    Enhanced Induction Coils
---short duration increase to your weapons and engine power levels
---repairs disabled weapons and engine subsystems

    Shield Destabilizer
---generates a large Tachyon field around your ship which will drain shields/shield power
    ---cannot activate while cloaked

    Problems with those consoles:

Short duration increase of power levels: This is essentially a poor copy of the fed side enhanced plasma manifold. Why a poor copy? The power bonus will be less (fed gives 25) and the effect is also less effective because its on a very long timer.

Shield destabilizer: An interesting concept but the amount of shields drained is as weak as the useless tachyon beam ability. shield power drain is directly countered by the power insulator stat which means its as ineffective as polaron power drain effect ..or siphon..or tyken.. you get the idea.

There really is no point in going KDF Romulan now because the obvious advantages are all @ Fed Rommy now.
    .

    absolutely.

allying with the kdf as a romulan is outright stupid now. Thanks to the one-sided benefit of cross-faction consoles the roms can get every kdf powerful console...thanks to allying with federation they get access to elite fleet phaser proc which makes MONSTER tanks on cruisers...and they too get elite kdf proc because cryptic decided to give everyone the 25% shield resist reduction proc on a universally available weapon.

what does the kdf offer the romulans? nothing. absolutely nothing they cant already get for free and cheaper on the fed side.

My Roms will for the most part still go KDF side, or at least my Rom and Lib Rom will, simply because the availability of my toys dont depend on somebody opening a box and sharing the contents on the exchange for ec I generally dont have anyway.

I just wish people hadnt shouted about how useful the cloaked torp was as it will now be super expensive on the exchange

Once again: FALSE. The Lockbox weapon =/= Elite Disruptors. The Lockbox weapons have a bigger bleedthrough proc, while the Elite Disruptors lower shield resist.

What is the difference between those two procs in terms of how damage is dealt? Not trolling, I honestly don't know, but they sound very similar in terms of how they're going to work.

Nanite Disruptors increase the amount of bleedthrough the shields take (damage that goes directly to the hull).

IE: (using completely made up numbers) A ship with a normal 10% bleedthrough shield will suffer 15% bleedthrough while under the effects of the proc.

Elite Disruptors increase the amount of damage done to the shield.

Marauding, and all of the sweet, sweet contraband that comes with it. :P

I can promise you that Feds will never get that. The notion of it runs counter to everything the Federation stands for.

Also...I'm 100% certain that every Romulan or Reman I make will be KDF-allied. I already own the leech, so there's no reason for me to roll Fed Rommies and pay through the nose to get it over there.

I was going to take my Rom to the KDF side initially. It had nothing to do with consoles, powers or anything it simply felt right.

The constant complaining and whining in every klingon forum has really made me change my mind. I really don't want to play with a group that is so focused on these small petty things that they don't simply enjoy their faction.

Which in essence amounts to the same thing if the damage is done within a short period of time and if the magnitude of increased bleedthrough is sufficient.

ok so one does more shield damage and the other does more hull. Thanks for the clarification.

Hah, no it's not. The Elite Disruptors lower shield resistance by about 25%. A much more useful proc with all the resist stacking. This new lockbox weapon is basicly the difference between a Resilient and a Coveriant shield.

Edit: Err, 25% is off the top of my head.

The leech console is not equivalent to the gas sensor torp console. Do you know how many times I was able to outrun one of those things while cloaked? Those things are a joke.

P.S. why are my post counts not going up? I have been losing posts without any moderator interaction. Look to the left at the current number, 258, and then go up one post and it is still 258. The next day when I go to search for my posts, they are gone, because I have posted these same responses previously-- that is why I activated the email subscription to this thread.

Sheesh, all those whining about ONE frickin' console taking away an advantage from the KDF? Back in the AD&D days we had a word for people like you...."MUNCHKINS!". Only playing a particular character for the advantages it could give you.
Well, I have a piece of advice for you....DON'T PLAY!!!! If this burns your TRIBBLE sooooo much, then just go away and find another game you can munchkin on.
Granted, this is coming from someone who cares very little about playing as KDF. I do it because the slot is locked for it, so might as well use it for that purpose instead of lying fallow. BUT, by choice I much prefer playing my Fed characters. And yes, just about all my Rihan characters will be Fed-aligned. Not because of any player, not because of any equipment, but because it's what I want to do.
SO again, those that are whining and complaining about this, while you're certainly entitled to your opinion, I don't really care to hear it, because it just smacks of power-gaming/min-maxing/ & munchkinism, not because it's honestly making things "less fun" to play a KDF-themed character.

And to those that are saying they LIKE playing as KDF, because they like the Klingons, or just wanted to try it, and found out they really like playing as them, "Good For You". That's the kind of thing I like to see, people having FUN with what they are playing. To them, Happy Hunting, and I hope enjoyment of your game time is yours!

Cardie Lockbox - Graviton Pulse for Impulse Capacitance Cell.

Ferengi Lockbox - Theta Radiation for Photonic Displacer

Tholian Lockbox - Subspace Jump for Point-Defense System

Temporal Lockbox - Isometric Charge for Antimatter Spread

Dominion Lockbox - Bio-Neural Warhead for Nadeon Detonator.

Tal Shiar Lockbox - Plasmonic Leech for Ionized Gas Sensor

To me, especially with the upgrade to the Ionized Gas Sensor console and the fact that some KDF were complaining about not having any cloaking detection, the trade is just about fair.

The only Universal Consoles Fed has left that is not ship specific is as follows...

    Enhanced Plasma Manifold (Oberth)
    Grappler (NX)
    Resonance Cascade Modulator (Steamrunner)
Tachyon Detection Field (T3 Nebula, the Tachyon Detection Grid is T5 Nebula specific)
    Transwarp Computer (T3 Excelsior)

The Universal Consoles the KDF has left that is not ship specific is as follows...

    Aceton Assimilator (Draguas)
    Barrier Field Generator (Phalanx)
    Magnetometric Generator (K't'inga Refit)

And the 2 new consoles for the 2 new KDF C-Store ships which I can't remember the names of.

I'm guessing that eventually Starfleet and the KDF will be trading these 5 consoles over 5 more Lockboxes.

I hardly even see nadion or impulse burst much, they aren't that useful. Nadion was nerfed awhile back so you can't make 3 shockwave torps, and if you are chasing someone with impulse burst all they have to do is turn, and KDF tends to be chasing more then running so its not so useful. Only 1 console KDF uses all the time, that is AMS, while I see Feds abusing those 2 consoles all the time, and I'm sure the leech will be near universal with them. Lots of Feds also use the subspace jump a lot, it will be used even more with low turn warbirds.

I'm not going to whine so much, but the gloves are coming off. I got in my tac B'rel, kept mining their spawn and camped the Feds at kerrat all day yesterday in protest over this nonsense and will be doing that all the time now. I also would go back to the KDF spawn and mine that right before reset. After that I got in my sci B'rel and kept sci spamming Feds while cloaked as they were about to blow repair hulks making them lose.

I can't take leech away from Feds, but can get revenge in Kerrat for them whining so much until they got leech handed to them.

Glad to see outraged Klink losing it over one single console...whereas all this time, we were told it's not OP at all because you know, after power insulator resist, it's not even 10 pts of power loss per subsystem.

So why all this anger & "protest"?

Wait, as an exclusively Federation captain, I can't contain my joy of seeing some Klignon going completely nuts over this - it would make their pacification that much easier and as well as Klignon empire's eventual subjugation. :)

Truth to be told, my pvp build has 144 in Flow Capacitors without using any dedicated FC consoles. It can drain about 80 in power combining both ES3 and Subsystem Targeting with the latter set up for 2 sub targeting at once. Effectively, I can drain up to 80 in power in two key subsystems simultaneously, say Engines and Weapons. With this new console for the Federation, this will be as close as 100 in power drain by a single player - again, without using any dedicated flow capacitor consoles.

As such, this will make a fine new addition to my repertoire, meaning more painless ascension for Klingnon whose ships will float lifelessly in space due to massive power loss.
