Crafting was on life support, now it is basically going to be buried, if it wasn't dead and buried before. Killing the exploration daily missions is also the result of the death of crafting. It simply a way to force the player base to spend money on zen then convert it to Dilithium.

I've been gone for quite awhile now... (about 5 months)
I see things haven't really changed any.
I'm almost afraid to sign into the game now for fear that I won't have enough Dilithium to even launch my ship!

It's true! I'm now penniless after having won the Powerball, because of all the ZEN I had to buy to convert to Dil so I could post as much as I do! :P

Depends on whether you craft them and pay the "I gotta have it liek right nao!!!1!!" fee or go with the Fleet Elite Emoticons.

I don't craft so I don't care how much dil they charge. I do look forward to being entertained by rage posts over the dil prices.

indeed.. crafting has been dead for years, i got no interest in picking up that stick and poking it. however when others poke it as you suggest and smells start coming out, i will also be there to watch the reactions with popcorn and chair inside a room with a quiet fan extractor.
    T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

Wow this is pretty stupid. I take off for a week to dabble in a different F2P MMO, come back and find that the real-money prices (because lets face it, dil has a real-money equivalent) are being raised on the worthwhile stuff in order to 'encourage' me to take up gambling instead?

Honestly I think the worst part is that its being sold as an 'improvement.' We're gamers, and the kind of gamers that lurk on forums previewing and analyzing stuff months out, which means we tend to be number crunchers to some extent. As such, this thing assuming we can't do basic math or comprehend the simple probability of an RNG, its moderately insulting. Frankly I'd rather they just come out and say it rather than play BS marketing games. :(

So are the crafted items better than existing ones once you max out the new grind or are you just playing the lottery for the same stuff you could get in Ker'rat or STFs.

Two quid that STFs, Ker'rat, and every other loot drop in the game has better chances of landing a mk12 purple than in the new crafting system.
    Rejoice JJ Trek people....
