TRIBBLE. I had to make a new account since there was no hope for un-ruining the toons on the this one (this is now exclusively my forum account) and I had he Chel Grett on this account but not the new one, and I so badly want it cause I've never had it fail me--fantastic ship. But dang, this frigate looks absolutely epic--maybe I'll get this for my Klingon, and the Plesh Brek for my Romulan and Fed--or dump loads of dilith into Lobi...:D

This is awesome news, the Breen Raider, KDF BoP getting flanking, and a possible Aquarius update (which is badly needed).

Can we get even a hint hint, wink wink - as to whether a lobi store mk12 Breen space set upgrade is being considered now that we have 2 playable Breen ships in game? I believe the mk12 Jen hadar set came out with/shortly after the second dominion ship.

    I wonder...
The Breen Sensor Disruption Field's 3 minute recharge time is reduced to 1 minute 30 seconds recharge if equipped on the Plesh Brek.
Could a similar thing be done with Breen Energy Dissipator for the Chell Grett? I remember using the ability a few times and then throwing the console away due to its 3 minute cooldown, as it makes the console not worth the console slot. Reducing the Energy Dissipator cooldown to 1 minute 30 seconds only on Chell Grett would make it at least somewhat reasonable and worth using.

Any AMATURE pvp'er that are whining about this being "butt" damage is just that an amature, you don't know how to fly an escort in PVP.

This with romulan plasma beams, voth ap, or protonic polaron is gonna pawn. Plus the 5 crith tac consoles that go with it. Imagine no heals on that thing, but 5 romulan tac officers... theres yer DPS for STF's and such, you just gotta know how to heal without bridge officer skills, might have to have a science officer in the LT commander slot with hazard emitters, transfer shield strength, and a grav well, with high aux. And go with 4 romulan tac officers if yer not of the romulan faction. ( for PVP might want a dem in a lt universal slot, with a hull heal like Engineer team 1, just gotta get yer DOFFS right. )

This is awesome, can't wait! Thanks Cyptic! You guys have really been on the ball lately! WOOT!

People aren't complaining about the butt damage because they're pvpers they complaining cause in universe it makes no sense.

A 19 turn rate and a high inertia rating, several Universal BOff slots plus 5 tac consoles, this Breen raider will be just fine for combat.
I have no idea why some are crying foul about it.

I have 4 fleet b'rels so I am used to low shield mod and hull - but I can almost guarantee that all those people with no bop piloting experience will be seeing the respawn button a LOT for the first little while.

It would be cool if we had some nausicaan and orion raiders too. We already have bops with cloaks would be cool to have stuff with non cloaks for the kdf too for any of us who have themed characters lol.

Also it might be what KDF needs to be somewhat unique if they actually stick with the comment of raiders not being a fed or romulan thing. Atleast to fill out our lack of certain ships the feds have would be fine if we had something more in a different area like raiders in general might be a good question to ask in a GoS interview :)

Edit: One tip to give future "raiders" since it is a different plays tyle ship it benefits the player more so to get as high shield regen as possible and then focus rest of the power mainly in weapons and engines because it makes them more survivable the more they can avoid being hit. Some consoles to get that help with this a lot are the 2 newer consoles the shield drain/shield damage resist debuff console, the weapons/power console, and the teleport console... Most likely players using raiders will be using one or more combinations of those with this new ship and people wanting to get into playing bops more so after we get the flanking mechanic on the bops.

One other nice thing is if they will put some boffs and doffs out there to help with cloak cool ldowns for KDF players without having to heavily invest in romulan boffs. Would be nice at the least if we got some doffs that helped reduce the cool down of battle cloaks maybe in their next doff pack lol.

With all those universals even though we don't have it for bops yet anyone who happens to get it early especially with khg space set can make some nice mask energy signature builds :)

I very much so see this ship as rewarding to those who are willing to work with it.

For those used to cloaking, especially with a BoP, and doing hit and run, no real more knowledge is required except that it will simply take more work to deal without a cloak.

For those not used to it, they will most likely either die a lot, or learn to handle it and be rewarded for their eventual skill.

Perhaps we might even see some more folks try out BoPs, or even make KDF toons. Or at the very least, perhaps folks will gain a bit more of an understanding of just what BoPs have to go through to work well.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.

I do have a question. Why not make it like the Avenger so that it can mount a cloak if you have one for the federation, or if you're in the KDF it has a 'stock' one, or they can buy a character bound one for a song and dance. Just curious.

Btw cryptic, thank you for giving feds a raider...

I regret getting my wells/mobius 3p temporal set...but I am stoked to be able to have a raider on my main fed toon.

Wish it was a norg layout, but I know that is a "someday" thing now.

    Thanks again.

Flanking? seriously? It's a lame mechanic on ground and even moreso for space with 360 degree equal shield facings. The flanking damage mechanic should just be removed from both ground and space. ground flanking already has an advantage of not being shot at that is realitic It doesnt need some unbelievable magic more damage shots.

Just remove the flanking damage bonus and make it evasion. That makes more sense for space. + XX% evasion to self - XX% evasion to target. for ground it doesnt need any flanking mechanic added.

Most people who get this ship will never touch PvP - but will be quickly spanked by the Borg they were used to owning in their oddy. I expect quite a few forum tears starting in 26 days.

I was wondering the same. .... Breen ship is just fine.

If anything, I feel the BoP will need an up on their BO stations as the reduction in flanking compensates for presence of the cloak so ....

The ship looks good. The Flanking part to me seems poor thought. since ships has shields, sensors, and weapons on all areas. Oh well at least you gave the raiders some kind of additional edge to help them out.

Which is exactly my point - I would feel fairly confident saying 70% of people getting this ship have never used a low hull/low shield mod bop type ship. This one is like a kdf bop on steroids without a cloak but still. It will be an interesting thing to watch in fedville.

::: shrugs ... Same could be said for when the Avenger came out .... a cannon loaded battle cruiser .... (and although you see those, they aren't everywhere. :) )

Of course BoPs have their charm in that they are more fragile ... so you have to learn the secrets of surviving with them.

The ones looking for the instant understanding and win will table theirs quickly ... the true believers will keep her out.

I'm also betting you will see more on the FED side and a lot of those will likely be KDF players who love the BoP but want it on their FED alts. :)

Honestly, you don't even really need to. I built a Hegh'ta like it was an MVAE, back in Season 5, and did just fine in ESTFs.

On the subject of this ship, it really looks awesome. Good firepower (the 5 tac consoles will compensate for the missing turret), excellent turn rate, and universal slots that allow it to mimic any escort or destroyer available. The durability is a bit low, but more than manageable. I need these for all my toons. Now if only I had a working computer....

i have a question, i earned the corvette from the summer event and when i used it i hated it, very high turn rate, can't take many hits, has cannons etc and as a result i haven't touched it in ages. i like cruisers beams big slow moving and with low turn rate ships, so is there any chance that i will like this ship even a little or should i go for the chel grett ?

Sounds like you'd like the Chel Grett better ... if you had that one (as many do) ... then many of those owners would grind for this one just to get the console. :)

A slow ship like a cruiser isn't going to be able to do a damn thing about it, not when the aggressor gets to pick the attack vector and has twice the turn rate to stay there as long as they like. About the only counter I can think of is get friends to rescue you (repeatedly), and if you're a misanthrope then you may as well not even try playing, since who likes being nothing but a big fat target all the time? The only thing this buff helps is vapers, and the game needs less of those not more.

There are ways to get rid of them. TB, EWP, missiles in the rear, evasives, and dont fly big honkin battleships.
