Id like to see an awayteam in space mech for the 'old' t5 & t5.5 ships so they stiill have some use. I hope we will b able to upgrade ships maybr through crafting. Id miss my soverigen class alot but im loving the anouncement. so i eonder what T6 ships will look like
Grind Grind Grind, and to top it off: Any gear currently in the game, especially fleetgear and ships are obsolete. Nice, makes you really want to play this game further....
Level 50 to 60 and story based content confirmed.
Mark MK XII and MK XIV confirmed.
This wouldn't be necessary if they'd just slow down normal leveling.
New methods of captain advancement via specialization trees.
We have this already. It's called REPUTATION.
Many new races to encounter.
Vidiians? Kazon? Voth we aren't required to kill on sight? The photonic Doctor clones working in the mine? The mimetic life form that spontaneously died for no reason after it took the form of Voyager? This isn't looking good.
Tier 6 ships introducing new class of starships and new class of boffs.
Goes along with the first statement.
Voyager interior (I'm told the option with or without Neelix's kitchen.)
Better intrepid model
Same upgrade method as the Galaxy. I called it.
Exploration
....but no details?
Sorry, but I'm generally not impressed.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.
Those of you concerned with older ships becoming "obsolete". I would recommend holding off the pitchforks and torches and listen to the Q and A that will be happening soon.
We are going to take care of you guys.
U guys allways do. Im a very happy camper / satisfied gamer i have complete faith n trust in u lot
Well I guess im going to go alt killing. Craptic continues to make this game only about one character despite their whining about it being "alt friendly."
they probably do what they done for some fleet ships that are upgrades for zen store ships and only cost 1 fleet module instead of 4 if you have the zen store ship
Pretty sure EverQuest 2 has raised its level cap a couple of times since becoming F2P, and it will be doing so again later this year.
It doesn't sell character power in the way STO does, though.
I am unfamiliar with the EQ2 model so I'll take your word for it. As for the LOTRO model I'm pretty sure your gear is not as closely tied to real money like it is in STO thanks to ships and the dilithium model.
I dunno time will tell. The STO F2P model is semi unique and I think this will either revitalize the existing players or completely destroy it. Time will tell.

Thank you for the topic !!

I will sell my fleet stuffs to the same npc that bought my mk XI when mk XII was realesed and then bought my MK XII when fleet mk XII was released....and start all over like a fool while drolling on what people from other mmos call "upgrades"
You know, reading the update, I feel like this expansion is just another LoR in the style of Voyager. A lot of the same things are happening -- New rep, new planets, new species (good and bad) and new ships you can only get as part of the Zen Store bundle. I can't be the only person who feels this way.

Q:&A Existing T5 ships will be competitive. Will be way to "make them better"
This just raises more questions than answers, honestly. Exactly how will our T5 ships be made better? And if T5 ships can be turned into T6-equivalents (which is what I gather from this), then what do the T6 ships offer that make them worthwhile?

You're not, far from it.

I no longer do any Bug Hunting work for Cryptic. I may resume if a serious attempt to fix the game is made.

I'm not exactly raising pitchforks just as yet. I expect there be some sort of leveling system through Fleet or Crafting. But people on the Team should have realized that people would be angry since people spent tons of money for what they have now. And if they have to pay for upgrades, it's not exactly going to settle well.

Yes, LOTRO has (among others). And that game is still doing fine.

Of course. LOTRO has done it many times.

Ahhh yes the great Dilithium conversion debacle. Still licking wounds from that....
Need for Speed World did. From 50 to 60, but cars didn't get raised in unlock time/new range.
and said it would be a T6 version of the Scimitar for lvl 60 players mwahahaha
Big whooping surprise.

Judging by what's been said, I would not be surprised if upgrades are via crafting system.

Brace yourself Delta Quadrant, STO playerbase incoming!!!!!
You're not, far from it.
Why? You have to have some way of leveling from 50 to 60.
