Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"

Why is it (it seems) that some cat BOFFs do not have access to the various facial patterns?
I've purchased both the Caitian and Ferasan playable species to get access to this costume option, but it seems hit and miss on whether the option is there or not for various BOFFs.

I have not encountered any problems. My first officer was able to user her facial pattern and so have any other cat boffs on both sides.

Well, then, this definitely sucks for me.
I finally started Caitian and Ferasan captains and am having problems with the facial patterns not always showing. It's frustrating, especially since you have to pay Zen to get those BOFFs.

Make 100% you did not overlook it in the face menu.
I'll double check when the game's back up.
I was beginning to wonder if there was a correlation between male/female and/or career with the facial pattern options.

Ok. Seems my "issue" is "resolved". I checked on different Caitians and Ferasans and the facial patterns are "back". I swear they weren't there before, though. And it also seemed like their availability would come and go. Perhaps it's a glitch I'm experiencing with the Tailor where certain options disappear occasionally. I know I've experienced this with customizing my ship on occasion, which I can usually "fix" by exiting and re-entering the ship tailor.

Glad it all worked out.
Enjoy your facial patterns. Now if we could only get some more.
Thanks, I will.
Oh, I quite agree. Some more that mimic real world big cat fur patterns. AND full body patterns. I think it'd be cool to see full-body-tiger-striped Caitians running around Risa during the Lohlunat Festival.

We need more real-life cat patterns. I want to make a cheetah, Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard etc.
Agreed.
Since the Federation have Caitians and the Klingons have Ferasans (based on the Kzinti from TAS), perhaps Cryptic could make the Vedala (also from TAS) for the Romulans as BOFFs and a playable species.
Purchasing all three playable species could unlock the real-life cat patterns.

i want to make a puma, so i can recreate ravage from beast wars: transformers as closely as possible...then i want a pair of dual pistols that don't suck and have laser pointers attached to them

Well, yeah, obviously. The Ferasans are based on the Kzinti, which also had a horrible look in TAS, but Cryptic made them look awesome for STO. They basically just do the same feline body model for the Vedala and give them some unique, stripey patterns. Then give us the real-world full-body fur patterns for purchasing all three playable species.

I dunno about the Vedala.... they seemed a bit... OP. the Vedala asking the Feds for assistance was a bit like the Feds asking the Acamarians or Pakleds for assistance...
