Hmmm with 6 turn... that just went from interesting to junk pretty quick.
I'm not a fan of power creep so I'm honestly semi happy that these ships aren't going to sell to the masses.
Seriously though the escort semi interesting... depending on the magnitute of the dmg buff... and the fact you can steel the console and put it on something like the andorian will make it very popular. The cruiser though looking at the specs I don't really see an niche role it plays that is going to make it all that attractive to very many players.
A lockbox with less impact... I'm ok with that myself.
dude, that escortis great. think vet ship with 17 turn. that thing is a beast. sure, everything with a COM tac that doesn't have a battlecloak is sub par, but this thing is king of the losers.

King of the loosers I love it. lol
Ya a year ago I would have been salivating at those specs... but these days when people are flying 5 dhc avengers because a bug doesn't have enough punch to do anything but waste a team slot anymore... I'll pass.
Well unless the console buffs are crazy... in which case you will see my other escorts doing crazy ivans. lmao
Having said that if the demand isn't crazy and it is in the price range of the elachi escort I might have to give one a good run.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
It has the size (check on tribble) and turn rate of a defiant, the durability of a chel'grett, the boff layout of a vet ship and a special passive which will probably be exploited with rom boffs and stealth skill (if stealth buffs it).
What's the next level on nonsense? A hideki escort with 42k hull, 1.2 shields and 21 turn rate?
At least they successfully destroyed the last reason to play a fedscort or a raptor. And they'll give a second deflector to overused sci ships... This game really becomes a joke, i'm out.

i find it hard to justify rage quiting over any escort, wile warbirds exist
i find it hard to justify rage quiting over any escort, wile warbirds exist
I'm out for a few days ofc
Yeha i know about warbirds but at least there was still a very small reason to use DHCs fleet escorts/raptors (JHAS being super expensive) but now that thing is smaller, much tankier, has a better boff layout and a better turn rate...
Arenas are now about lockbox sci ships and romulans, yet in FvK queues i expect to play with KDF and Starfleet ships...
I thought the design philosophy was to make lockbox ships a little better and more flexible, but this one just like the JHAS is better than fleet ships in every aspect plus it has one of the best possible boff layouts.
So much power creep centered around alien ships is just not my cup of tea.

Maybe it was not clear, they focus around pvp not foundry ...that translates ,we kill pvp first then due to (as seen) not being able to fix foundry exploits we will kill that too.

I hated the casual way that Cryptic made my fedscort main obsolete. That's been my main since I started to play and now Crpytic says "nope, no point in playing this anymore, trololololol!". So I can completely understand the desire to ragequit. For some simply switching mains or gametime focus is no big deal, and that's fine, but for others, it kills the point of playing STO.
I get that Cryptic has a hardon for directing how the players play, it would certainly explain their fetish for adding timegates everyhere. But making fedscorts and raiders obsolete so more players would buy into the romulan BS is beyond a lot of player's tolerance levels.
I think a lot of the fed escorts are still going to be better options overall.
They will also let you vulture that stupid console form the hirogen and use it on your fed escorts or even previous box ships like the elachi or bug. Depending on what that thing gives for dmg bonuses it might make some escorts real painful again.
From what I am seeing you could every 3 or so minutes chain 3 crazy ivan manuvers over a period of time to get an ongoing dmg bonues. Not sure if it will equal the decloak romulan bonuses... still it might.
I don't like the fact that its going to be coming on another lockbox ship that may end up being a ship people just buy to strip a console off... that seems pretty lame. Sounds like they should have just thrown it in the lobi store to me.
Does the console make you automatically face your target or just swing you 180 degrees regardless?
I would have preferred something that kept you aligned to your target whilst orbiting around it, so you could always keep moving whilst having your forward facing weapons pointing at a slow moving target.

Maybe on the next lockbox ship...
It swings you... but in an escort where you are gonig to be in turn battles with other escorts if your doing it right... that is sort of what you want.
The main thing is it gives you an as yet undisclosed damage and defense boost... and it can be spammed 3 times in a row the way it gains and stores charges.
It will go on pretty much all the fed escorts KDF Raptors... and KDF Bops... I could see bops raptors and defiants in cloak pulling the crazy ivan before even uncloaking for the extra dmg bonus.
Considering it can be used once every min... and store up 3 total uses I would hope it doesn't break anythinig. Perhaps provide some ID numbers for some passive resistance.
The new Console shall be dubbed, "FAB Console" "Flip A B%&^H Console"
As for the doffs. Hmm I remember a time where SNB would shut you down totally in space leaving you pray to a killer. I am sorry unless its a single doff only that doff would be OP. The ramming speed doff no, back when RS alphas were annoying not to this becuase of the GDF alpha that is prominent this is stoopid
Hey I Used to be Captain Data, well I guess I still am in game but the account link really screwed everything up

Did I miss something or is this the first lock box in forever without either a faction console trade or a new unique console?
Alpha Deception Field universal console
" (the ?salvaged console? for this lock box) takes this philosophy to the extreme, creating a clever ruse out of a series of holographic generators and well-placed detonations. Activating this complicated set of subsystems causes your ship to appear to explode, leaving behind valuable salvage. In actuality, the salvage is a powerful trap that will ensnare enemies that stray too close, while simultaneously emitting a powerful sensor mask on its owner. Any enemy that attempts to retrieve the salvage will find their ship disabled and damaged, while the owner of the Lure will benefit from ambush bonuses and a complete reset of the cooldown on all bridge officer abilities. These cunning subsystems are all self-contained to the console?s programming, and can thus be fitted on any starship."

Your kidding - that has to be the most useless console ever. There are no loot drops in pvp, so who is going to grab that? And in pve the npc' don't go for loot drops.

Farmerrs in kerrat. lol
If you want to look at it in a hopeful way... perhaps they are getting ready to give us a new space battle pvpve type zone. Something like kerrat but done by the new devs that have done things like the voth ground zone that is obviously better made.

So really just a new kdf trol device as no kdf player is going to be flying around kerrat grabbing random loot - poor noob feddies.

Ya pretty much... I have no idea who dreams up some of these dumb consoles.
Really the first console that we can say 100% has ZERO use in PvE.
We know other consoles where aimed at our pocket books... but this one is pretty blatant. On the up side every one that does no pvp that pulls these will dump them on the exchange cheap... so at least the klinks that really love to troll get a anniversary freebie. lmao

Most real kdf pvp players are too good to waste a console slot on this piece of crappy, so it will really only be used by the lowest of the low trollers.
They will go after this loot. It sends one random nearby enemy an AI command that causes them to move toward it. If that enemy dies, it sends that command to a new nearby NPC target.
Anyway, the problematic elements of a "fake loot" drop were known when we decided to create this power, which is why it also can be prematurely triggered by the person that launches it in order to immediately gain the advantages granted by its expiration. Namely, a complete reset of all Boff ability cooldowns.
There are many options for potential tactics that this console opens up. One shouldn't discount its usefulness as an escape mechanism, as another example.

lol ok then that is pretty funny.
Thanks for letting us know... you guys should have let us know that from the beginning. I would bet that most players read the RP style description and assumed like I did that it would be useless in PvE.
I retract my earlier statement... honestly hunting NPCs like that might actually be slightly fun. lol

Sorry for PvP noob I can see it being fun but no one would go for a shiny in a PvP match and since we know it exists no one would go near it either, basicly an SNB-lite Mine

But that console off the escort is TEMPTING. Damn you guys made a big money-maker choice to let a lot of ships run that console.
Couple of the DOFFs look amusing. SNB one is still making me chuckle.
But can anyone say: B'rel or T'varo for some of those traits and new equipment? I mean, it practically screams it IMO.
if that sounds tempting, just run AtD. you will be quite surprised just what it can do for any escort with a space LT eng

Yeah, been starting to use that MAM DOFF on a couple of toons to try it out. Been loving it so far honestly.
