Otherwise what do you get? Same old Boff with a new skin. and you only see this skin on away mission anyways.
This idea would make the Boff something to aspire to get and something to actual reward the vet.
I would go so far to say let it be completely verstile and can train any skill in any slot(this wont break the game). There is only one android officer i know in Trek and he could enjoy(not just listen to) 10 operas at the same time, so a humon level 4 engineering skill or a tactical officer lvl 3 skill would be child's play !
Like I say, you could flat out allow it to use non class skills in a slot if it gets a trait that reduces all space skills' effectiveness by 40%, since that effectively "down tiers" all space skills, which is already the effective penalty for a universal slot, in a sense.

We have Universal seats on some ships, why not have a Universal Boff? One who can occupy *any* seat on your ship, but who is not limited by the powers of that class?
If you want to give the boff half Engie and half Tac powers, but seat it in a Sci Commander position, that'd be fantastic.
Devs, do you want to make something SCHWEET that players would aspire to get? This is how, IMO.

Not necessarily. The question of Data's sentience didn't even come up until after he had served in Starfleet for 24 years (2341 - 2365). EMHs, which have the capacity to develop sentience but aren't considered so until proved otherwise, are standard on Starfleet ships.
However, since they're bridge officers, unless otherwise stated in game I'm going to assume they are. Or rather my captains will when they get them. Though maybe my Orion pirate might not. I haven't decided yet with him.

You only hit the 700th day once. If a reward isn't ready on that day, then you just don't get it. Should'a subscribed later so that there would have been time to implement the reward. You know, like with capes and such. --It was a joke. Nevermind, move on.

It won't be a Soong type Android. It will probably be Sargon or Mudd type android from TOS. I don't remember who it was but one of the forum regulars suggested that since Soong types are ultra rare and almost impossible to manufacture. The devs seemed to like his idea.

Hmm, speaking of whens, how about some information on when the "YOU MUST RESPEC NOAW!!!" bug might be squashed. You know, the one where characters are getting spammed by the skill window even if they've already respec'ed. Incredibly annoying, especially since it jumps up in your face every time you start a race in the Winter Event.

So it's an imperfect new attempt at the Soong type but built enough to the same specs that they could give it art basedon the Soong type for exposed metal panels or a Lal-in-Beta-phase-type head.
I think my suggestion was to give it neon irises in a small variety of colors, kinda like the Borg bits... and they could always exclude yellow if it made CBS happy.

I hit 700 days in 2 days. There has to be people who've already hit it.
Well, generally the rewards drop at x99.01.
I grabbed an LTS almost immediately and I'm late into 698. So chances are it'll be a little bit yet before anyone hits it.

Yet only male when we were told we would be able to choose gender.
