[*]New signs added to help locate things.

These new graphics are a nightmare. I truly hope they're placeholders for something new. If not, I don't know if I can continue playing STO, if this is an indication of where the art style is heading. The graphics are about as non-Trek as you can get. The fonts are terrible too.

Maybe I missed it, these new signs are a joke right?

If yes, good one they're very jokey looking. If not they look like a child submitted images to the in-game art people. We don't need these signs to begin with, let alone childish signs that should be in a Federation Pre-School.

Please revert the signs thanks. I DO really like the icons on the map though I wouldn't mind the versions over the heads of the contacts being a tad smaller than the giant white squares make them appear now.

There's also an un-needed lamp in the transporter room and the commodity folks near the tailor are in the middle of the room.

Agreed. I truly thought they were a joke when I logged in. I'm not being a smart-a about it. I'm serious. Those signs have got to go. Screenshots HERE.

I see the signs as a joke....A joke that is going horribly wrong.

I think they tried to be funny...and it just blew up in their faces......

If its a joke, its not funny. Get rid of the cartoon graphics, or atleast give us an option to turn it off if we dont want to see that garbage.

Also, please go back to sorting the Doff in progress missions according to their categories. Its hard to just look and see how many of each kind you have going. List them by categories instead of just a long list of what is getting done soonest.

some of the icon's are "ok" others are just "bad"; the child drawn starship being a really "good example" of bad... it looks like a very badly drawn marvel comic enterprise from the 80's ... the transporter is fine.

I like the logo in ESD as you beam in and the starship engineering one, not the cartoon starship, more logos and icons that look like we are in a professional organisation , less that make us look like we are playing with crayons... :)

[*]Level 50 players now get a requisition form for one piece of Mk X STF gear.

Will this be a tribble thing only? Or will this be available on holodeck too when things go live?
Seems like this is only working for KDF atm - Look in your available missions tab, you will find a new mission for this, however if your playing a fed character you can't hand it in to D'Vak on ESD, but you can on KDF side.

Any idea when this will be fixed? I'd like to try it out.

Well I get a mission to speak to D'Vak Starfleet side but no way to resolve the mission. What's going on?

So, these signs. They do look awful cartoon like. My suggestion:
The old LCARS displays were on the right track but were very crowded with all the little buttons on them. If you wanted to add an image of a ship or other icon to accentuate the sign, it should also look loke an LCARS displlay.
Maybe a panel with an LCARS image of the ship (the shape is fine) and the word below or beside it.

[*]Switched dilithium costs over to unreplicateable materials.
[*]Unreplicateable materials now sold for dilithium by the general vendors at Memory Alpha and Qo'noS.
    • Unreplicateable materials are tradable between players
    • Unreplicateable materials cannot be reverted back into dilithium

Alright, the Prices on the Materials above are....

decent. But I think the amount needed for crafting is far too high. it is much higher in dilithium then the old system, this just does not hurt as much because the unreplicateable materials can be traded.

I thank you for changing the dilithium crafting, and while I think this is a good idea. Adds some variation to it.

Please consider strongly adjusting the amounts needed to be reduced by 3/4 to 2/3 of their current values. Or add the unreplicateable materials to loot drops from enemies please? because the way it stands, it is even more then the original system.

it is clearly a step in the right direction, Needs serious fine tuning, but I am much happier with this then the straight addition of dilithium to crafting.

i would Very Much Like it , if the tribble logon page, Would Stop Prompting Me To Make A New Charictor On Tribble !
No charicter i will have on the tribble site will be " new ", Ever.
I have Three [3] cap lvl alts. I don't need any more than that.
My tribble alt, just the one , is so I can see what is coming down the road for live, just as much to test what is on tribble, to see if it breaks.
If all I get for being on tribble this build, is a tribble thats useful to klingons, thats ok.
What I Am here for, is the information.

If you're going to make DS9 more of a home base on both factions, could you please add a "Train Officer", Emblem Store, etc, so that people can do anything they need to there that they could on ESD and Qo'noS.

ETA: Also when we log out, can we go back to the character screen instead of having to enter our password again?

Amounst the many bugs currently on Tribble and the horrible signs and icons everwhere (I want to be able to turn these off as they are AWFUL). I have one gripe from doing a little PvP today on Tribble. Forced map exits are liek 5 secdonds after the match ends. Why is this? How do you expect players to review the match results when you don't even have enough time to glance at your own score? On top of this, challenging a player is busted! Having to log out and relogin each time I wanted to start a new match is terrible! If Cryptic is trying to ruin PvP for the few left that still enjoy it. You're doing a good job! So, force map exiting needs to be adjusted to 20 seconds at a minimum and you need to fix the challenge system so I don't have to log out and back in to be able to challenge players after a match has ended.

It looks like Klingons can fight some of the NPCs on DS9. Maybe fix that to force them to behave themselves. Although it may be interesting to allow Fed and Klingons to fight each other in Quark's bar to have a brawl or something and maybe security could come and stop us. (Like an event?)

Also on DS9, could you maybe add a sickbay (even if it's really mini) in one of the rooms in the Promenade so that the user who treats injuries isn't in the cargo bay? Maybe move the Skill Trainer to Ops, too? It may be cool to have the wormhole appear in the window of Sisko's office.

Also, I tried switching my costumes in the regular UI (not the tailor) and it wouldn't let me for my sixth and seventh slot.

This looks pretty similiar to the STF bug... which does exactly the same thing

Oddly enough that sounds very similar to an issue I get from time to time on holo even.
Wonder if there is a relation somewhere.

Off and on, when I go to load an instance it gives me the away team chooser prompt then I click it and it just sits there acts like it is going to load then does nothing, not even a load screen.

Have to re-log, then it works.

Probably not even closely related, but it sounds similar to an extent at least in how it is resolved.

Differing issue of course, but very familiar to an extent.

The new signs around ESD etc look horrible. What market are you trying to appeal to? It looks good if you are 5 years old!

If they keep going making things look more childish our bridge will end up like this...

    http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_l5z7fwzPTN1qz8x31o1_500.jpg

Also Temple Offerings Mission only gives 10 Diplomacy XP! I need 5000 to my next commendation....

Just saw a tweet from Thomas the Cat saying those changed signs are apparently goin live no matter what.

These things look absolutely hideous. It's like LEGO Universe, Hello Kitty and STo all got blended up and vomited onto my screen. They're truely one of the worst pieces of art I've seen in a game in the last 10 years. I cannot reiterate just how ugly they are. More than a few people agree.

It's stupid to change the rather fitting ones we have now just for the sake of change. There's absolutely no reason for this.

    Wasted time.

sorry, I think these are final. I am not an environment artist so I can't directly change them.

    The explanation is :

It [signage] wasn't good. That's the whole point. People were getting lost and couldn't even find the Admiral's office.

So I guess the answer is, "make incredibly obnoxious new signage for the tiny set of people who couldn't find the huge, 'Admiral's Office' sign". How about making a better map? Or making the old signs stand out more by adding icons next to the words that don't look like they belong in a comic book?

I'm seriously questioning Cryptic's art direction right now. If this is what F2P is going to bring us, count me out. It must be someone new proposing this stuff. I can't beleive anyone would think the new graphics are Trek-like. Champions-like? Sure. Trek? No.

I think there's at least 4 threads on the board talking about how awful the new signage is, with most people agreeing, and Cryptic's still moving forward with it? THIS is the issue they want to make a stand on? Signage? Really? I would think putting the old signs back would be an easy win for them to improve their reputation with the community right now.

I agree, the new signs are horrid from an art perspective, but the old ones were pretty bad from a UI perspective (if newbies have to keep asking where to go to get their next ship). Not sure how to fix though. Maybe try putting SFA-style signs in the hallways while keeping the old signs above the doors would be better.

    [Diplomatic mode engaged]

I think it's fair to say, they can do a lot better.

The sinage on Qo'nos and SF Academy is very professional looking and very clear. Can we have that on ESD please?

After doing a bit more PvP'ing on Tribble today, I won't be doing anymore. Almost the entire PvP system is broken! If it doesn't take 3 bloody minutes to load up the challenge window, it's having to log out and log back in after finishing a match because PvP teams don't seem to auto drop. You guys at Cryptic may hate it when people complain but you guys break more than you add/fix! The current build on Tribble isn't fit to go live this time next year, let alone in less than a month! I sure hope your entire team hides their heads in shame, as this build is a laughable joke!

My opinion would be to put back the old signs, but improve the MAP. Or create 4 consoles (1 in each section of ESD) where you select an NPC, and it becomes an objective to go to them. That way, a circle will appear on the map to show you where that person is. (If people truly can't find people.)

i like the whole doff system :) but i find the listing used for doffs on the exchange very bad why not make the listings posible per class instead of name now u have to wade thru whole lists of all type of chars just to find that 1 or 2 bartenders or diplomats in a list of over 400.:(

new signage in esd is not to bad except for those big pointuy arrows next to the sign think even newbees can understand tht u need to walk left if the sign is on the left.;)

i have not yet tryed the dilithium exchange but i think i like the concept even for lifers it can be fun to get extra cryptic points that way

i think there needs to be a bit more explenation in the game for some things like i recently optained a schematic but i dont know wat to do with it ( optained it thru a espionage mision i think.) :D

and personaly i think that the leveling curve is to steep aka u level up to fast loved the old system where u could farm a whole sector for every mision and still need a few defend misions to be leveled enough to go to th enext map now i am already admiral and still doing the chain mission that was meant for low rank captain notice itfrom the quest reward overcharged sniper rifle.

We will be bringing the Tribble server down for maintenance to apply a new update.
    ST.16.20111113a.5

Updated the Vulcan Tal’Kyr shuttle so it has engine trails.

Well thankfully we got that fixed, am I right?

That reminds me... Why is the Covariant Mk X [Cap]x3's being removed? They don't show up at the vendor on K7 anymore and CTRL+Click gets you a red text of it in the chatbox but with no description of the item. I'm going to be very unhappy if I can't get these shields on any new toons i level.
