KDF do not have access to the point defence console the OP was talking about.
The OP mentioned the torpedo point defense, that console comes on the Akira HEC, the point defense console the KDF got from one of the last boxes was the other one, can't recall the ship it came on.
I bet if you show me a screen shot it will prove you do not have the console we are talking about. Unless I missed something there is no way for KDF to get it.

I checked the wiki article for confirmation and it says KDF cannot get it. A screen shot will prove he has a different console then being talked about. As far as I can see KDF can only get 1 of the 3 point defence console.
Which is the wrong console. KDF cannot get the point defence console which was being talked about and I am pretty sure they cannot get the Automated Defense Point turret console either, but I could be wrong on that.
and the torpedo point defense console is ship specific to the armitage. you can not even equip it to another ship other than the armitage if you are a fed.
I was actually hoping this would be the next cross-faction console for KDF. It fits in very well with a build of mine. The only problem is, I hadn't planned to have console space for it!

STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

The one the OP was griping about is HEC-only. If he is going to complain about that, he might as well add Multi-Vector Assault Module, Phase Shift Generators, the Saucer Separation console or the Subspace Snare to the list...
We all knew that this was going to happen eventually and considering the KDF has already gotten the worthwhile Fed consoles it's just logical that they're going to be on the short end of those deals from now on.

Personally the whole Feds get an amazing KDF console and KDF get a terrible Fed one hilarious. Considering 80% of the Fed console aren't used by Fed players to begin with. On my fed toons, they all at least have 1-2 KDF faction consoles. On my KDF toons, none of them are using a Fed universals. :P

Just chillax people and don't overwhealm yourselves for sth. everyone knew was comming. I don't like the console sharing simply because I believe it's erasing the borders between the factions. I look forward to depleting all the consoles that are up for exchange, then Cryptic might actually do sth. new with the consoles.
On another note, I have many reasons I like to play KDF over Fed. Guess what? The plasmonic leach is not one of them.

This is on top of a new lockbox that you know every no-talent Federation petaQ will be mass-attacking honest KDF players with and patting themselves on the back about it. Oh, but you couldn't POSSIBLY give the KDF a 5-tac console escort or an escort with 5 weapons to the fore, or an escort that can actually match what the Federation has.
So, what do we KDF have now? Aceton Assimilators, which you'll probably peddle to the gutless, incompetent Federation swine eventually? Raptors that don't present an even match to Federation escorts? Battlecruisers that aren't as great as Federation morons would like to claim? BoPs that can be shredded with 1-2 alphastrikes even with TT + EPtS up? Carriers that haven't been such a big edge for a long time now, thanks to more of your backstabbing? Meanwhile, Federation KEEPS their edge in escorts and science ships, and now get cloaking ships (oh, but under the guise of 'Romulans').
