FKA K-Tar, grumpy Klingon/El-Aurian hybrid. Now assimilated by PWE.
Sometimes, if you want to bury the hatchet with a Klingon, it has to be in his skull. - Captain K'Tar of the USS Danu about J'mpok.
Although I feel it's too soon to be demanding things from a faction most thought was mythical two days ago when we don't even know the plan yet......
If you don't know the plan then... *no words*
The plan IS simple. generate new players (customers) and entice old players to the game therefore generating more profit.
There is no game made in this world for anything other than money, while some of the devs may be proud of the things the have created (and so some should be) at the end of the day it's a business and the world of gaming is big bucks, there is no passion or anything like that anymore.
hence why players get so upset all the time.
this applies to all games, not just STO.

Honestly they're okay enough, but they don't look very "Romulan" to me. In fact they look like slightly redone winter jackets.
I do hope we'll get other options, such as the TOS uniforms, and the Nemesis uniforms (about the only good thing to come out of that crime against humanity).
100% agree... don't like, they look like a winter cloth remix, and they look like some sort of off duty clothing,
not very Romulan
*hope that there is a lot more*
do not want another Faction with only like 3 clothing options like the KDF.
It's their call.
Now here's my thoughts on their thoughts. What they're thinking is probably that those uniforms are from the Romulan Star Empire. Which, in game, no longer exists. The Romulan Republic has its own uniforms. The RSE uniforms are too old and represent another government entirely.

So CBS says no.
Meanwhile Starfleet can run around dressed like the Terran Empire?
Meanwhile Starfleet can run around dressed like the Terran Empire?
Again, bullcrap.
Starfleet is still Starfleet. Earth was never destroyed. They never splintered into two starfleets. They didn't have to form some new military unit. They stayed consistent through the past few decades. Unlike the Romulan navy.
And you know, it's the feds. They represent 85 to 88 percent of this game's playerbase.
But this new faction? It's still unsure of how much of a profit they'll be. So why risk ruining the IP over uniforms that are too old? It's ... hmmmm ... what's the right word? Ah yes, Absurd to have too old stuff running around in 2409. Shouldn't you agree?
I don't want to hijack this thread, but I wouldn't expect more costume options than the KDF currently has TBH.
Unless the faction takes off in huge numbers that equal dollar signs that is.
While I do agree we should have the basic Romulan uniform to choose from, Just look at Obisek and his band of merry Remans from that featured episode.
They were all wearing rags. The Romulans/Remans lost their home. They're refugees and pioneers now.
And in a sense, till the faction takes off, we as new Romulan faction players will be too.
So the story is, we have technology to go faster than the speed of light, create black holes and we have replicators but different outfits are just too COMPLEX, it would take too many resources lmao
Try again.
Obviously they said a costume takes 3 weeks, a ship takes 2 so no we shouldn't expect greatness - just don't get it twisted saying it has anything to do with story.
If we had to stick to story you could create any outfit you wanted in any color using your ships replicator, for free.
I am not stressed out though, from season 7 we know you can't count on items being in the game including t5 gear until you actually see it.
As far as we know those winter coat jackets are bugged until season 9 or later
The new uniform is alright, im sure it would look nicer in a dark gray and black scheme. However I still want the Nemesis uniforms, and the pointy shouldered ones the NPCs currently have.
We need the more traditional Romulan uniforms, so that we can be camouflaged while doing covert missions in carpet and drapery stores.
They need to "protect" the uniforms, but those ships are alright? That's amusing to say the least. Gravity and planetary proximity is a restricting fashion factor now? :P
The greater the distance from the source, the greater the distance from the following of that source. Strange that it should turn out to be a game of pushing the source away now, when it has been a game of digging up *all* the old and fossilized bones before.
In that case: The rules have not only changed. They have curiously enough been reversed.

LOL,
Not looking for a debate on this. Just an opinion as all.
Regardless, given the game's history, I wouldn't expect much, at least not at first.
Aye. I see a vortex there. Is that not a nod to the singularity propulsion system? If so, it's above and beyond appropriate.
Edit: Didn't see the above post at the time of writing.

Do not worry. I am sure you are right, it is a nod to their black hole cores. Which is logical for the engineers, as in the series they mostly work with their energy cores.
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.
Not liking the Romulan uniform found here, specifically in the lower left. I prefer the uniforms shown throughout the ST movies and shows. Even in the Legacy of Romulus page, Sela's uniform is more traditional, which I like (from what we can see). Even the Tal Shiar's is alright. The New Romulans are dressed like bums.
More and more I see it, I wouldn't mind a skirt with some thigh highs as a option, after all we have both Federation and Klingon TOS uniforms, why not Romulan as well?
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
According to Wishstone, CBS said NO to the Romulan uniforms from the shows.
Can you point to where this was stated? I'm not doubting your word, considering a dev already disparaged the TOS and TNG uniforms, but I am curious of the exact quote.

It's alright I've already sent an agent back in time to kill Hitler and this conversation will never happen.

That's how everything started.

Why should the Federation get all the ugly NPC uniforms....then again Why do KDF NPC's get better uniforms.
Excuse me Mr. Crewmen...may I have that coat

Although it also looks a lot like a Pinwheel.
My character Tsin'xing
I call bullcrap. Why the hell would they deny that? What would be the point?

We also need this: http://t7ak.roblox.com/4b76621f1fd3f73e92019b16b5a3f314
And the TOS helmet is a must: http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080813224145/memoryalpha/en/images/c/ca/Romulan_scope_operator.jpg Seriously.
From what I see in the video, there are two uniform variants. And the one without the collared undershirt I like the most.
Parallels: my second mission for Fed aligned Romulans.

Id prefer the TOS one
The Engineering one I dont see anything. The science and tac though, stargates and chaos undivided, really?
for spoiler text use #1b1c1f
I think he's trying to imply it looks like the Swastika. Honesytly it looks more like a sun or black hole to me with the circle in the center...
Blood for the Blood God!
Now enjoy your daily Khorne flakes with Green vulcan flavouring, thanks to our Romulan cultists!
It is the symbol of the romulan singularity cores, I am sure of it. So, as you said, a black hole.

I doubt thats supposed to be a bridge... looks more like it could be the Rom version of the Shipyard.
Remember, it's part of the character creator. more than likely the background in it is just a little change for the makeover.
