Login Server Down?! (No, regional ISP issue across Atlantic) (old, see other thread)

I can't even get to the character selection :( and I was super excited about this game.

    The holodeck server itself seems up, but the log in server won't respond...

    Currently have to do a full client kill/hard logout in order to change characters. Fast switching is down.

    Meh. Just deadly unstable.
    I continuously get rubberbanding with the eventual disconnect, and must relog in, after that stupid maintenance yesterday. :mad:

    The hamster running login server 208.95.186.32 has died. Any time you draw this login server while logging in or switching, it will not respond and you will time out. Someone needs to go replace the server hamster.

    I managed to log in no problem about 10 mins ago and went to change characters and all I get is "Connecting to the login server" now. According to server status web pages it is online.

    Edit: after numerous long waits on one attempt it goes straight to character page.

    Okay this is going to be very painful if you have more than one toon. It was find last night right after the patch and server came back. What has happend since then?

    ok so yesterday after the maintenance/patch everything was fine i was on for hours i log in today and ive had really bad lag and ive been dc'ed 4 times and the login just keeps timing out what the hell is going on?

    THats just awful.

    Viewed timeline is TOS>TAS>TNG>DS9>VOY>ENT
    literal timeline is ENT>TOS>TNG>DS9>VOY
    TAS

    But way more complicated, as DS9 takes place about 3/4 of the way into TNG (starting) and VOY starts about 1/4 of the way into DS9 :D
    Inertia just means you can do Powerslides in you carrier!

    Yes, the servers are down.. The launcher claims they are up, but every web based server checker I have looked at for STO that works in real time and doesn't just periodically check is claiming that not only the Login server is down but everything save the website is currently down... I almost managed to login about 30 minutes ago but the server mistakenly refused me claiming a version mismatch, when I have exactly what the latest patch gave me.. Haven't gotten any response at all since.

    It appears to be a networking thing, imho...

    Took forever to be able to hit Engage.
    Took forever to select a toon.
    And it's brutally painful actually trying to do anything - though, it can be entertaining. Do a bunch of stuff while the screen appears to be frozen...then give it a moment, and watch it all zip by at super speed!

    Meh...yeah, anyway...

    Then they are having serious routing problems and are not reachable from large chunks of the internet right now, because lots of things are reporting all the servers down and it's not reachable from where I am.

    ADDED: Though it started responding again the moment after I posted this message.

    I was playing just now, did two fed minefields and two gorn minefields, tried swapping onto a 3rd fed character, timed out to the log in server. Logged back in, and uh I can foresee another time out. Which sucks because I still had 3 more gorn minefields to do before the daily resets in 45mins.

    EDIT Lol the game ninja'd me. No sooner had I posted this, I logged back in. :)

    Those aren't --->'s, those are >'s. As in >, <, =, ≤, & ≥ symbols...

    No problems here in the UK, so I'm guessing its a regional problem (It did take a while to log in, but as I was downloading something at the time, I choose to blame that).

    EDIT: Bah. Forgot to mention where I am... Stupid boy...

    Edit 2: Just closed the game and restarted the launcher - Got past that in 20-odd seconds and straight back in no problems.
