Yeah I can see what you're talking about. The new ship kinda gives me the impression of a "future" version of the heavy cruiser line. It's design may not be for hardcore trek fans but I don't think it's that awful, kinda like it.
Although it could still be that my taste of designs is terrible since I like the ody and avenger even though some claim that those are ugly and aren't trek-like.
We'll see what's the real deal about it once we got it's specs.
I think the Odyssey and Avenger are great looking ships; perfect for their roles. One is more of a cruiser that is geared towards exploration the other towards battle. I also like the Vesta design even though some people still don't.

We could get this instead I for one don't mind the change. It's better looking than the Dyson ships and half the existing ships look god awful as well. My sci CPT is probably flying one of the ugliest, the TSAB, but at least it has some capability and flexibility.
Honestly, i dont care about the starfleet ships, since for a start, the only reason the saucers are built that way is to acomodate the phaser mechanism, like in the shows when it fires.
The saucers are built that way because the TOS Enterprise looked like that, and subsequent designers have based everything since on that basic design, with few deviations. And the TOS Enterprise didn't have phaser strips.
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
Anyway, I think we can all agree the complaints of ugliness would go away if Cryptic would do the smart thing and give us a canon T6 design: a T6 Yeager.

Weel, if all goes well, I'll be fine, my Sci is on the TSAB, my Engi is in the Mobius, and my Tac is in the Fleet Avenger, but has the JHAS. I may have to break it out and fly it though...

I love the look of that Fed Escort at 0:24 in the video. I would buy that in a heartbeat if it were available. Either way, though, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Not interested as the next level cap increase will render them obsolete so may as well not bother buying more ship slots to shove them in (after all the mastery system makes them pointless to discharge and reclaim)

Only if it has a console set shared with the fully functional spaceball-1, including it's onboard zoo, circus, shopping center and of course the transformation.:D
The problem is, there will be always a bunch of people who will pay for these new ships, and people who will pay for anything no matter what (rich people, probably) so, it doesnt matter if we aks cryptic for mercy, they will never give it to us lol.
And yet, I've even shown that I'm willing to PAY them for upgrading my current ship.
It's not just mercy we're asking for, we're willing to pay them handsomely to leave us alone. And yet...and yet...;-)

Isn't the Avenger a cross between that and warship voyager anyways?
Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!
I bought T5 VA ships when they were added to the game. I bought T5.5 Fleet ships when they were added to the game. I am certain I will buy some T6 ships when they are added to the game.

Depends on what they look like. I play mostly Fed-side. The concept art I've seen so far hasn't grown on me yet, but I'm curious as to how the T6 ships will work.
I'll probably eventually pick one up, as long as they are not all too hideous. In the meantime, I haven't finished building up the ships I have...

The Yeager looks like a terrible kitbash out of spare parts the team had left. The images from memory alpha don't show much since it's on-screen appearance was rather brief but with google you can get some better pictures.

Oh yeah, it's a complete kitbash of an Intrepid and an extremely oversized Peregrine, of all things. It's so hideous, I'm kind of obsessed with it. Memory Alpha has a nice picture of its shooting model.

BLASPHEMY! It isnt a pizza cutter design and therefore cannot exist!
40 years since the tv show, I think we can stand to branch out a little. There are already 30+ pizza cutter ships on the fed side to choose from.
And yet, I've even shown that I'm willing to PAY them for upgrading my current ship.

Yeah, this is pretty much where I stand on the topic. I have ships I love using. I bought them because I love them. I don't mind buying an upgrade for them if it's full to T6, regardless of the price being asked. I have problems with feeling forced out of the ships I love in order to get all the benefits from the game.
It's easy really - they can either make money out of me or not in 'Delta Rising'. It's their chocie, since I, the guy I'm quoting here and many others have made our position perfectly clear on this.
As much as I like the canon models I have to say this. Its 2410!!! Of course they are toing to have new models. All these canon ships running around is like have ww2 era destroyer's escorting a super carrier. The ships may look odd but people will buy them for ability over looks.

Well, the 'writing' on the hull of the saucer is quite unusual - it echos displaying the name of a ship, but it's certainly not English.

I quit playing Fed a long time ago...about when the Romulans came out
SO, I am getting a really cool looking T6 Warbird really soon. It kind of looks like a DRAGON. Scales and all. Just look at those wings!!
Sorry you Feddites are getting a flying scalloped potato.
Congrats to my Klingittes who're getting a great looking ship too!!
Not any more.
Still waiting to be able to use forum titles

Not interested in grinding that much dilithium or putting any more $$ into the game

I don't think I'll be getting other factions' T6 ships, especially not the horrid Fed. designs.
