the OP isn't asking for a T5 Constitution, he's asking for a T5 Constellation; entirely different design of ship

OMG... I've seen so many T5 Constitution posts... (I gotta stop smoking this stuff.) Sorry, my bad.

That ship was pretty old too. I believe the Picard said that they had a hard time keeping it running.

he certainly had no trouble giving orders while piloting the Enterprise-E in the briar patch...of course, he was piloting with a frikkin' joystick at the time...

Perhaps after his failure in Generations he upgraded his skillset to include multitasking.

Bleckth. Now that I can agree with you on. Why'd you have to go and remind me? :(

well, to be fair, the 2 words look similar enough that it's easy to make that mistake, especially since, as you said, you can't go more than 2 feet in these forums without face-planting over a T5 Connie thread

The constellation class is to my knowledge the only canon carrier for the federation, I think it should be present as a carrier option for folks who would like to fly a carrier, but also like canon ships. Throw in some Galileo-type shuttles or type-f shuttles as hanger items, and I would be even happier!

That's a ship I can live w/o. Plus we already have something near to it.
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

    Wrong thread?

Anyways, if they're going to release a T5 New Orleans, there's nothing stopping them from adding a new skin to the Fleet Cheyenne so Walker Keel and Jack Crusher fans can make a real USS Stargazer to tool around in.

No, right thread. A T5 constellation will be the equivalent of a T5 connie. It's a small ugly poor looking 2 century-old ship. :D

But at least a T5 version of this one could make sense, since these ships were still active during the dominion war.

Isn't there a T5 B'rel Bird of prey already? Those are just as old. At any rate, I'm pretty sure the Constellation is a newer ship than the Connie, considering Picard served on one.

My personal theory is that when the Connies were scrapped, they used their saucer sections as the basis for the Constellation class, adding the docking ring around it and the four pylons.

At any rate, it is the only canon federation carrier, so there is that going for it.

Say what? It's nothing like a Constitution. And not 200 years old.
The Excelsior is older than the Constellation class.

The Constellation isn't a carrier in any episode I've seen (and I've seen them all). It's a canon ship, but it's never seen operating as a carrier.
Do you see that ring around the thinckened constitution saucer? That's all hanger space. Check out some of the schematics on ex-astris or someplace similar.

No such schematics exist, there is only the MSD that shows no indication that is hangar space.

Not to say the ship itself DATES BACK to the Excelsior, a carrier in TSO movie era? ... how about the Stargazer? did Picard say to launch ever Zing for Great Justice?

I dont think so Tim ...

Its fancrud, very DUMB fancrud I might say.
Actually, the schematics, from Ex Astris, which I referenced, do show that that area is reserved for shuttles. From Star Trek: The Magazine, and about as canon as the existance of the Saladin class.

And the Kumari was around several hundred years before that, and the Vulcan ship around at the time of First Contact. They're not old at all....

    1) Kirk never raised it's (the 1701's) shields.

    2) If you're saying the Connie should be dead/reduced in Tier due to being owned by a Miranda in the above situation; for all you TNG Galaxy fans, I present:

So, yeah, given the above video from a Ds9 episode, WHY is the (now 50+ year old) Galaxy Class Tier 5 again?:P:;)

Yeah, I know the Producers wanted to show how badass the Dominion was, but a more honorable destruction could have been given.

Actually, on the front of the Constellation's saucer, is a large shuttlebay door. So, carrier possibly, a mobile repair base possibly, or red herring possibly.

The Constellation could be the first true healer in the game, with the launching of a massive repair drones.

WHOAH, that is blowing it's size way out of proportion. But I agree when it hits it should have a tier 5 version.

Constellation is never referenced as a carrier. The only Starfleet ship ever described as a carrier (though it is never shown directly in that role) is the Akira

The Saladin appears on-screen as displays in ST:II and III. They're blink and you'll miss it appearances, but they're there. Which is more than can be said for the schematics you're referencing.
