So I am thinking about trying out one for the other PW games. I'm not really into the fantasy genre, but willing to try one out. Anyone else actively playing another PW game? What would you recommend?
But I'm curious about the other ones as well. They all look grindy.
I might go back and poke PWI with a stick to see if it's changed much (it's been a long time). IIRC it was sort of like someone make a MMO out of Titan's Quest.

Champions Online ofc! (and will check out Neverwinter) - but... Blacklight Retribution, Torchlight I & II, some Forsaken World, some Rusty Hearts and I might try War &/or Battle of the Immortals at some point too.
I played PWI with a friend a long LONG time ago (so long I don't remember my PW account info for it lol).
But I dunno some games have caught my eye so I'll probably be diving into one or two

I started playing forsaken world but there is a major problem for me.
there is no invert y axis of the mouse for the game. I know not everyone uses it but for me it feels wrong to have it set to normal. every other mmo i have ever played has the invert mouse button and i always change it. while its not impossible to get my mind to work differently, it is a hindrance and becomes confusing if i switch between games.
All good Branflakes , I'll forgive you if you get Instant Email Notification for thread subscriptions back up and running. I wanna know who is talking about me behind my back!
I haven't tried any PW games at all, I hadn't even heard of them until they bought Cryptic Studios. I've played Champions Online (and sometimes still do) and I'd probably play D&D Neverwinter if I got the chance but I consider those two games to be Cryptic games; I don't like the idea of Cryptic being dissolved and assimilated into Perfect World but if it happens it happens I guess, nothing anyone can do about it.

PWI has PVP and PVE servers, on the PVP servers once you get to level 30 it's open season - open world pvp outside of Safe Zones (cities and towns). On the PVE Servers once you reach level 30 you have the option to go "white name" or switch on PVP, this can be switched on and off, but there is (was last time i looked) a 10 hour cooldown on switching between the two. Once you switch on PVP it works the same way as it does on the PVP server. When in PVP mode there is a chance you can drop items from your inventory on death - basically anything that isn't bound is up for grabs - cash, mounts, armors. They do offer items from the boutique that prevent loss of items on death in pvp (and loss of experience points on death in pve).
As well as open world pvp there is a territory war system where by guilds can field upto 80 vs 80 to fight over areas of the game map. There is no penalty for death in TW, no loss of items. They now frequently have map resets so no one guild will dominate the map for too long. This also gives players the opportunity to run PVE territory wars where you have to take out boss monsters to win the land. These are fun and have the chance to drop some rare items (legendary pet scrolls for example - formerly worth about 200 USD or so) Thats all i can remember for now.
I haven't logged into my Champions Online account in a while, ever since my friend that played it switched to playing STO instead (pre-STO F2P). I'll probably play Neverwinter once it launches. As for other MMOs? I've barely got enough time between work, STO, and TOR as it is right now

I play Champions, and it is really fun but has the same starved for content issue that STO has. I find the gameplay crazy fun, and there is enough to level from 1-40 and then play for a while, but eventually it gets old. They do have some neat PVP games, King of the Hill, Zombie Apocolypse.
Played Rustry Hearts, the game is pretty fun, if you liked old school side scrolling beatemups you might like it. I personally stopped playing because it is extremely grindy. I do not like having to repeat the same quest several times in a row just to gain enough XP so I can move on to the next quest.
I hear good things about Blacklight but haven't gotten around to playing it. It looked awesome at last years PAX.
And finally, I will most likely play Neverwinter, played a lot of Neverwinter Nights back in the day, hoping Neverwinter lives up to the name.
I played PWI, hence why my sig is from PWI. It was still here when I merged so I left it 'cause that's what STO is turning into. I also played the first Torchlight for a bit.
I will never play another PWE game ever again, not even Torchlight 2 or NWO, they lost me as a customer due to the way they treated me back in June of 2010, and the only reason I'm still here is I like Star Trek.
I've played Forsaken World, and found it lackluster and boring really with stiff repetitive animations and a ridiculous connection between Dwarfs and large oversized Bananas. This was on the old PWE account I had linked a few days ago not the current one I have linked. I won't be playing that game again, it's uninstalled. I don't intend to play any others either. The FPS has me interested but lets see... Tribes Ascend is a free to play FPS too... and I know and love that franchise. So I've no reason to play another PWE game right now.
I play a little champions, but would have to spend more time (and likely more money) there than I am willing to commit to truly enjoy it.
I did try PWI in the past, but although I loved the style and visuals, I didn't find it offered enough to keep me there or to convince me to spend money there.
i still occasionally pop into pwi to see old guildies (some are still there but a lot of new faces), do a bit of fantasy mob killing. I spent a lot of time on my characters there so like revisiting.
i played foresaken world during closed beta and created some characters during open beta. I liked it but I went off gaming for a while so when i went back it wasn't the same. I did pop in the other week and got most of my 6 characters to 30 in a couple of days, but not a fan of some of the time limited content like mounts etc that they tease you with. It is definitely trying to please too many different people though - the character designs are definitely aimed at teens to adult, while some of the cosmetic items seem more fitting for a game aimed at younger players.
ESO I played a long long time ago but it was definitely styled to appeal to younger players. Played battle of the immortals for quite a while got a couple of characters into their 70s. In the end though there wasn't enough joy in the game to keep me coming back.
Enjoyed Champions Online for a while but took a case of life to the knee and so drifted away. Then started STO in January. Still enjoying it pretty much. Also play a bit of DCUO on the side but might shift my allegiance for superhero mmo to Marvel Heroes when it comes out.

but all the "information" available seems to be about some "minor god" having a tantrum
and lists of races
no actual data on the GAME
Yeah I had a good look over them, and they all pretty much look the same to me.

Which one is the smallest download?
Didn't notice the "yes I did" thingy until I got to that post in the Dev Tracker... *snickers*
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
I fully agree.
Same here!

So technically, the only other Perfect World game I'm playing is Champions Online.
You know WoW has a massive adult playerbase right?

I have tried a few others from other companies, one (now defunct) that I was enjoying was Chronicles of Spellborn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JOKcwmNo_c
