite. Now it was 327 roughly on elite but the time required is up to 2/3 times difference from adance to elite.

So, to sum it up, elite players are screwed by Cryptic and just received a major smack in the face by Cryptic.

Some one have to be brain dead to not see that the ratio is off. If you go against a ship 3 times the normal hull and require massive skill. Then the difference between 256 xp advance should be 756 xp elite (scaled according).

I am really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, hoping this is a bug.

If not, it's a sickening.... perverted.... masochistic trick to play on the players, freebies and payers alike.

I was under the impression that XP was being increased, not reduced? All kills in game now give between 60 and 70% less XP, should slow down levelling a bit!

Seems that Cryptic thinks that the longer you have to play this game to level, the more likely you'll shovel out real money to buy Zen.

Boy, they could not be more wrong! There is a line between "Challenging" and "WTF is this BS???!", and Dr has been tap-dancing all over the second category.

I dunno about you guys, but the quicker I level and get that out of the way, the faster I want a new ship, and might just be willing to shell out some $$$ for it.

    but...

Cryptic has violated its customer's trust, nobody wants to buy stuff from people they cannot trust, except maybe the Germans.

Yea I noticed the general skill point income reduction throughout the bank as well. Should slow things down enough before the majority of the players start to wonder about current conditions in general PvE endgame.

Hopefully it will keep us busy and bored long enough until cryptic/pwe has come up with a solution.

Considering we had one b4 October the 14th which was simply removed im not at all optimistic though.

    Edit:

    Not this one.

Until I see a dev stating otherwise I'm still in the firm believe this is entirely intentional in order to "force" us to buy their massively overpriced xp boosts.

IF it isn't a bug then it isn't a trick so much as a blatant lie. The patch notes say that XP rates should have been increased by 0.25x, but instead they've decreased.

Gotta remember it's a divisor, so if it goes positive the gain is only ~5-12% whereas the flipside is the current -70%

It makes the Dil mistake even worse as they haven't lifted a finger or shut down the server now that the playerbase has been EPICLY inconvenienced to the point our dollars are being massively wasted in how much time things are taking to do.

    is it a bug?
    is it no bug?

    does it matter?
really, cryptic needs years to fix bugs that are a disadvantage for players.... if they fix them at all

exploits = instant shut down and nerf of everything
bugs = absolutely not important to fix

You forgot Cryptic math 101 :
A 100% reduction for cooldowns is really 50% reduction so 50% less than advertised.
A 25% increase in XP is really a 25% decrease in xp so 50% less than advertised.

    See it's entirely consistent

Totally agree. I have a quite a few alts, but absolutely no drive or incentive to take them through the DR content. In fact the drive is waning on the character I am taking through it!

Bingo, after all the game is now owned by the Chinese, so it's Asian grinder model + job adverts for monetization experts.

I am thinking the same way now.. Just been working on my FED Admiral but getting to level 57 taking much more grind runs than ever! My girl friend can mimic the Undine saying the words " the weak shall perish" from Borg Disconnect. I've played it so much prior to the last patch that has drastically cut all skill points levels, experience levels and final scoring. I can sit there and see my Score: 0 stay like that for a long time until the right number of hits start slowly climbing up. By the end task I am not getting the scoring for the hits because they have changed everything. Now if I use advanced it helps but like I working double time to get the same results I did when the scoring wasn't changed for Normal.

Well it's another day and let see how many are waking up to the real facts now...

For those of you to the east of Pacific time, do remember the devs are behind your time zone and do not wake up as early as you.

BTW, I also PM'ed Borticus with the numbers to show how the bug could potentially have happened. So if he missed it on Reddit he will also see it again upon logging in here.

The communication has been awful from Cryptic...I have hope that this was an accident, though, and can be fixed.

Yeah we all think it's pretty obvious that it's a bug, there's no way they would tell us they were going to increase it then actually decrease it, they may have made a mistake but they are not stupid. Anyway now they are just rolling up for work maybe someone will start the emergency maintenance.

Doesn't look like any emergency maintenance today. Even if they can't fix it right away. How hard is it for them to just speak up and say they are sorry for breaking something and that it will be fixed ASAP?
