Which is precisely why I and many others are continuing to play but are not buying Zen. Dilithium I get through my normal activities if needed I convert to Zen. Sooner or later enough people will do this for Zen prices to soar, more than they are now and people will just give up on the game and move on. I will say one thing in Cryptics favour unrelated to their ferengi ways, at least May looks like all that money is going to use and will carry the game forward.
I still think the JHAS pets should have been for all players with the adv version in dil store without having to own another ship.

You either overestimate the number of people who actually care about this or underestimate the size of the dil:zen exchange market if you think the handful of people keeping this thread bumped boycotting the purchase of zen will make any difference on exchange rates.
I mean, good luck to you, but there's just not very many people who care.
The thing that bothers me a bit now is the fact that we now have 3 different Rarities of the Hanger Bugs In-Game but all are still gated behind needing the Lock Box Attack Ship.
I've yet to see the stats on the Fleet version of the Hanger Bug so I can't say much about that but it appears that the Rare version that is sold by the Shipyard vendor and the Very Rare version sold in the Dilithium store have the same stats.
I know that I've asked this question before but I think it bears asking again:
What would have been the harm in releasing a base Rare version of the Hanger Bug that could have been open to all that owned the Dreadnought Carrier and then gating the Very Rare and Fleet version of the Hanger Bugs behind needing to own the Lock Box Bug?
If we look at the progression of some of the other Carriers hanger options the above could have worked out fine for all parties involved; granted there would have still been some griping but I can't see any argument against the move that could have been easily defended.
Unless I'm overlooking something, I find it odd that the Very Rare and Rare versions of the Hanger Bugs share the exact same stats except for the fact that a set of the Very Rare ones will cost you 60000 Dilithium and a set of the Rare ones will only cost you 8200 EC.
Keep in mind that I could have overlooked something when I compared the two versions of the Hanger Bugs that I've seen but if I haven?t there should be many players out there that dropped 60K in Dilithium for something that they could have got for 8200 EC and they should be fuming.
At this point what's done is done and I will forever say that Cryptic dropped the ball with the Dreadnought Carrier and its Hanger options.
Sure what Cryptic did with the Dread and the Bug has given them a nice spike increase in revenue but it won?t last.
What happens after the Bug ship is thrown back into the Cryptic vault and the supply on the exchange dries up?
The Dreadnought Carrier will suffer because newer players might not give it a 2nd look if they know that in order to unlock what should be the Carriers best Hanger Option they'll need to acquire another ship that is extremely expensive and hard to come by that is arguably much better than the ship that they need it for.
Here's how I would have tried to make a buck off of the Dreadnought Carrier while still trying to make the players feel cool with the end results.
I would have hyped up the Dreadnought Carrier on its own and not have tethered it to any other vessel.
The Dread would have come loaded with one Hanger Bay of Bare minimum options Rare Fighters and one Hanger Bay with the Bare minimum options Rare Attack Ship.
I would not offer the Rare versions of the Jem'Hadar Fighters or Attack Ship in the Shipyard; instead I would add them each in as reward options for playing the final part of the 2800 series, that way you would have to play that mission twice if you wanted one more copy of each.
I would have made some fully loaded versions of both the Jem'Hadar Fighters and Attack Ship and adding them both to the Lobi store for 100 Lobi per fighter and 200 Lobi per attack ship.
Lastly I'd release craft able Ultra Rare versions of both the Jem'Hadar Fighters and the Attack Ship that would require you use one Rare Jem'Hadar Fighter + one Very Rare Jem'Hadar Fighter + 30K in Dilithium to make the Ultra Rare Jem'Hadar Fighter and you would need one Rare + Very Rare Attack Ship + 30k in Dilithium for the Ultra Rare Attack Ship.
I think that the method that I described above would cover all the bases.
Everyone would have access to the basics and the advanced, I'd be encouraging the replay of older content and I'd be enticing players to go after the Lobi Store versions of the Hanger Support Ships.
I'd also be helping to ensure the longevity of sales of the Jem'Hadar Dreadnought Carrier.
I'd be willing to make an effort to not upset my player base and also try to pad my Companys bottom line.

They aren't just copies. I haven't run any figures, but even from comparing the two side by side you can see that the VR ones have CRF2 instead of CRF1.

really why have a ship that you need have a fighter bay to make it useful... Jem'hadar Lockboxs are trash... these Dreadcarrier is most gimp ship ever released next to Fed Dread. Look what is the point of having the ship if you need own another ship just to make it work?
Think of this also they cause there own demand for a Attackship. Setting it up this way which is maybe worst thing ever to happen to this game because you know they already got plans to do it again. That alright sit by onside line don't post it maybe next ship you want that there ripping you off? Told you so!
"If there grass on the field play ball." "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." "Silence is compliance." That 2nd quote maybe a little much but I really don't care.

I like how you think you understand economics, business management and revenue streams better than the company who posted record growth and profits
Here's a hint: You don't matter.
If you're not going to buy anything else as some form of misguided 'protest' then not only does PWE not care, they're laughing since they already have your money. If you were to quit the game in as a result (over not getting your favorite internet spaceship of all things) then you'd be doing them a favor by not wasting their server bandwidth that could be re-allocated to a new player.

I've suggested before that they at least change the requirement to have to own the Jem'Hadar HEC and the Jem'Hadar dreadnought instead of the dreadnought and the JHAS. This would at least make it more available.
But you know what? I guess it doesn't matter now does it? By being allowed to visit their studios Cryptic has pretty much signed off on you and your fleet haven't they? They've said in deed what most of us have suspected for years. They're not going to stop you. They're not going to correct you. You won. After long last, you really, really won. STO is yours and no one is going to do a thing about it. Congratulations.
I've suggested before that they at least change the requirement to have to own the Jem'Hadar HEC and the Jem'Hadar dreadnought instead of the dreadnought and the JHAS. This would at least make it more available.
Is nobody listening to my suggestion? I have yet to see a single person even acknowledge this suggestion whenever I post it.

I think this is viable option. Doubt anyone that cares is listening/reading though, not with Romulan news.

Basically what you suggest would be pretty much the same thing that they did with the Attack Ship just with a vessel that in theory would be easier to get.
It still should make an item that could only be used with the Dreadnought Carrier locked away from the Dreadnoughts owners unless they also owned the Jem'Hadar Heavy Escort Carrier.
Sure it would have been much eaiser to get the HEC but whos to say that its price would not have been blow way out proportion due to it being needed to unlock Hanger Options for the Dreadnought?
No in-game vessel should require you to own another in-game vessle just for you to have and option to buy an item that can only be used with the Vessel that you already own.
Agreed with errab, your suggestion is more of a bandaid than an actual fix. What happens when the dominion boxes go away? We'll end up with the same situation.
If they want to restrict items to the "elite clientele" as so many @!?{$ keep claiming then tie it to the harder in game content. Either you must beat the whole 2800 series on elite, have it as a special reward for limited times in a year, perhaps for beating no win or the soon to be re-released Crystalline Entity.
Otherwise they should have been available to all with the only requirement to have the Jem Dread.

oh right, like they're not already making billions off of lockboxes, starbases, embassies, reputation...there's a fine line between making money, and being greedy
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"

Hate to break it to you, but PWE are greedy. Always have been.
Also: Rain is wet.
I know, I was just reiterating that it was a blatant money grab as opposed to being for the elite clientele like a few people in the previous pages had said.
Probably will be added to the lobi store in a week or two when the demand for the JHAS has gone.
I hope posting here will finally draw the attention of the devs to make fixes and changes a broken game. Sometimes I think the devs take working on Star Trek for granted and just seem to ignore us. So at times I really don't regret criticism. Dose anyone else feel the same here?
How hard is to make the changes we ask for?
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] DELTA RISING FIXS THERE NEVER COMING WHY I'M I WASTING MY TIME ASKING FOR THEM ???
If I have a JHAS and a Dread, can I fit it with 2 of the attack ship hanger bays from the Dilithium store, assuming I have the 60k dilithium?
Would be nice to have 4 JHAS out as pets.
That Is what really should have been in the 1st place.... Wheres the incentive to buy keys or the ships there is none its all place on getting a Attackship now pretty pointless. The Attackship and DreadCarrier are nothing alike in builds or specs, is there any other reason to make the ship this way other then Double Dipping wallets on player who got Dreadcarrier? I would have to say No! so why it got be that way?
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] DELTA RISING FIXS THERE NEVER COMING WHY I'M I WASTING MY TIME ASKING FOR THEM ???
Heh, as much as I hate seeing this ship be used to lockout something else, and can see how it is being abused for greed, it seems also that a lot of things in real life and how many economic systems are run, have many similar things happening everyday.
It is sad that STO is made and run by cryptic and PWE, 2 companies that are following the path of a world that makes products, then uses certain aspects of those products to try and leverage more money by way of strange lockouts and requirements, a methodology that doesn't follow the store lines or ideals used to create the Star Trek Franchise in the beginning.
What a sad state for the ST Franchise.
What a sad state for the game.
And yes, I am sure there is going to be all these power tripping econimist saying "thats how it works," "of course, because they are a business in it for the money," as well as "might makes right, he who has the gold makes the rules," and all sorts of similar statements, all of which go against the original ideals that Gene wrote the Star Trek store lines on.
But, here is a reality for you economist who would say that.
The Star Trek Franchise back then, was a very low budget film making production. The client base who often watched Star trek related films and shows where often stereotype and rejected as "nerds" by a past society when, at that time, "Nerds" where considered a bad thing, unlike todays world where being a nerd is cool, because nerds make you fun techy toys xxxmessage (bleep) I mean text message with.
The fact is, the original Star Trek franchise is a franchise of survival, not money making. The original franchise has often had financial harshes that pushed it to the edge. the original franchise survived, and survived long enough to see Star Trek enthusiast want to pay lots of money to make the current films and start this game. Sadly for the purpose of this game, the original staff is no longer there.
If the original Star Trek Franchise is a survivor that didn't make a lot of money in the beginning, why is PWE and cryptic pulling cheep shots to make money? (economist, don't answer, we already know what you will say)
Why would they want to make changes to accommodate a self-entitled, minority of people who were told exactly what to expect, saw what they were told to expect, and bleat out about horrific money grabs in a free-to-play MMO, complete with some people trying to compare these bleatings to /standing up against slavery/ or other equally stupid, excessive hyperbole statements about how TRULY IMPORTANT their FINAL STAND AGAINST THE EVIL MONEYGRABBING is?
Gain some perspective in life. Its a set of combat pets that, frankly, are nice but nowhere near game breaking. Elite Scorpions will do damage on par if not better than them.

A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch."
"We said 'no' to Mr.
Probably will be added to the lobi store in a week or two when the demand for the JHAS has gone.
It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.
A master with a stone is better than a novice with a sword.
Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.
How hard is to make the changes we ask for?
DELTA RISING FIXS THERE NEVER COMING WHY I'M I WASTING MY TIME ASKING FOR THEM ???
Would be nice to have 4 JHAS out as pets.
That Is what really should have been in the 1st place.... Wheres the incentive to buy keys or the ships there is none its all place on getting a Attackship now pretty pointless. The Attackship and DreadCarrier are nothing alike in builds or specs, is there any other reason to make the ship this way other then Double Dipping wallets on player who got Dreadcarrier? I would have to say No! so why it got be that way?
DELTA RISING FIXS THERE NEVER COMING WHY I'M I WASTING MY TIME ASKING FOR THEM ???
