This resolved the issue. Before you hit Engage from the launcher, click the "Options" link at the top right of the window. From there, put a check in the box that says, "Show All Games". You should be prompted to restart the launcher. Close the launcher, restart it, and you should be able to log in as normal.
A mod should get this thread set so that the solution is the top post.

It works for me... perphaps the people who's can't make work it's because they've not installed holodeck or champios...

I just tried this and I can confirm that selecting SHOW ALL GAMES does work and now I can log in.

I clicked Show All Games, and logged in fine. I have no idea why ... I never checked or unchecked that box before, and I have always had On Demand Patching disabled.
Alright Captains! This should no longer be occurring. If it is, let me know in this thread.
Cheers,

I just fixed this issue. This was the fix for me;

You should be able to get in without choosing "show all games". Can you confirm?
Gents I'm in the same boat to. I deleted the launcher and reinstalled it off the CD/DVD. Hopefully it works. I sent about 5 Cryptic tickets after the launcher crashed.
I had this problem. I started the launcher and entered the password, it would then crash saying oops and it would create a report screen. Not sure which fixed it but i did the following and it started working again.
On my firewall i removed permission for it to access to the internet etc and then in gave it permission again manually. ( i am using eset firewall)
I then restarted the launcher. At the top of the launcher i clicked on options and ticked the "force verify box"
I then entered my password and the game patched itself and the game started working again.
In case you do not see the other thread - when opening your Launcher - go to Options - and check "Show all games". Hit ok. Close and re-launch the game launcher and then you are able to get in.
Worked for me - thanks.
Tried the suggestion of disabling the on demand patching but it still crashed. Selecting show all games as above worked for me (I only have STO on my PC, no CO).
Whatever it was that caused it, happened within the last six hours, as I logged on earlier tonight without problem on the same pc.
Edit: OK, Just seen BranFlakes' post quoted above - tried setting all the settings back as they were before and it lets me in normally, appears to be fixed.
But I had uninstalled and tried re-installing (x2) before I found this thread. I'm currently in Patch hell as it gets updated. But that's an improvement since past the log-in screen, before show all games was selected, it would /instant_crash. So I'm assuming that work around some how works.
-@Brain, thanks for the reply. Glad you guys are working on it. Hopefully it is fixed but as I'm still patching I cant tell and wont know cus I'm not taking the risk of logging out and it somehow going /TRIBBLE_out on me again tonight.
I restored from an earlier backup (1/10/2012) and the launcher didn't crash. Didn't need to set any startup options as well. Seems like a launcher bug that (hopefully) will be fixed in the next patch.

I did as the others had done and got the launcher to work. I then saw this post and set things back and the launcher worked fine. Thank you.

Confirmed for me and the two other accounts affected in our home, we no longer need show all games checked to avoid the crash. Thanks again Brandon.
