So, you attack, belittle and tell him to leave, for stating a fact. Plus you use the 'players like you' bs. Ignorant and offensive attack against a player. Reported.
Well, except that the person he was addressing is apparently not a player, he's just one of these "I quit!" dudes who never actually leaves the forums. Further, dude was in fact wanting to be banned so that he could "stop wasting money on TRIBBLE like" FREE ships. Basically, he was trolling, dig?
And sometimes, when you troll, you catch something. That's one reason for its popularity as a fishing method.
One thing that some people haven't learned is that "you can't please everyone." Even if Cryptic had given away some T5 starship unlock, we'd still have bunches of disappointed players here complaining they had already spent money to unlock the very same ship.
And those who complain about the money issue have an invalid argument also. STO is FREE to play, and they just gave away two ships for FREE that, once claimed, are account bound. These ships come with great consoles if you are not happy with the ships themselves. If you alrady had the ships and consoles, refer to pragraph 1.
This is a business, and businesses exist to make money. Like your barber, if you get a bad haircut, you find another barber. If you are not happy with STO, go find another mmo. I got lucky. I have a new ICC console on my main FED Odyssey, my alt FED Galaxy, and my alt ROM Ar'Kif... as well as a new BNW on my KDF Vo'quv... I didn't have the Horta (which has already come in handy on my alts), and the new bridges will look good in the new Gladius...
It would nto have mattered WHAT was given away or how hard we had to work for it, there would still be whining and complaining.

Make it go really fast every once in a while. It's the "ah, TRIBBLE, Gravity Well!" button.
Or the "I've been hit with another tractor beam and both evasive maneuvers and polarize hull are on cool down." Y'know, like happens all the f'in time in Mirror Invasion.
With the upcoming build swap feature I see plenty of use for this. You can completely customize your console setup for the task at hand, and swap back and forth as needed. You may not need the extra speed boost in PvE, but in PvP it could be a godsend.
I have bought all of these things so i got nothing out of it. I'm not upset about it. I'm happy for people who dont already own them, but if im being honest it does kind of suck that I got nothing out of this because who does not like free stuff?
it seems a strange way to reward people who have not given you money while giving nothing to the people who have already done so.
its not a big deal, but if they want to give free stuff away in future id much rather they gave people a few keys, or some zen. at least then everyone gets something. edit - i guess multiple accounts causes problems there with people farming it as a free gift, so maybe we just have pot luck.
Anybody else having the issue of the Bio-Neural Warhead only working in a weapons slot, when the article page clearly says, "This console may be equipped in any console slot of any ship that can be flown by a Klingon captain."?
The article is wrong. The bio-neural warhead has always been a weapon, NOT a console.
Too bad you cant just claim the ship until you have the proper level. I will not have time to level my just new klingon character lol. Anyways, it is a great looking ship. I already had the gladius in my fed toon so.
Yes last year we got a free ship with ship slot, now that was awesome no complaints there, but this year is like some new guy running the show or something and doesn't realize how bad it looks compaired to last year
Brandon, this excuse is thinner - dimensionally speaking - than the average distance between a Frenchman and anything that a Frenchman might care to sample carnal knowledge of.
That is to say, it's pretty ****ing thin.
The POINT of playing Romulans is that we don't WANT to be flying Fed or KDF ships. We want that sweet warbird action.
There ARE Romulan ships in the C-Store that could have been offered as part of this - why not the Dhael?
Spot on,but no ones bothered. It's all smoke and mirrors
The people asking for romulan ships are hillarious.
The free give aways have always been minor things that are mostly old stock. You get it for free though and if you never picked it ups its cool. The last few years it has been lowbie ships that yes many people have or skins... but if you overlooked it its nice. Free is free. Every year the first 3/4 of the give aways are the minor stuff they don't really sell anymore.
The last day or two they have given us something of a little more current value. I honestly wouldn't expect a VA level or Romulan ship... however if they are going to do it look for it on the last day of the give away promotion.
Spot on,but no ones bothered. It's all smoke and mirrors
"It's always a game of chess with them, isn't it?"
Except with Cryptic, it's a very complicated game of poker, where you're not allowed to know the ruleset, played in the dark, with a dealer who smiles ALL THE TIME.
(With apologies to Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman)
Forget the freebies these past three days (for which I am grateful) Tomorrow is gonna be AWESOME. To all the FEDS who have not played the revamped Klingon War episodes on Tribble, when you get to play them tomorrow they are gonna blow your mind. Shorter objective on some, longer and new objectives on others. More importantly though, the graphics, they are soooooooo sweet.
I feel bad for enjoying all the crying. But then again, I have and am playing other games, where you dont get any free ****, and if you do its something not really usefull. (More of a trophy).
Im for one happy that we didnt just get an accolade for this. But we got loads of free stuff. We have to work for a brand new ship?
Let me compare with another game which also gave "free" stuff. World of Tanks, it required you to get 100k xp on 7 factions. And you get from 200-3k xp per battle depending on luck. For that you got an single 60$ tank. I know alot of friends used more than 8 hours each day to get half the xp needed. Worst case scenario for WoT 700000/500 = Thats 14000 battles, all of which take up to 15min.
Let me bring this to STO. We are required to run a new cool story mission 3 times. and each time we get good stuff. And then we have to do 5min "grind" each day for 15 days. And for that we get a ship that would be around 2000 zen (around 20$?). I like this grind far more. Not saying that I dont feel for the people who are weekend warriors and may have to skip the ship. But it would have been the same in WoT.
And we can get this ship 3 times. With far less time investment.
Thank you for being honest with me about the coming ships, that means I can actually chose if I want to get the free one, and later a paid one.

I think this is the down side to going above and beyond for people. Do it too often, then it's expected and becomes an obligation instead of a treat. Once the precedent is set, any effort that is made subsequently that is not as amazing is suddenly loathed for being disappointing. It's kind of like Chefs explanation of giving a baby ice cream versus not giving a baby anything at all in the first place.
its not a big deal, but if they want to give free stuff away in future id much rather they gave people a few keys, or some zen. at least then everyone gets something.
This one paragraph I can actually relate to
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
You know this is the PRE-anniversary give away, with an emphasis on PRE. We have no idea what they will be doing for the rest of the 25 days of the Anniversary now do we.

Er, yes we do. The anniversary is a ship (3 ships to be more precise - KDF, FED and ROM) which can be earned over the 25 days of the anniversary event.
This give-away is just prior to the (hence PRE) anniversary.

Thanks for the free stuff. I didn't have any of it.
When the Dominion lock box came out I bought a few packs that give feds the bio-neural warhead weapon for a few of my characters. I use to use it but quite frankly it sucks.
It moves really slow towards the target, at least as slow if not slower than a high yield plasma torp. It doesn't do squat for damage. If the warhead hits a shield facing it does 960 damage, every time, despite the mouseover tooltip indicating it does 13k+. It actually has to hit the hull of a ship for max damage. There were bug reports about it when the Dominion lock box came out.
It does shoot out little antiproton blasts at everything in range on its way to the target though.
I haven't used it on my fed characters for a great many months. Honestly I don't think it's worth a weapon slot.

Its not a spam torp, it has to be used strategically to get the big hit.
If it hits a shield, you will only get impact damage, but if it hits hull then the sentient part of the torpedo will detonate the tricobalt and you will get the biggest explosion in the game. The antiproton is for the AI to try and lower the target's shield. If you get the shield down through other means, the torp wil fly to it and detonate without waiting. If you just throw it at a target that sitll has shields, it will shoot the shields before eventually ramming, maybe with shields up maybe with shields down.
Not bad items for my free account I guess. I already have them both on my main I think, due to past give always like the initial Klingon revamp of a few years back.

In all fairness, lazarus51166 was probably just trolling me too.
