Yes again. Read the TOS, we were never promised uninterrupted service. Get over it.

I know. Providing service is so 20th century isn't it

Borken for me also, keep getting kicked out while connecting to the login server, furthest I have got is getting to the character screen - after a long time - and then dying soon after I click on them to get into game :(

I'm a Star Trek fan...so that kind of precludes being a DS9 fan.

    Here is what's going on.

First: the blog that says that Q's Winter Wonderland is coming to an end was published.

Q gets mad that some stupid, mortal, big ugly pink bags of water decide what he can and can't do.

So he snaps his fingers, and poof! Login server is down.

I'll ask him to stop this prank. He'll listen to me xD

Instead of wasting money on ARC, go spend it in getting good servers.

You know, that's true. Being a fan of Star Trek doesn't actually preclude somebody from being a fan of something that isn't Star Trek.

As its working for some people (me) and not others, then if it is a problem on PWE's end, then its likely to be a finicky wee beastie.

People have said that about every single version of Star Trek that's out there, therefore in order to be a fan of the franchise, you are not allowed to be a fan of any of it.

Most folks should be able to trace the route from them to the data center to locate where things are going south for them... some folks have done this in the past, and it tends to be the same non-Cryptic/PWE culprits.

TOS, TAS, TNG, VOY, ENT all have something in common that's lacking with DS9.

It's like folks over in Star Wars land being fans of 4-6, but not 1-3. As bad as 1-3 were, they were still Star Wars.

Heck, even Lens Flare and Blinded By Lens Flare still share commonalities with TOS, TAS, TNG, VOY, ENT, and the other ST Films.

Just did that and all is normal for me including a response from the game server and a patch server. Just cant reliably log in.

I agree. I've been asking around in other places and it seems the number one reason why many have walked away from STO is the constant dropped connections.

Having to replay missions from the start after getting dropped, getting dropped while in the middle of an STF.
    It sucks.

The login server is intermittently faulty.
That is,when i change from one toon to another one,the login server prior to the character selection gets stuck on "connecting to login server".

Shouldn't have to do a "work around". The fact that you do suggests the game is broken.

The auth server is simply unreachable (both IP's)
Ping only timeouts and trace goes well till it has to go to the cryptic network I assume.

The last IP that is reachable is from cogentco.com too according to a whois lookup.

Getting annoying now. Works fine for awhile then can't connect. Been like it for a few hours now. If you have one toon not a problem, quite a few then very painful. From a tracert it seems to be the account server or somewhere close to it.

Something to do with the blizzards over there? Need to unfreeze some cables.
