    This is sort of a minor thing, but would it ever be possible to get holsters as a costume option, either on the belt on on the hip?

    19 - will we see a PVE mission like the 'crystal line entity' but featuring a single borg cube making the cube seem more like its counterparts from wolf 359 and the typhoon sector?
    20 - what are your plans for starfleet Academy now that it had been added?
    21 - when will we the rest of sol system?
    22 - Are there anyplans to have Jupiter Station and Utopia Panisha as places one can visit?

    I'm going to try asking this again, maybe last time my question was difficult to understand.

    Why are the Caitian Boffs treated as Very Rares and exclusive C-Store items instead of them being available at the ESD vendor or as "rank up" rewards? Please can you explain why this was not done? Why were they treated differently from the Klingons, Ferengi, Tellarites, Pakleds, etc.?

    A hint: This has nothing to do with Borg BOffs.

    Why can we not freely obtain Caitian BOffs from the ESD and DS9 vendors by spending Starfleet Merits, the same way we can with Klingon, Ferengi, Tellarites, Pakleds, etc.?

    Your previous answer was not clear, please can we have a straight answer? I will keep asking until we get one. :(

    What plans, if any, are there to add non-humanoid characters other than the Tholians into the game, particularly in the Character Creater?

    Do you plan to introduce the M.A.C.O. uniforms to the game in some fashion?

    Are there any plans to expand crafting so that we can have more control over the traits that an item receives? Let's say we start with a basic Mark XI Quatum Torp, then we can choose to add any one of up to three rare particles. Dekyon would give a [ACC] trait, Metreon [Crit], etc... in this way we could make custom weapons to fit our play style.

    Aside from looking at a BOFF's traits to see if they possess any "Superior" traits, will there be a way to quickly identify which of the BOFF's we have assigned are green, blue, or purple? When we obtain new officers, their rarity color is shown, but that is lost after they join your crew.

    With Starfleet Academy having been introduced, and the new FED tutorial in the works, will we be able to use the Academy's Holodecks to take part in the Unbeatable Scenario, aka the Kobyashi Maru?

    Will we be able to use Utopia Planetia to construct our own ships, by which I mean take a template (Cruiser, Escort, etc) and customize weapon slot allocation (from a predetermined number) base Hull strength, etc. Could this be used to Retrofit old ships? And if so, could this be done through EC, Emblems, Marks or a new currency specifically for this feature?

    Will we be seeing a FED carrier in the near future?

    Are we ever going to see, more and better hair for players, instead of the lego style hair we have now?

    Are we ever/ can we get areas that are instanced off for those who enjoy Role play so that we don't interfere with others game play?

    Will we ever see a way to upgrade lower tier ships to upper tier?

    Men in skirts? Please?

    Will we ever see unlocked race parts in Alien creator, if we purchased said race already? i.e. Ferengi or Caitian ears, Caitian tail, etc?

    Would it ever be possible to get a barber shop(tailor) and an exchange/mail console on our ships?

    Are there any plans for missions that involve a space walk and zero gravity?

    Will Shuttlecrafts, Runabouts, etc. get their own respective interiors?

    Will ships like the Defiant class, the Galaxy class, etc be given their own respective interiors? I'm sure players would like to see other engine rooms for those ships instead of the Sovereign class default we currently get.

    Will the open Film TNG and DS9 uniforms get a more accurate collar?

    Will there be Star Trek: The Motion Picture uniform variations released like the jumpsuits or short sleeve uniform tops?

    Will we ever see any STII - STVII movie uniform variations like the landing party jacket, Kirk's vest, Scotty's bomber jacket, etc?

    The STII - VII uniforms were seen in several episodes of TNG without a turtle neck collar. Will that variant become an option for a future update?

    I'd like to be able to use TOS rank braid on a TNG uniform. Are there any plans to let mixing up rank insignia for different uniforms just as it is currently possible to use TNG com badge on the ENT uniform?

    Are there any plans to release the uniforms used in the original Star Trek pilot episodes "The Cage" and "Where No Man Has Gone Before"?

    Would you consider making uniforms only seen in Star Trek comic books available in STO?

    Bajorans and Ferengi are allowed to wear things respective to their cultures with their Starfleet uniforms. Will a baldric like that worn by Worf in TNG and DS9 be made available at the STO tailors for other Starfleet Klingons?

    Any plans to release the admirals uniforms worn in TNG, DS9, and VOY?

    My first set of questions pertains to ships in general:

    1. In terms of ship DLC, sometimes it feels a bit unbalanced. There are holes in some places, and other times it’s hard to tell how these DLC ships fit into the “end game” play experience. For example, there is no DLC alternative for escorts at the commander or Rear Admiral level, while cruisers and science vessels do (in fact, two each at the Rear Admiral level). At the Vice Admiral level, escorts are the only ones with a DLC ship. Are there any plans to fill these gaps in ship availability?
    2. In relation to the above question, do you plan to more evenly distribute ships to the 3 archetypes in the future?
    3. Additionally, in terms of game design, just how long do you intend players to use these DLC ships? Are Rear Admiral DLC ships just as strong in the hands of a Vice Admiral, or are we expected to be using Vice Admiral tier ships?


    My next several questions have to do with ship interiors:

    4. Are there any plans to extend the bridge themes to ship interiors like you did with the TOS bridge?
    5. Are there (or could there be) plans to allow ship captains to set dress codes for their ships?
    6. Do you plan to expand ship interiors more? Adding shuttle and cargo bays, holo decks, Jefferies tubes, etc? (these areas could even be incorporated into missions and ship functions, like shuttle selection and mission replay)
    7. On a related note, is there any chance to see more ship based missions? A great many of the best stories in Star Trek take place on the ships themselves. Missions could even be class based, such as tactical officers repelling invasions, science officers curing a ship wide sickness, or engineering officers repairing critical ship functions. After all, not all the action in Star Trek is in space or on strange new worlds! A key element of the Star Trek universe is the ship and her courageous crew.

    I remember in one of the previous "Ask Cryptic" threads the possibility of the Fleet Admiral rank allowing players to set up a space mini-fleet in a similar fashion to how the present ground away team works. I know that this rank alone seems to have dropped into the background, but would it be possible for this to be a reality at Vice Admiral? And if so would we have to choose from a preset range of ships or could players choose ones that they have in store at the moment? I, personally, would like to be able to run my Miranda with Connie and Excelsior, or all five available versions of the Enterprise.

    Is there any way that the Klingons could get the K’Tinga Battle Cruiser as a Tier 5 or 6 retrofit?

    With the upcoming change to costume slots (ie. removing the distinction between Duty and Off-Duty costumes), will some of the costume options become available for KDF characters? I'd really like to put my KDF Lethean captain into the Mercenary outfit, for instance.

    In the July Ask Cryptic, we saw this exchange:
    Q: KBFLordKrueg Now that we have a beautifully redone Qo’noS, can we hope for more Klingon missions soon as well?

    A: With launching Season 4, the entire team is focused on adding new content over the months ahead that will utilize all the new cool features and combat updates in this release. We are currently in development on the following content: Featured Episode Series 4 which will take place around Deep Space 9, Special Task Force updates to improve and balance these missions into something fun and/or challenging to play, Borg Invasion Events which will include a weekly ground assault on a to be announced species homeworld as well as hourly Borg Deep Space incursions into all sectors, new locale flavored neighborhood missions for social zones, OpenPVP Encounters, and four new Fleet Actions (1 exclusive ground and space FA for each faction). So yes. We absolutely plan to release some great new content to show off the new combat updates in Season 4. All of this content is currently scheduled to release at various stages in Season 4 between now and October.

    I know I'm not alone in pointing out: That's not an answer to his/her question. He asked about Klingon Missions, not Faction Neutral Content.

    So here it is phrased to remove any confusion: What's the word on significant non-repeatable (except through Mission replay) KDF-exclusive Storyline PvE content?

    Any word on an Advanced Heavy Escort (Commander level/RA Level Retrofit) as a counterpart to the Excelsior and Nebula?

    Will the list of ships trophies to hang on the walls of our ready room/crew lounge be updated to include models of ships that have been added to the game? For example when I’m on my Excelsior I’d love to have a gold model of the Excelsior class in my ready room.

    Any news on KDF ships, especially Orion/Gorn/Nausicaan ships for lower levels? Also, the NX grappler seems like a perfect fit for a Nausicaan pirate ship and the Oberth’s plasma manifold console would thematically fit a Gorn or Orion ship. Just saying.

    Finally, can I get a bartender with a big floppy hat for my ship lounge? :)

    I've been playing a lot and when i am a Ensign and or Lieutenant and i don't have all my Ground team covered by Officers i have secuirity and the Security is always dieing fast, is there gonna be anyway to upgrade weapons and shields on them like you'd do for a regular officer? and will the STF's be unglitched like the Terradome and people are having so much trouble with the Cure. if we could get passed the Cure it would be much easier. You guys making STO ROCK!:)

    1) While I realize this is a LONG shot, as well as tech-heavy if it was possible... i do wonder if it is possible there would ever be a Starship Creator of some sort?

    Ex.) We would have a ship screen, similiar to the customization screen, where we have all the pieces of in-game ships available to us (faction-separate of course). Then we choose the template (Cruiser, Escort or Science Vessel, for Feds)

    Then, if we choose Cruiser, we would have all the Cruiser parts available to us (the Sovereign's saucer, the Excalibur's nacelles, and so on). Using these parts, with a possible feature that allows us to customize the individual parts as well, we make a kitbash of a ship. We would get to choose the ship's turn rate, the BO slots, and so on

    After we finish, we would press the finish button, which would send it to you, Cryptic, to be considered, as well as you who decides the final stats, if you accept it to be in-game at some point. (How this will happen, I don't know, but my question is... can it be done, in any way?)


    2) With the Enterprise-F class confirmed in in-game at some point, can you give us any hints about it's stats? Weapon layout, BO layout, consoles, etc

    3) Any hints on when the Fleet Admiral upgrade will come? Also, can you give us anything, ANYTHING, on the rumored 'Away Team in space' gameplay that this might involve?

    4) In Priorty One, you mentioned that the Enterprise-F would have variants to it's look, can you give us any hints as to what these looks entail? (or are they top-secret? :p)

    5) Are the extra costumes for the Rear Admiral ships (both halfs, all three professions) ever gonna be available in-game? for free or otherwise? In addition, what about the T1 ships? (besides the miranda)

    6) The Foundry was a great addition, and the upcoming Duty Officer System will be as well when it does go live... but any ideas for the NEXT big idea to implement in-game? :D

    7) The Ship variants you mentioned in the July Engineering report, any idea on when they will come in-game? Also, will they be free, or available in-game for a price?

    Any possibility of 'Historical' type missions showing up?

    Kind of like the last episode of Enterprise, where Riker was reliving part of history on the holodeck? I'm sure the hangup here would be likeness rights =/

    Would it be difficult to add some way to sort our costumes?

    Any hints about who we'll meet first from the crew of the F?

    What are the dev's thoughts on letting us continue to use lower-tier ship skins with higher stats as we level? (like an Exploration Cruiser's stats with a Stargazer-class skin for example)

    Hello. Can you give us an estimate about when you'll introduce in the C-STORE the bonus items from pre-order ( like the TR-116 rifle, etc) ?
    I know that many people would buy it as it hits the store ( currently an e-bay auction for such a code for this rifle is reaching 100$ ).

    It was said in a previous Ask Cryptic that The Exclusive items, the the TR-116, Borg BOff, Red matter cap, are all on a sort of agreement. When the agreement contract expires, then Cryptic may place them up in the C-store for our use.

    Two Questions:

    When will more resources become available to the Foundry? Many of the new costumes are unavailable as are many maps. If I remember correctly, the Oberth was available for use on Foundry for quite some time before it was available for purchase, and before some of the uniforms that came out around the same time (I think the Bajoran Militia ones come to mind) but those and the uniforms that came afterwards (Jupiters, Open-Jackets, et al) are still unavailable.


    I noticed that Shooter Mode is disabled in Tribble Foundry. Will Shooter Mode also be disabled in the live version?
