Scheduled Maintenance (July 22, 2014) [COMPLETE]

Hailing all Captains,

We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow morning, Tuesday, July 22nd, at 7AM PDT (click here to view in your timezone) for newly scheduled maintenance and to apply a new patch. Patch notes can be found here, and we expect this maintenance to last for 2 hours. The test server, launcher and access to manage your account may also be unavailable during some portions of the maintenance.

    Gonna be honest here. Taking away the ability to run multiple research project for a single school is a bad idea. If you hadn't launched a bugged version that allowed for it that would be one thing, but this? It's not quite the kick in the crotch that fixing the bug that allowed people to buy from another fleet's store with your fleet's provisions would have been, but it's close.

    Not even pushing this build to Tribble first, eh? (Unless the Dev Tracker hiccuped and missed a Dev Post) - pretty cavalier here. Is Tribble disappearing soon?

    Oh come on guys. You couldn't have been bothered to give me like 3/15 levels or some sweet doffs or anything aside from a couple titles for having maxed old crafting, and now you have to take away my one chance of getting a school maxed before I have gray hair?

    And I paid lots of EC for those traits.

    Research and Development:

    Resolved an issue which was allowing players to run multiple Research Training projects from the same school simultaneously.
    Only 1 Research Training project can be run at a time per school.
    How 'bout you don't and just say you never thought it'd be a good idea to take this function away and we'll never speak of it again hmm? It's annoying enough to retrain crafting again forcing a slow down and grind/incentive to spend dilithium is just not kosher man.

    Known issues since 9.5 release:
    1) Rolor Nebula doff assignments tied to B'Tran Accolade counter instead of Rolor
    Not sure if fixed) Was that "reduction" editing the tooltips when you checked the genetic resequencers, because they all overstated their actual effectiveness.

    Known issue since S9 release:
    Asylum on Earth doff assignment removed from ESD by accident

    Known issue since 12/15/2011 (Yes it's that old http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=3908068&postcount=33):
    Omega Leonis sector defense accolade not counting like the others.

    Dev: But we still see it counting up here?

    Me: Because players have to ask old players to share the old mission that was removed in order to get the counter going. Fix it like the others!

    Can't have people running more than one 20h research project in a school at a time and advancing too quickly without paying dilithium now can they.;)

    But running multiple research XP projects from the same school was a GOOD thing. Not a bad one.

    Welcome to the 334 day grind per school. Frankly, leave it as-is. Why the heck change it? It was still going to take two months to get one school to level 20 and that put us around September. You're probably going to release the next Expansion/Season/Grind late October early November so no harm there.

    So you guys first nerf the research projects down to 6k XP and then before our asses can even recover from that ****ing you decide we can only run 1 per school, making it a 278 day grind to max out a school using research projects. No I will not run your item crafting assignments to level either, who the hell thought it was a good idea to make us not only have to gather materials but then craft them into components just to further craft them into worthless items was a good idea? Seriously this crafting system is just a disaster. You people seem think we enjoy mind numbingly boring grinds, the reps are bad enough, this is obscene.

    You called that an issue?

    It was one of the sane things about R&D. Jeez. I understood being able to run 4 or so to do R&D school for a month in order to get a school to Level 15...but now...

    Now its going to take more than 100 days/3 months to get Level 15 without using overpriced Dilithium payments.

    I don't even know. This is one of the rare times I actually cannot rationalize this move.

    So since they are removing the dilithium vendors, what are they doing to the special Plasma Weapons from the vendor in Dyson Joint Command?

    Being able to slot two XP projects from a single school seems reasonable enough and the alternative, just seems like way too long to get to max level. I mean who wants to work towards something that will take them almost a year to get. Who knows what we'll even be doing in a year. We could be hit by a bus.

    Not even bothering with R&D now. Year long grind for a single school. No trait is worth that. What chimps do you have making these decisions?
