party crasher isn't working at least for me did this 1 last year so I know how it works and for me it's bugged and new free outfit bugged can't find it or use it and did the omega project for the customize outfit that never worked been to 3 different tailors how depressing but it's usual next thing the server will crash multiple times and maybe in a week things will start to run normally.

So, has anyone had trouble finishing the mission?

Worked all through, beat the dreads, have cutscene where Tuvok proposes the summit and then I end back in sector space.

No options to end/continue the mission, it is letting me begin the mission again (with the 'On Edge' segment), but I don't have the end rewards (I do have the suit though).

To get the end rewards you need to contact the guy who gave you the mission or on your right hand where the missions are listed click on the little head that says mission is finished.

Is there any backround to that DEFERI on the ROMULAN flagship?
Or is he just here to make me dislike the Republic again? I just grew fond of them...

So if you want the 2 EV Dyson variant upgrades from the lobi store (i.e. need 3 FE EV suits each = 6), does that mean you have to run this episode 6 times? Or is there a way of getting more than one EV suit per run through?

My verdict is I really liked the FE. I thought it was well done as a story line, and you got plenty of combat time with the Sci Dyson destroyer. I didn't really notice a significant difference between the tactical and Sci-mode though, I think the turn rate for tactical should be +4 and not +2. The +15 aux to +15 weapons power change between the modes really messes up your power settings if you're not use to adjusting on the fly.

I have enjoyed the new FE both from a story and visual standpoint. It has been a lot of fun.
The story good and the use of the Undine was unexpected but a nice twist. Though I am a little put off that the feds seem to believe the threat the undine now but not earlier in the PT2409.

One huge like that I hold is that the Dyson ship one uses in the mission is now appropiate to the players factin. Another is how the mission plays differently depending on one character class and choices in the mission.

Worked the second time through. What I think may have caused it was after speaking with the other captains and Tuvok, the option to contact Kaol, which takes you to the final cutscene, appears. I clicked on that and after the scene got dumped in sector space with no ability to end the mission. The second time, I turned the mission in before contacting Kaol for the final cutscene and got the mission rewards.

...must be nice that everyone else had such a good time with this mission

its been 30 minutes and I decided to put a movie in while I ****ing wait for the completion load screen to finish, stopped at 94.12% and has only gotten to 95.69 -.- with my luck the damn game session will time-out or disconnect near the 99% mark

I told myself not to bother with it too, after 3/4 game crashes yesterday I just KNEW this ****ing thing wasn't going to work for me. Never going to do one of these stupid event things again. I don't care what TRIBBLE it gives away, not worth the wasted time and aggravation  I suggest anyone who's had problems with it do the same, save yourself the pissoff.

I give the mission a solid B+, having re-tried it without all the server fail and aggravations.

    Pros:
    - good story, variety of things to do (ground, puzzle, space, story choices).
    - lets us try out the free ship a little
    - sets the stage for going forward in the story
    - awesome free ev suits
    - multiple paths so a little different on repeats

    cons:
-nonsense. My ship can get within 2 feet of the sun but no gravity effects? My ev suit can withstand the sun outside but not thru a window? My ev suit can withstand the sun but not a weapon?

    - escort ship with broadside BEAM ARRAYS????!!!!! WHY???

    - eyesore. Yes, I understand it was supposed to be in the sun. But the bright lights were painful after a bit, and the space combat was so bright I could barely look at the screen. One would think that space age tech would have.... I dunno, tinted windows?

    - no respawn points and bugged: when the server crashed, each time, for at least 5 times, every time, over and over again like, and then some more, it started the entire station over from the "hey, my name is tupak" arrival sequence. Also, when I died in the window puzzle room, it would not respawn, period, had to restart from ... guess where.

    - poorly tuned. Yes, my gear is poor quality, but the game figured it out fine for my level 15 character and it was fine. My level 50, not fine: the voth took my shield off in 1 hit and hit #2 was nearly fatal, as I lack the OMGa ground set or whatever it is we are supposed to have that can take hits like that. And the space battle, did I mention the beam arrays on the escort?? The only redeeming quality was having GW to stop the undine death torps, between that and the scimitar helping, we managed, but it was still like chopping down a tree with a butter knife.

It looks like more negatives but those are just more detailed for feedback purposes. Again, a solid B+.

Oh, the daily Q chase: I won't complain because I have seen worse, earning my pig mount in NWN was worse. But really.... this sort of thing just invites a billion people to one laggy map where they have to compete for laggy respawns to do something that is easy and quick but after about the second time is not much fun. Variety is the spice of MMOs or something...

I failed the puzzle with the icons and consoles, but the story went on as if I had not failed it.

    That was pretty weird.

The story is supposed to go on. Failing the puzzle just causes you to fight more enemies.

An hitting the spacebar gives you some thrust up like jumping.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

To be perfectly honest, if I should explain how to use the space suit... I had no idea what to say.
I just.. used it. It worked for me. WSAD and a bit space bar bashing and mouse wiggling were enough to maneuver quite fine.

This mission was great fun. I enjoyed interacting with Tuvok even more than with Worf in Sphere of Influence. I also give props to the surprises--the trip to the Jenolan Sphere and the Undine. LOVED the spacewalk over the surface of the sun. Felt like my character was really "boldly going . . ." into uncharted territory.

It would be nice if this story would lead to some new STFs down the road vs. undine, or maybe some new Dyson-style ground battlezones, eithter PvE vs. Undine or (dare I say it?) PvP.

Not so happy about the Q grind as others have said, but it is what it is, and I sure hope that we get plenty more storytelling like this FE in the future.

Thanks for a fun mission, Cryptic!

the EV suits seem to be completely random, or bound to faction or osmething... ran my rom sci char through it 3 times for the full set... each and every time she got the enforcer. thn i run through it once on my kling sci.... i get the striker.

also, I love the fact that there are randomized elements in this episode.

The EVA suit you get is tied to the choice you make deciding what type to defenses Tuvok should reactivate for stopping the Voth. So, if you re-run the mission for a different suit, make sure you don't select an option you selected on a previous run through.

acctually it played dang well with my fed trill tact captain lol.

    PVP build?

Because the mission loadout Dyson is very drain-centric, it seems.

Tachyon Beam seems to do nothing, and I'd still much rather a single-target tac loadout instead of spread with a ship that low in Hull.

One important point... if you boost forward hard, you tend to keep going just as if you were really spacewalking. Use the S key -- or a handy wall -- to brake.

Interestingly, boosting backward doesn't have the same effect.

Otherwise, it seems to be just like using one of the floaters on Risa.

I loved this version of EV way more than the previous spacejump mechanic. It's too much to hope that they'll go back and change those other missions to use the jetpack style, but it would be cool as heck.

You've set the bar, Cryptic! No more point-to-point spacejump EV missions! Gotta let us fly free now!

I am 90% sure that the branch for mech vs assassin is determined by the solar inhibitor that is first repaired. Specifically, when you first approach the station, there is an inhibitor nearest to you, and repairing that one will give you the mech. However if you move to the right and repair that one first instead, you will get the assassin. I have only tested this one time so far while keeping all prior choices at their default, and it worked, but I havent fully tested all permutations. There may be something else here like CW vs CCW but I am 90% sure its just keyed to the platform that is repaired first.

With my comments in mind about the FE, I have to say the Party Crasher "mini-game" is well.. pants.

It's not difficult, time consuming or anything really bad.

It's just incredibly boring. I wouldn't mind if it was 10 minutes long so long as I was having fun doing it.

Take the Risian Summer Event for example, I was still having fun flying around the island several days before the event finished. That was fun.

Was I right in hearing there was another way of obtaining these 40 Qmendations (without using the Lobi's I have saved up)?

i agree, as you say not hard to do or anything just lame and the summer and winter events are much more satisfying to do, its a shame they couldnt think of some new event specially if it was using the new jet pack spacesuit combo that we could have done, like washing the windows on earth spacedock would have been more fun then the q mini mission trash.lol ;)

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

I always repair the nearest one first (why not, after all). I got the sniper on my first playthrough, with a Fed toon; the next two, FedRom and Klink, got the mech. Also, the Klink didn't get the room with the malfunctioning sun shield near the end, but went the other way instead (and now I'm drawing a blank on the puzzle we had to solve there).

Basically, it seems to be random. And that's freaking incredible.

Does anybody know a way to get into the locked segment of the map that is the shorter way to the dyson control room? Seems like there is something supposed to be there so maybe there is a trick to get into that room.
