Hi Captains,

In order to post on the forums, you must be signed in with a PWE Account. You may notice a few other changes, so if you have any questions, post them in here and I will do my best to answer them :smile: Also, if you notice anything strange, please let me know in here and I will pass along your feedback to the web team as it comes in.

    We are working on getting the Dev Tracker back up and running ASAP. Thanks for your patience.

    do we all have to deal with lowercase names now....

    I was sort of attached to it being spelled out like my handle in game IE: Gypsy_Blade

    when I made my PWE account it made everything lowercase and no underscore....

    Wasn't an issue till now.. now.. its just an eyesore...

    Is there a reason why we have ads at the top of the forums now?

    No more custom avatars and I have to use my PWE handle instead of my STO one now? I suppose I saw this coming sooner or later...:frown:

    Okay just logged into the game and all my mail is gone....... =.=

    Okay Brandon, here's issue #1: Every single old thread is posted as an archive, which means that authors can no longer edit existing posts. For those of us with say, stickied help or guide threads that we've been maintaining, this means that every single one of those threads will have to be re-posted and re-stickied so that thread authors can continue to update their posts.

    Issue #2: The new Avatar selection (as compared to being able to upload custom avatars in the past) is absolutely terrible, and the homogeneity will make it a lot harder to spot particular users in threads.

    i hope i have a pic of may avatar saved some were, gotta re upload that. seems all my watched threads are gone, which sucks, but also all those warnings and the single point i had appear to have been washed away!

    the new background picture looks great, except that galaxy class is launch spec, pre Logan love, that saucer looks terrible.

    edit- well my avatar pic uploaded just fine, the setings shows my avatar pic is there but this post did not. somethings not right.

    This times a million. Unless we get editing back in a reasonable amount of time we'll simply have to re post any thread we've posted before.

    Yep, my mail is gone as well. Checked in game just to make sure and it's gone there too. I use my mail as storage for BOffs and DOffs, just glad I cleaned it out for the most part yesterday. Only lost a handful of each.

    oh damn, mail box is GONE lol. everyone who stored stuff there is effed!

    tried sticking my old avatar in the sig area, the control panel preview shows its working, actual forum posts show that its not, as you can see

    * oh there we go lol. well that's an avatar work around for now

    That's not a bad idea actually. I don't know about anyone else, but I generally use avatars as an identifier first before even reading the name of the poster. Having no custom avatars makes forums feel so...sterile. Yeah, sterile. I'll go with that.

    Are these settings in error? I ask because it seems extremely punitive if not. When compared to the other signature settings across the various other PW gaming forums, there seems to be no uniform template. Is this a matter for each community to decide what is suitable? Some forums have higher pixel values (500 x 200), some forums allow basic BB code, some do not etc.

    However, Jade Dynasty in particular seems to have a more liberal and slightly similar set to our previous set of settings, albeit added GIF support and no alignment.

    I quote this by way of giving an example of where fewer restrictions have been placed upon current users of a PW style forum.

    Without getting emotive on the matter, could you please clarify if we are likely to see some flexibility on our forum signature settings - on the order of allowing BB code: Color, IMG , URLS, Alignment? Or if this is non-flexible.

    If the latter, could I also request some reasoning behind that decision given my aforementioned and quoted inconsistencies across the PW forum network for such settings.

    I personally, personally hate the new dev tracker. Why? I don't want to see what everyone has posted. I want to keep only the threads where someone posted in from the DEVs. It makes reading easier instead of just getting the entire reply to the thread in the dev tracker itsself. Plus it looks like just thrown-in stuff. Please return it to the "Only-Thread" view so we can only see the threads where someone posted in.
