They should rename Star Trek Online to Ferenginar Online. 8000 refined dilithium ore is not enough. All exploration missions are dailies? lol Wow... this game is going to beat SWG on the fail-o-meter if this goes live.

The refinement ratio appears to be 1 button click to 1 case of packet corruption with a side order of disconnection. Oh well, this is why this is BETA folks. Remember, we test it on here so it doesn't happen when it goes live.

You're of course assuming they listen to us and fix the problems we've all voiced regarding the new economy (and the grindfest that follows), the new inflated C-Store prices, and so forth.
Please Cryptic, don't pull a SWG failure like SOE's New Game Enhancements(NGE). That ultimately killed an already dying game. They had their chance and blew it. DON'T do the same. I love this game, so don't TRIBBLE it up.
So it's looking like Free-to- play, really means grind or pay to play.
Not happy with the not getting a free ship when I rank up, this needs to go back to the way it was before.
Also not sure what the Dilithium exchange rate will be, but if it's 1:1 and we only can get 8k per day, that's not okay.
As a UA3, I can assure everyone that leveling on a previous-tier ship isn't that difficult. Also, buying the white level-appropriate gear from the ESD vendors isn't difficult, so you don't have to go around flying with Mk 5 gear.
However, if you want it all, there's an easy solution: go back to Holodeck and power-level that character you've been meaning to build. I think we're still a ways from f2p going live, so you do have time.
Lets let the actual user activity tell the story of what's valuable.

Unlucky me flies an escort though and there are no cannons of white quality......
It would seem that my earlier comment about Cryptic turning us all from humanitarian explorers that we are supposed to be (at least on the fed side) into Miners and Pirates was indeed prophetic. I just did the Starfleet Academy event. I never saw more kill stealing and piracy even on EVE or WoW.
To be honest I'm very disappointed not just with the stupid dilithium system, but with the way this lot has been released on to Tribble. Each time a feature has been added it has been added in an incomplete form that means it is not possible to properly test to gain a decent understanding and view of how it performs or if there is actually anything right or wrong with it!
At present it's like we've been given a cricket ball and asked if cricket is any good, without all the other necessary equipment or means to make them. In short, I'd like something complete to test, if it doesn't work then I can test it an provide feedback on why and how it doesn't work.
then the price of everything that costs dilithium needs to be 1/10 what it is now, and ships need to cost energy credits again. the current dilithium price for everything is literally 10 times to expensive, its mind boggling how off this is.
I'm going to one up this idea, All baseline ships should cost EC, and the +1 ships should cost Dilithium.
I wonder how the PVP crowd will feel about how much PvE they'll need to do to grind sufficient Dilithium.
That'll be a fun thread.
Ditto. PvP will be ruined because of this (I guess that's one way to shut up the people complaining about the lack of pvp content - make it so unbearable that people quit). On top of that, I agree with Heezdedjim too, we've been hearing promises for big and balanced things that don't change things for existing players for weeks and when it comes time for implementation and patching, what we see looks like something that was thrown together last minute and only geared for silver players who want to "win" the game only by buying on the c-store and not actually playing the game.
And if they cannot see this amid the pages and pages of people telling them that this is bad, then I really do not know what else to type.
Let's hope feedback is heard and acted on instead of just acknowledged and ignored.
By the way, has anyone confirmed that if you pay for a Tier 5 Excelsior, you get the Tier 3 model as well? Or are these two separate and distinct purchases, meaning that the Excelsior on Live is scheduled for a 2x to 2.5x price increase?
So i hit ra uh1 and got nothing for it.No dilithium no placard.Cant even get a ship from the cstore to replace my captain level ship as they all cost more than the test stipend.Might want to rethink that one

At the other side, let them do exactly that. Drive the Car against the next Wall so that the Game will end. Because only if it ends there is a chance that a better Company than TRIBBLE...

To be honest, you've pretty much described Cryptic's entire development philosophy with Star Trek Online. They've pretty much been rushing without stopping to polish and look at balance or gameplay since the game launched.
Yes, they've stopped to re-balance skills and make gameplay changes, but their "We need to rush this out! We don't have time for real QA and playtesting!" philosophy that made the game such a rotten egg at launch permeates everything they've done.
The game has come a long way since it launched, but it's unfortunate to see that the same philosophy persists. It's hard to believe this is the same studio that produced CoH/CoV.

When all you've got is a cricket ball, there's only one good thing to do with it.

Also, what this with the limit of dilithium? Limit it to non paying members, but don't TRIBBLE your paying customers or Life Timer's

Client crashed twice within the space of ten minutes, both on SFA trying to do the event there.
Reading other peoples posts it also seems trying to refine ore, also causes a disconnect.
Not impressed Cryptic.
edit: Nevermind...seems everyone says it's broken. Good job Cryptic...
EDIT: for clarification, i'm 'unaffected' in the following ways: not feeling angry, disappointed, cheated, or anything else of the sort.
EPIC FAIL!!!

I´m not very thrilled atm... can´t even get a ship for my Admiral, not enough test points...
We shouldn't have to worry about buying a new ship in the first place. It should have been free upon ranking up..

My apologies. I didn't know.

Throw it through someones' window
Approaching four and a half hours since they posted these patch notes, with not one response of clarification or explanation.
Agreed! Please don't rip your loyal subscribers and future gold members off!
They´re still twirling their mustaches.
Yes... I'm honestly surprised that they'd ignore all the negativity in this thread. How is that even good business sense!?
