Glad its not just me then. It was working fine about 2 hours ago, now the login agent / client crashes aafter I log in. I notice that the big advert on the left also incorrectly displays "2 days left" for cardassian lock boxes when earlier it said "last day" or somehting like that. So something is up with the launcher.
if its a cryptic issue, reinstalling wont change anything.
Exactly my point. If it had something to do with the Tribble patch, it would have been on our end. That was my theory by removing the game and reinstalling it in a different place. Didn't work. Therefore at the very least it is not appearing to be on our end.
It's not a location thing either, my friend who lives a few blocks away can log in fine. My wife can log in to her account and that's the same home, same network.
And just started for me as well. I also tried uninstalling, then nuking the whole cryptic studios directory to get rid of any old preferences, then installing, reboot and then run again. It allows you to type in password but crashes as soon as engage button is shown. I am really beginning to regret spending $300 a week ago to buy a lifetime subscription after having 132K in dilithium going missing, the unanswered bug reports and now this.
Game has been working fine all day, just tried to log back in and the launcher is now crashing exactly as described above.
Tried a reboot, no joy.
No other software has been updated or installed on my system today - always bombs when it tries to contact the server after entering my password.
Attached screenshots of the launcher for version info and also to confirm it's now showing 2 days till the boxes vanish, rather than the 1 it was showing earlier.
Yeah, I tried the same thing in hopes that it would work by bypassing the launcher. No go for me either.
Same here. I wasn't able to connect to the server, so this is definitely a bigger issue than just the launcher. Quite frankly, it's also disturbing, considering all the recent hacks/single items loss posts around the forums...
Launcher is also crashing for me atm, wasnt like this about an hour ago.
When starting the game through the gameclient.exe in the gamefolder and subsequently trying to log in I get the "Connection to account server timed out" message.
And another with crashing at the launcher. 2 times and then I rebooted (plus some windows updates) and tried several more times. Usually crashing when I hit engage, but the last two the crash occurs as the launcher checks for updates. Could login this morning, ~8 hours ago.
I am having this issue as well... I just got home from work and tried to login, I type my password and the launcher crashes. I worked fine for me last night and I HAVEN'T downloaded the latest tribble patch.
Good thing I checked the forums before wasting time reinstalling lol
Cryptic can we get a response on this? It's obviously not on our end...

I had a Steam Update and restarted it and tried to play and crashed after several Steam restarts and one system restart. I defragged/validated my Steam files for the game and now I get an error that says "Failed to contact key server".
I just got home from work and was looking forward to some quality time with my kids on STO and got this same mesasage and crash about running some debugger or some such worked fine earlier
I was able to play a couple hours ago and have changed nothing since then. And trying to bypass the launcher with the gameclient results in a timeout when connecting to the account server.

Cryptic please help!
Funny thing is - I can log into Champions Online just fine - so it appears to be something unique to the STO launch/patching process.
