Uh, about 20 seconds? STFs and queued content are doing more or less fine. To the extent that people aren't playing specific events, that's an artifact of the fact that people gravitate to the events that give higher rewards for less time/effort, and play those on a loop (made possible by the relatively short 30 min cooldown on most of those missions).
Seriously, I get that for whatever reason this bothers you, but honestly, objectively the game is BETTER without the cluster missions as they were. If you feel like removing them has removed content of a quality that you enjoyed, then I highly (HIGHLY) recommend that you fill the void with Foundry missions - there is a much wider variety of Foundry content than there ever was exploration missions, AND that Foundry content tends to be a much higher quality. It's a win/win/win - Cryptic gets to remove bad content so they can overhaul it down the line (possibly X2?), you more high quality missions with a greater variety, and Foundry authors get people playing the missions they worked on so hard.
Cluster missions were NOT a 'huge amount of content' - they were a very small, very low quality amount of content that got copy/pasted a huge number of times.
did not come here to play mission made by another player..............................................
ppl keep using that word quality only best quality mission in this game are only storyline mission and FE and not a lot of them other than that rep grind and so on are on the same line of quality as exploration missions
obviously the the developers don't see it that way, and it wasn't the only reason.
and there are now enough FE and story missions to reach max level 2 times...cryptic probably wants new players to concentrate on those missions instead of "getting lost" in missions that orders you to klick 5 consoles. Those missions feel more like a hamster in a wheel than any rep grind could eve be.
I'm buffled anybody wouldn't want them gone.
not removed yet, but they intend to remove the clusters at the borders of each sector space. The doff missions remain more or less, but the anomalies inside, which sometimes spawned a random klick 5 consoles or kill 5 ships mission will be removed.
but you seem to like a mission that wants you to klick 5 consoles?
At least those missions you could play with friends/fleet-mates.
The "new" missions are SP missions, I still can't beliefe Cryptic is giving us SP missions in a MMO and removing MP missions... (SP = single player)

you know never had thought of that seem like ever FE now is a SP mission.........................
better than doing a rep grind mission for the 2000th time
srsly? you enjoy a random generated mission where you fly towards an asteroid, beam down and press a button on 5 consoles more?
You do know that those missions are also all just the same? You are infact repeating the same missions over and over.
did not come here to play mission made by another player..............................................
Feel free to justify why this opinion is worth having. No, really - I'm not going to say you are entitled to your opinion on this point, because frankly you aren't. There is no possible rational basis for this feeling as a whole - you might not like specific player made missions, for whatever reason, but by and large they are of higher quality and more "Trek-like" than the exploration missions ever were.

sorry if you dont like it but i did not put money in this game to play player made mission i dont even care for star trek books i dont pay wow or swtor or ESO to go play player made mission
If Cryptic really wants to remove star clusters from the game they should replace them by redoing the galaxy map, make the sector blocks bigger, add more planets with more missions and all. Maybe throw in homeworlds for more of the species on the game as either mission places, social zones, or a combo of both kinda like Vulcan. They need to throw us a bone of some sort, not just strip off piece after piece till theres nothing left of the game.
LOL. Yes, the random generator there was highly robust. You never knew if you were going to get Borg religious zealots who you had to stop by clicking three consoles, or if it would be ROMULAN religious zealots who you had to stop by PRESSING three consoles.
Seriously. The random missions were terrible, and the game is simply better off without them.
random out of 7! it is not really random with an unforeseeable outcome, lol. Or is it for you?
more random than Qing up for the rep grind for the 2000th time and are yall still trying to convince me? got 4 words not going to happen!!!!!! so i just give up already

Don't wish for too much at once. But i agree, they should combine sector space to one giant sector. And maybe add player generated missions to unused systems. They kind of do that in Neverwinter, where you have a board of player generated missions that specificaly use the zone you are in.
For instance, if you get close to vulcan, you get a list of a selected few foundry missions that involve vulcan.

na, not really trying to convince you. You are obviously trolling. You don't even care yourself about cluster missions. You just have a strong sense of entitlement and it angers you that cryptic didn't ask you for permission.
If those missions really ment anything to you, and you make it seem that you do them all day long, you would be gone by the time 9.5 is released. Wouldn't miss you :P
Guess we can all agree that the star cluster missions sucked and were very glitch but hey, something to do anyway. If they'd replace them with something better people may not complain so much but it's Cryptic, they'll remove it and never add anything to replace it in the hopes that if they throw us yet another over priced, over hyped lock box it'll passify us so we won't complain

Well, given that the variety between the queued missions that reward marks is much, much higher than the variety of missions that the clusters "randomly" generated, yes.
Again, you are not entitled to your utterly fatuous opinion merely because you wish for another reason to drink in the forum hater-ade. Complaining the Cryptic removed the cluster missions because you enjoyed them is about as defensible as complaining that GM recalled your car because you enjoyed the possibility that you would be killed in a fiery accident. There may be legitimate reasons to be disappointed with Cryptic, but this isn't one of them.

So, you're saying if you don't like something, and it's obvious that the thing you don't like is never going to change in a way that you desire, you should do the adult thing and just leave? Huh. That is sound advice. You should give that advice to that daan2006 guy who keeps saying he'll stay in the game no matter what, even though he doesn't play any of the content, merely because he wants a forum to continue to troll with his irrelevant gripes.

/thread.
give me my money i put in this game over the years and i will till then your stuck with me
Well like I said in another thread. Unless they are putting something in to replace the clusters, taking out any kind of content on the balance is usually a BAD IDEA.
I mean many of you bashing on daan(not taking his side, just pointing this out) are many who WANT MORE CONTENT. Then they remove content and many of you don't even bat an eyelash because you consider it bad. Who cares if it's bad?!
I consider some of the rep grinds bad, bet you all 5 bucks they pulled one of those you'd be out with pitchforks!
Catch a clue, pulling content is a BAD THING TO DO.

now i agree that removing content is bad. However, the content in question is so bad, according to cryptic, which i assume has data to support what they say, think that specific content is hurting the overall quality of the game and frightening away potential costumers. If it is a valid reason for a developer, and myself havent done starcluster missions in 2 years, why would i be in favour of keeping it?
Also, normaly every game company removes content from time to time in their games...normaly they do it in beta, especially in MMOs, since an MMO is never a finished product
