A TRIBBLE Germany reference in a thread about a fictional Roman Empire in space. Godwin is proven right once again.

Godwin is in many ways just like those he condemns

He is basically trying to prevent debate by saying "you compared people to elvis"

Not really. Godwin's Law demonstrates the lengths people go to to "win" a debate.

"Hitler liked 'X', so if you like 'X' you must be a TRIBBLE."

    See how dumb that is?

Hitler liked candy, dogs, children, Mickey Mouse, and wanted cigarrett packages to come with warning labels.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand, I really want the TOS and TNG Rommie uniforms if nothing else.

I only hope the DS9 era uniforms are available, I like them more than any of the others, with the Nemesis ones coming in second, and the Neutral Zone ones in third.
Though a pipe dream I had wished the TAS one to be available.

    check the shoulder pads

Then look at the TNG Romulans

Hardly surprising since one thing is a uniform while the other is a lifeform (admittedly a fictional one)

Honestly, I like either the "Neutral Zone" uniforms (the ones seen in the episode and then never again) or the Nemesis ones. The massive shoulderpads just never appealed to me. Even for the 80s they were rather out there.

That's EXACTLY the sort of post Hitler would make.
If CBS were to weigh in on the topic, they'd set em all straight. That stuff is too old to be top tier uniforms in this century!

    ;)

FYI the Romulan uniforms in Nemesis are 200 years old. O>o

he is long dead and gone and anyone who still thinks like him belongs in a museum or a maximum security mental unit

BUT he did have great taste in cars

If the mods lock this thread, that's basically Cryptic giving up on the Romulan Faction before April! That's Cryptic saying the feedback process isn't viable, and discussion about the Romulan features is pointless. Do you really want that? You want Cryptic to ignore Romulans ALREADY?

That happens and the faction will have lost a lot more than its spark.

    :(

What needs to happen is they need to create a Romulan Gameplay Sub Forum with a QUICKNESS. And then just move the threads to forum oblivion. That way it looks like they are tidying up the forums, while essentially killing the convo with no mess or fuss.

I just feel this thread, and particularly the topic of Romulan clothing would be most fitting here, along with many posts detailing the many Romulan outfits we've seen in canon as a resource for art team devs (no doubt they've their own, but even so). Besides, this thread got Godwinned hard :P

Romulan subforums would be most welcome, if not just for the infinite promise afforded by a virgin forum in which soon-to-be (or always-secretly-have-been  ) Team Greens can discuss All Things Romulan, and espouse various Romulan ideologies, their merits, and their leaders, from D'tan to Sela to the Tal Shiar, and their place in STO's galaxy, and just what LoR has in store for us. It would feel like being in the Romulan Senate chamber.

I do wonder how long before Romulans get one of their own of these. Hopefully they won't need one though :o

At least you're not all TIGER STRIPES RAWR like the Chair Force.
Digital camoflage is not a bad concept. And the marine version is nice. The army version has poorly chosen colors and doesn't blend in with much of anything....
Like the Romulan Alliance System? Of course you do, it sounds fine to you because you aren't Romulans, you're FED or KDF who are going to make a Romulan alt, it makes a HUGE difference in perspective.

No, it demonstrates how easy it is to start a meme on the internet.

Although Star Trek has always been a bit out there when it comes to outfits (TNG especially), I think the Romulan outfits were meant to look strange, impractical and uncomfortable. DS9 toned down the square shoulders a little, but Odo still felt the Romulans could use a decent tailor.

Glad I got out when it was still either the blues or the OG507 greens. Sounds like somebody at the Pentagon is a frustrated fashionista.

On the other hand, the Air Farce is all about planes and bombs and missiles - it's not like they need to sneak up on someone at less than 600 miles an hour and 20,000 feet up...

You should have seen the original prototype; blue tiger stripes:

And you should see a prototype change to the Air Force Service Uniform:

the first one almost looks good... almost, the colors stink.

the second one.... Gestapo much? Seriously, it reminds me of the black SS uniforms, except with LESS decorations.

IMHO, the blue tiger stripes look better because the top is tucked in. I've always said that the Army should go the way of the British and have soldiers tuck thier tops in when in a garrison enviroment outside a combat zone. It looks neater.

Then again, I'm one of the few that seemed to like the beret, so what do I know...

Hmm... I dunno, that seems like it'd get annoying after a while. Tshirts are easy to tuck in, light jackets? not so much. wearing a belt over it would kinda work though.

I aint tucking my blouse in no way no how ;) I thought the blue looked a LOT better mainly because you're the you know AIR force, plus I am a fan of the Navy's cammies.

The prototype service uniform is just...off...although it is kind of like the Marine Dress Blue's blouse except designed by a pocket fetishest, seriously, why so many bloody pockets
