    Judging by the three side ports the Kumari has while the other two have only two side ports it seems maybe those are broadside weapons. Maybe the Andorian Escorts will have two weapons on each side and two or four on the fore, leaving none for the aft.

    They said that broadside weapons are not made yet. The tech isn't there. So that is probably just cosmetic. Its looking like it will be two special cannons and 3 whatever you want. Kind of worried about what type of energy type. I like my polaron build, but if the cannons are phasers... :(

    Every time they mentioned broadside weapon layout its been for CRUISERS. These are escorts so doesn't make sense for them to be BROADSIDE. Even in those two podcasts its been mentioned Broadside Cruiser. Also he mentioned the tech isn't there yet.

    Now 4 weapon FRONT/REAR So yeah I can still see it being 5 weapons forward and 2/3 weapons rear. Just saying that its possible he meant the extra forward weapons would be those cannons. We'll find out this week though.

    it doesnt matter if 2 of its consoles are weapons, any pvp'r will strip it of them and use 5 duel heavy cannons.

    Weapons: 5 Fore*, 2 Aft

    * One fore weapon slot is occupied by Kumari Wing Cannons. This weapon can be removed and replaced by a different weapon, but it cannot be equipped on ships other an Andorian Escort. Only one may be equipped per ship at a time.

    "The Phaser Dispersal Array console allows your Wing Cannons to charge up and fire a powerful blast that will damage your target and all enemies near your target."

    "The Wing Cannon Platforms console allows you to deploy two Wing Cannon Platforms which will orbit your ship and fire on your Wing Cannons? targets. Wing Cannon Platforms will only fire while you are firing your own Phaser Wing Cannons."

    "The Tachyon Induction Relay console allows your Wing Cannons to fire a powerful Tachyon burst that damages all of your target?s shield facings."

    "The Tachyon Induction Relay, Wing Cannon Platforms, and Phaser Dispersal Array can be equipped on any Andorian Escort. Together, they are the Andorian Assault Set.

    The two-piece set bonus grants Synchronized Targeting, a passive bonus to Accuracy.

    I'm not sure that they understand that an extra fore weapon is worth faaaaaar more than the lost aft weapon, especially on a ship that can equip cannons.

    They called it a glass cannon, but the stats show the exact opposite. More hull than the C-Store Defiant, the standard shield mod for all escorts, a good turn rate...

    Add on top of that the option for 5 tac consoles and extra special consoles to add more pain (will the tachyon induction relay become the new tachyon mines?); I'm not quite sure that Cryptic really thought about what this will do to pvp.

    (Oh god, just saw the set bonuses. 5 fore weapons AND a couple of extra tag-alongs? Argh...)

    This is probably the most drastic example of power creep yet. To balance an extra weapon fore you would need to remove two rear weapon slots, not one.

    Anyway, if you want the 5th tactical console, you must accept a horrible boff layout:

    Bridge Officer Stations: 1 Commander Tactical, 1 Lieutenant Commander Tactical, 1 Lieutenant Tactical, 1 Ensign Engineering, 1 Lieutenant Universal

    The Tac version will be extremely powerful but also too squishy...but I just imagine a pack of three different Kumari escorts working together!:D
    But they don't have a cloak...:mad:

    What is the theoretical DPS of this? What is it in comparison to other ships? What are the balancing factors?


    Yes, I know. None of the devs will ever release these numbers because they probably didn't even calculate them.

    I have the fleet tactical escort retrofit (five tac console ship) and some fleet antiproton dual heavies up front. So of course it's going to vary depending on your skills but the tactical Kumari comes in at somewhere around 8500 dps unbuffed for me.

    That is a lot of damage.

    I wonder how it will handle 5 DHC power drain. Maybe no Sci boffs too.

    5 forward weapons with 5 tactical consoles. how could you devs be that stupid. :(

    glass cannons haven't been a part of the game for a long time, not with all the passives, sets, and elite gear, also the defensive bonus from having 2 copies of APO. you think that station setup balances them? any team they are on will easily be able to do all the healing required for it, wile it issues unstoppable firepower.

    so it gets a duel cannon lance? outboard attack pets that mimic you, and a super shield destroying lance? bonues accuracy from 2 of them, and interaction with cannon skills for all 3? holy ****ing ****, as if the base ship wasn't bad enough :mad:

    DHCs are the most power frugal with their shorter drain period of all the weapons, 8 DHCs would be kinder to your power levels then 8 beam arrays. 25% more spike damage with a 5th forward only heavy weapon on an escort is BALANCE DESTROYING AND GAME BREAKING :mad:

    Well I have a feeling that FvF and KvK queue's will have more participants and FvK will drop in numbers and when a kdf will join it will be probable in full team like 3-4 kdf jhas+ recluse/+karfi
    It will be fun for everybody who has a lockbox ship or is federation player.

    For kdf average player it is an awful situation but I guess Cryptic don't care about that.
    Now I am sure that may release will be another federation oriented event and kdf is doomed.

    If ever I will buy the kumari for federation char that ship will be only for FvF queue's

    Man, the BOFF layout for the Tactical version is horrible. Especially for an all cannon build.

    I suppose you could run two Attack Pattern: Deltas and use the Omega only when you need it.

    Wonder what the stats are on those wing cannons.
