I fail to see why so important of a ship,?,? Is it the bonus tact console? If that is it & your in a fleet where you can get a fleet defiant then your in good shape. Beyond that what makes it so awesome?

It has 5 tac consoles, 4 eng consoles, a good boff layout, high durability, a very high turn rate, a very high impulse modifier, and a potentially useful proc when paired with the Jem Hadar space set. In terms of overall qualities, it's pretty much the best ship in the game. It allows you to outrun, outshoot, and outtank damn near anything.
Well to each his own:). It's a neat ship! But compare to fleet defiant "also has 5 consoles" I just don't see the craze. That is assuming you have a fleet that has made a T3 base. I for one love the 5 consoles. It is a game changer on my Defient. But this attack ship has been sought after for years. 200 mill cost at times. That is why I'm after it.
Btw I did hear of something to do with being pared with the carrier

The speed and turn rate is unmatched by any other ship (speed modifier for defense, and turn rate for out maneuvering your opponents in pvp). It has a 1.0 shield modifier (Which is what most cruisers get) and a 34,500 hull rating (about 5,000 bellow what some cruisers get). Combine that with 2 universal bridge officers for plenty of customization. The 5 tactical consoles guarantee a heavy hitter, 4 engineering slots for plenty of resists, and the 1.0 shield modifier with a science console still means decent shields.
The ship isn't so overpowered that you're going to go around and one shot skilled players. Nor will it suddenly make a low skilled captain amazing. But, a well built attack ship in the hands of a skilled pilot is a beast. Ships like the fleet defiant, kumari and fleet advanced escort come close, but no cigar lol.
had some ec already. Sold total 80 fleet packs, opened 1 out of curiosity and got TRIBBLE which was a warning from the beyond not to play the lottery. I am not sure how many bugship there might have been in those packs. Maybe 50?
Bought a bug for 240 mil yesterday. Both bugganaught and bugship are in packages for now as I am quite satisfied with my Krenn (bought from exchange too).
if you do PvE a lot then having this ship is kinda waste of money/ec as you can do pretty much the same in any ship with good weaponry, consoles and boff layout (I was doing great in destroyer). However, in PvP zone, let's say bugship is a favorite target in anyone's cross hairs.
On the otherhand, having it is like a trophy wife (or mail order bride). You may not use it but you sure parade it around
Grinding for MkIV epic gear?
Ain't Nobody Got Time for That
This is the first promotion I have not participated in since I joined.
And I feel strangely elated. I am missing the bug from my collection, but like so many others I'm waiting to buy it on the exchange. Yesterday a team mate picked up the bug for 52 million - clearly a miss-post - but the seller never complained.
I'm holding back my money until they do something truly amazing - or they fix *some* of the #workingasintended issues

It's a required purchase if you want to use the special Hangers for the Jem HEC and Dreadnought. Kind of a necessity actually if you want the full set.
The big difference seems to be the universal consoles and the extra turn rate. Personally my JHAS is sitting on the exchange at a price of 500 million until I decide if I want to use it or not.
There seems to be plenty on the exchange but most are near the 400 million range.
For the love of jezus people. How short is your memory? Have you forgotten who we are dealing with here? How can you fall for the same trick over and over again like this. STOP GAMBLING. Your feeding the giant troll thats in control of this game with money and then whine about it? Seriously? Please .... just ..... STOP -_-
If people who gamble actually let facts dictate it, we would have no cassinos anywhere in the world...
I keep seeing alot of people with a number and a generic name winning, two times it just said @andaname no first name. Seems fake. I don't trust it. Lots of the names I took screenshots of with fraps, when the dominion boxes came out, I've mailed those people about a month or more later and several of the accounts didn't exist anymore.
They should just put ships and consoles on the store so we can straight out buy them. Or at least just sell ships through their lobi system, so I at least know I can get what I want. This lottery system they do is as bad if not worse than gearbox falsely advertising aliens colonial marines.
saying you get "nothing" is a bit unfair. That "junk" can be sold. In real life lottery, you can'd do the same with the piece of paper.
I would have sold it in exchange and let someone else open it. You could have bought a temporal destroyer which is pretty much on the par with bug ship (assuming you do much of PvE and do accolade hunting).

I am vouch for that claim. I saw it with my own eyes. The odds of that happening are unbelievable. I opened 5 DOFF packs and failed it obtain a ship as well. I really wonder what the drop rate is or how many people have been buying and opening these things. I know people have stated its 1/100, but there seems to be way too many people's names flying across the screen.
You also have your name flying when you buy one from the exchange. Maybe even when taking it from mail or bank, I don't know.
So yeah, bought 15+ Fleet Officer Packs and no Jem'Hadar Attack Ship. Meanwhile the chatbox was flying by with dozens of people who had gotten it while I was opening my packs. Along with people in chat complaining that it took them 5-9 packs to get it. Well that is a giant load of TRIBBLE that you can't even make the odds good enough for me to get it when I opened double to triple what other people did.
Yeah, Perfect World, you won't be getting another dime from me. Thanks for stealing my money. Fkn lame.
And I sold 15 Fleet Officer Packs and bought me a sweet TRIBBLE Temporal Destroyer with the ISS designation that I've wanted since giving up on getting a Romulan or Dominion ship. So thank you.
Lottery systems are fine, but the sure thing is to get into the supply side of it, bide your time, build your fortune, then the EC exchange will take care of your needs. Fleet Officer Packs translate to about 4 million credits a piece, 15 of them would be 60 million. JHAS sell for about 600m so... you're about a 10th of the way there. When the JHAS ship is not on the block, master keys sell for about 1.4m and FSM sell for about 4m.
You also have your name flying when you buy one from the exchange. Maybe even when taking it from mail or bank, I don't know.
No. I've bought ships on the exchange, taken them from mail and bank, and got them from packs. You only get your name flying across the screen when you get it from the packs. The annoying part is you almost instantly get tells asking to buy it for far less than it's worth.
come to think about it, a new feature that lets you play poker like on the next generation series, vs other players would be neat. (though texas hold em, not seven card stud)
with a 5% fee, when a pot reaches a certain amount of currency.

Sorry but the house always wins when it comes to games of chance.

I don't think you have your exchange filters set correctly, you want to be selecting the reward packs sub category before searching.
Doing an all/all search is very buggy, and I seem to remember it being that way since day 1.
Wait! You didn't win the (what is essentially a) lottery?! OMG im so sorry.
BTW, RNG is RNG.
Wrong it's not an RNG
it's a PRNG thats actaully more than a little broke by poor entropy management.
And yes to answer OP, this company knows it can rip people off and it does, simple as that, until the majority stop wanting lock boxes (never going to happen) nothing will change.
My honest advice is there are better games out there that won't fleece you but none of them have the Star Trek IP, which is the only thing that is seemingly keep a lot of players in this game.

Same here. Lots of commodities however.
I like the old purple item version; at least was it more often than not worth it.

Sometimes the best way to win is to not play.
and your math i off. during the promo the packs are on sale for 233.
so its technically about 27 keys worth of Zen.
1 ship - on the 3rd from last box!
No fleet modules at all.
