Here's my Jem'Hadar Attack Ship results: Opened Absolutely Nothing; Saved a bunch of ZEN, Dilithium, and RL money; Did Not Support Stupid Lockbox Lottery Scam

The only bugs I got were the ones that Cryptic has never fixed. #workingasintended

Dito. Just did the best I could do and didn't spend my hard earned money on scrap boxes.

40 boxes and No Jem'Hadar ship.
Got 4 fleet mods, disruptor MkXII, Shield Emitter Array MkXII but the rest are garbage. This is also demoralising as you see the name of others who was issued a Jem'Hadar attack ship on the screen. This makes me feel like turning off the game and be done with it.

Its galling but don't let it get to you. Learn from this, internalize that the odds are so slim you're better off not trying for it or limit yourself to only 10 boxes each promo, kinda like buying a weekly lotto ticket.

Just think that you are in a casino where winners name is displayed in a huge screen followed by an announcement in a megaphone :D
This psychological effect may force weak and feeble minds to play the lottery

I wasn't actually after a JHAS and didn't get one. I opened 10 packs for the doffs and sold another 10 on the exchange in under 5 minutes. The 45 mil EC is getting stashed away for a later date.
I bought a total of $250 dollars worth of zen and spent all of it as of now. I have nothing to show for it except some Lobi crystals and worthless doff's.
If you were willing to spend $250 on a chance to get the JHAS you could have simply sold all those doff packs on the exchange for 4+ million EC each and gotten more than enough to just buy the ship outright.

I didn't realise you could sell DOff packs on the Exchange. Heh, I've been shoving them in my Account bank for my alts, but I might as well sell them I guess.

Im at #108 and still nothing, no ship modules, no attack ship. Just a few blue qualtiy alien artifacts.

I bought a total of $250 dollars worth of zen and spent all of it as of now. I have nothing to show for it except some Lobi crystals and worthless doff's.

I only wanted the JHAS for the access to the hangar pets for my dreadnought but it seems I will not acquire it before its gone. I would buy it from exchange but with the ridiculous amount people are asking for it, I will not be able to afford it from there. If it was anything more than just another escort I may try, but 20 turn rate does not sell it for me.

I am now done handing this company money :)

    Good luck!

Why spend 250$ only to open the packs only to get JHAS while u could just have bought keys, sold keys and bought JHAS on exchange?

The point still stands. Lockbox or Doff pack "chance to win", it's the same scam with different prizes.

Don't get mad at me because you weren't smart enough to see this for what it was. ;)
Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and the players love it! No, seriously! ...Why are you laughing so hard? :(

Unlike lockboxes, duty officer packs always have useful items. The JHAS/Fleet Modules/Lobi are nice incentives, but the duty officers within are quite nice. The Very Rare Biochemists in the duty officer packs sell for 20 million EC and the Damage Control Engineers sell for 25 million the last time I checked. Those prices have dropped a bit due to the pack promo, but prices will rise after the promo ends. Duty officer packs are most certainly not a scam. The packs clearly advertise that the chance to get the modules/JHAS is a small chance (exact wording is "rare chance at a JHAS").

opened 5, got no ship but got 3 powered alien artifacts, 10 nepeta leaves and 10 embassy provisions to go with the 3 blue con/tac cooler officers. Not a bad haul IMHO. It was the 100 DOFF bump I bought that hurt my bank.

    How is it a "scam"??

    scam (skm) Slang
    n.
A fraudulent business scheme; a swindle.
    tr.v. scammed, scam?ming, scams
    To defraud; swindle.

That would mean everything sold out there which offer the chance at a prize on top of what you are buying is a "scam" - which voids the definition as you are getting the product offered - the doff pack - same price as normal - with a rare "chance" at the bug ship.

No-one with any common sense would believe that something you got say 1 in every 20, 30, 40 pack would be rare - perhaps they should change the wording to "very rare"

but even with the words "very rare chance" it would not stop people from buying just as much.

Free isn't free at all it seems, as the dual-nature of greed proves. Good for Perfect World that players are mostly a fickle bunch. If everyone were as content as I with what thay have, no matter how inadequate it may be; they would not have enough money to maintain this game. Greed isn't always bad after all.

I decided after yesterday I'm not going to do anymore lock boxes, etc. because my day of luck finally happened.

I bought 10 fleet packs with some Zen I just had lying around. 4th pack produced the 4-pack Fleet Module which was honestly what I wanted more than anything else. 9th pack gave me the Jem ship, which I already had on another character and honestly wasn't that impressed with so I traded it for a time ship and a very, very nice sum of ECs. :) I also wound up with a powered alien artifact and a purple mk xii booster modulator, other than that it was mostly just Gamma Quadrant stuff for DOFF and Fleet projects.

Point remains that the 'chance to win' is secondary to the main product.

Lockbox keys - not disimilar to playing a slot machine; you play to win prizes with the overall incentive being the 'grand prize'.

DOFF Pack - you are buying DOFF's and the 'chance to win' is a by-product of the purchase of an actual commodity. As I said in an earlier post, it's the Charlie and the Choclate factory scenario - you are buying a bar of chocolate; it MIGHT contain a golden ticket, but it was not advertised as actually being a golden ticket and the purchase is made on the understanding that you are buying a bar of chocolate that MIGHT contain a golden ticket. Eitherway, you still get a bar of chocolate, which is exactly what you paid for.

    just for you:

45 packs thus far. No modules, no ship, no artifacts not even a very rare damn console. Just a bunch of trash.
