    Same problem with me, I noticed that the patch code (the little white text where the loading bar is) isn't there before it crashes.

    Same error for me.
    Starting the gameclient.exe lets you login from the game but it gets stuck at "connecting to the account server" and then times out.

    Not sure when the last Tribble patch occurred so that's uncertain.

    Also, it seems to crash just as the launcher goes looking for the info to verify and/or patch.

    i have the issue and not applied tribble patch in ages. i mean not played on tribble scince f2p beta shard.

    Same here, played earlier with no problems, came back to do some stuff and now the launcher crashes - nothing changed on my end.

    Yep, got the same problem. I enter the password and the launcher crashes.

    im getting this exact problem and it worked fine exactly 12 hours ago. i did not however access tribble and i've not downloaded any patch today, go figure...

    I played on Tribble about 10 hours ago and was able to log-in several times after that. I doubt this is the issue. Still, the crash happens on the patching screen, just after entering the password.

    *sigh*

    I'd be willing to bet they're tribble patch borked our launcher. If they'd supply a link to the current holodeck launcher file, I bet that'd fix the issue. Unfortunately this got moved into the "self-help" section even though is a Cryptic issue.

    Uploaded the files to my reply. Crashing on Patcher as well.

    Bypassing patcher and going to the gameclient.exe itself shows a timeout hitting login server.

    When bringing up the normal patcher, login screen appears as normal, enter login information and the next screen (patcher) immediately crashes showing no errors, just the submit bug report window (attached jpg)

    Running on:

    Windows 7 64bit
    i5 2500 cpu
    8gb ram
    gtx 460 oc

    no problems until this afternoon

    I have also tried connecting with just game client.

    The game starts but then it cant connect to the log in server....

    I was on like 2 hours ago ... went to run errands and the started getting crashes. Literally nothing change on my end aside from a screen saver kicking,

    I did not patch the tribble server and I still have the same problem.

    Same problem for me.
    (Installed Via Steam)

    Repo Steps:
    Launch Steam (if not running)
    Click on STO to bring up the launcher
    Log in to your account (for me i log in using Cryptic credentials)
    launcher logs in and goes tot he version check/patch engage screen and crashes.

    This to me seems like a problem when its checking for a version update.

    im also not getting a crash/debug error list, only the optin to submit.

    Yeah, i'm having the same issues, i think.

    Only one possible problem with that theory: I completely uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled even into a different directory, just to be sure. Does the same thing.

    Yeah, I tried the same thing in hopes that it would work by bypassing the launcher. No go for me either. :(

    OK - now I'm frustrated. The extremely poor design of the support ticket system will not let me file a report of a problem.

    Cryptic - you have NO problem charging my credit card, so why can't I login to play?

    if its a cryptic issue, reinstalling wont change anything.

    no... the game client doesnt crash but wont connect to the account server...more to it than the launcher IMO

    I am getting the crash immediately after logging in and before it even brings up the ability to select Holodeck, Tribble or Engage. Immediate crash after logging in and I don't use the Steam version. Had it installed since FEB09. Pretty strange considering had no issue last night.
