    I live in the UK and the launcher tries to update but does not succeed, and i get the error message that i can not connect to the patch server.

    They'll probably increase the time limit. Amazing how many pages this thing filled. I thought it was only me with the patched problem so I uninstalled my Anti-Virus and got a different/better one :P But I uninstalled the game (Gonna be 45 minutes wasted :eek: :( )

    What is happening Is I click on the star trek online icon on my desktop and it comes up with a small box that says "Trying to update the launcher, please be patient. Tried connecting 2 times.

    Then a larger box will appear 30 seconds later saying "unable to establish connection with patch server, please check your internet connection " But my internet is working perfectly... Really need help on this :/

    Keep getting the launcher message, and I keep getting the same response - telling me to contact my internet provider.

    Is there some issue here - my net is fine / running road runner turbo - Its after this last patch this morning that I started to get this launcher update issue.

    Whats going on?

    I use Steam to access STO - I did a file validation / all is fine from my end.

    Is this due to weather?

    Is there an issue with the launcher itself?

    I just wanted to add that Startrek Online Gateway has the same issue, timing out in Boston. I don't know if that helps any but thought I would post.

    Never thought of using it this way but it works. This should work for those people without cell phones. I'm playing now.

    Be aware, if you have on demand patching enabled, you'll crash when you try and leave the instance your in. Smart STO players don't patch on demand..:P

    I don't know if it's related, but if i try to connect to startrekonline.com or champions-online.com then they fail to connect as well. Usually they'd redirect to the correct site (co.perfectworld.com or sto.perfectworld.com) but they're timing out as well.

    Hmm well thats interesting, im sure i was reading a thread what had just hit 100pages and i go browse a couple of sites for a minute or so, refresh this one and BANG 170+ pages, methinks there be some merging going on.

    A word of advice to anyone who can't get logged in right now. Forget about playing STO as you will only be disapointed and you might as well wait intill tomorrow!!!!! If you need to use your mobile phone or 3rd party program to log in then its a total shame and a joke!!!!! I for one have given up after nearly 6 hours of waiting and i find it nothing but a total disapoinment that nothing can be sorted out even with all the free details kind members have given to you!!!!! What a total joke :(

    Again with this cogentco TRIBBLE. No way you could possibly anticipate something with a long-established history of problems, let alone checking it out remotely before a patch goes live.
