  • Stunning Blast? Why are we talking about archer-only genie skills? Anyway, you've clearly never pvped against competent AA/LA... Mage: *Distance Shrink, Glacial Snare, Force of Will if you get close* loluslow? Cleric: *Purify, Holy Path, Silent/Chromatic Seal, Triple Spark, Elemental Seal, Tempest, laugh at you on WC*…
  • ...clearly, you understand nothing of the mechanics of this game. Read the skills before you make inane statements with no basis in fact. Mastery for magic and melee works differently. Lv 11 sage melee mastery adds "Gain an additional 150% weapon damage in werefox form. Sage version always gives 200% damage increase." Now,…
  • I suppose I should probably do so. However, my info on all but one will have to be speculative from the descriptions since I have, by and large, quit PWI as of late. Still, I can get around to it before too terribly longer. To all the others who've posted, especially those in my defensive, I'm glad if I was of help, and…
  • As a magic class, you should never use a mdef belt (except maybe for channeling, and that should be a separate set). Pdef is much more needed for a mystic. However, both belts are indeed suboptimal. If you want a cheap but good belt and you have a barb friend +95, then collect the 7 "Demonal Documents," do the quests, and…
  • Hm... "The Original Sage Veno" if I may? Not 100% accurate, but I'm pretty sure I'm one of the older sage venos on LC, from when everyone was blah blah demon and there was no sudden demand for sage amp....
  • "Aside from the 100 skill, AS, and cragg, Bramble Tornado is a mystic's hardest hitting skill." =P I caught that, and fixed it after I posted, yeah. Edit: Whoops, I looked at the wrong place in my post. My bad, I forgot to edit that first instance when I was fixing it. I chose ironwood and bramble because they're roughly…
  • Yeah, this does work. I tried it a while back on Thicket, dmg testing with wep and the consistent damage there. Using Thicket or summoning a pet gives it half your attack lvs, and Frenzy gives +20 attack lvs. Thus a pet summoned while using thicket has an extra 10 attack lv.
  • To the above, plus trollz; spoken like true carebears. Granted vit is **** on mystics, but it's great on a veno. Only a pver could reasonably say it's not.
  • Venomancer skills have a high % weapon damage component in their skills, which means that base magic attack is less of their damage. Even so, with the gear and shards available today, HA venos are pretty much antiquated. Their damage is garbage, and survivability isn't terribly better than that of an arcane. Given that,…
  • If children are to stay off the internet, then you shouldn't be here yourself. My argument is not an ad hominem, because the personal attack involved is not irrelevant to the issue of the validity of your views. And, indeed, in that context, making an attack on you personally in the realm of whether you present information…
  • More likely, he's just a troll. Anyone who posts without a character avatar is probably hiding that he/she has no real basis for their statements because they have no character of significance, or because they don't want their actual character to be associated with something said as a troll.
  • With regard to HA venos... refer to my signature for my opinion on the validity of that build. <_<
  • Only plant that has -ever- been usable with another already out is Vital Herb. And healing herb's heals are so weak that it's pretty much /care at any significant level...
  • Sadly, I've yet to encounter anyone on Lost City I'd want to award that title too. Felis is the only other I've seen with 100 skills, but I can still oneshot it with my own and beat it more often than not. Eary is nothing to write home about--for the leader of the most powerful faction on LC, she's a surprisingly easy…
  • Obviously I'm not counting high interval squads who can drop it before the first beetles spawn. Some squads can also kill them, but in my experience most people fail this, and leave the bbing cleric to be mp drained. Even if you use the archer method, if I was that archer and had an mp charm I'd damn well want purify. Any…
  • Pvp, in a word. Also TT and other boss-dding situations. It' really about a 66% chance, so fairly useful. Also quite useful in gv, especially if you go without a bm. I recently did some like that in getting my 3rd fairy...
  • I know how it works in that regard, since I have sage soul degen, but I want to know if it takes the 8% off before or after it applies the damage. If it applies the hp debuff first, then the damage is better because you're hitting them when their hp is lowered; if it's applied after, the the debuff wastes some of the…
  • Very nice. Curse you, making me want to go farm the 80-100m to get the two skills. T_T But an impressive bit of damage there, to be sure. The HP debuff takes effect before the skill damage, correct?
  • Ah, fair enough. Yeah, context helps, ehe. I was just confused initially. But yeah, Gale force isn't just the largest mystic aoe, it literally has the largest AoE radius of any non-genie skill. I wonder if it would be possible to time casting a skill + bramble rage at the same instant so both get crit buff? I look forward…
  • Of the 4 debuffs that the Creeper puts on, three of them work on most bosses. These are pdef reduction, mdef reduction, and attack speed reduction. Most bosses will resist channeling time increases, however. The consistency is hit and miss in that here's no guarantee of which debuff you'll get when, but if no one else in…
  • Is is supposed to be impressive? Would've been better with triple spark, honestly. It's a potent combo, to be sure, but posting it without any explanation is kind of silly. It's not a big surprise that 100% crit + biggest aoe in the game = decent damage in tw. Also don't see the significance of it being sage. Could you…
  • I fail to see how time spent playing really means anything as far as not being a fail. You could still be a terrible player--though, I'm not going to accuse you of that. I think your play just doesn't take you into many situations where clerics' superiority shines. Examples of situations where purify is required: MP drain…
  • That's just a completely silly perspective. Clerics have purify, ironheart, and BB, none of which a mystic has an equivalent to, and mystics use quite a bit more mp, as illustrated by my example above. Mystics have Falling Petals and Salvation, which clerics cannot match. These are useful, but ultimately weaker measures in…
  • Your points about difficulty are entirely valid. However, I do not believe that the difficulty is what she's really concerned about--rather, the idea that people try to railroad mystic into exclusively playing a role that, for someone playing for the whole range of the class's abilities will find boring and wasteful. The…
  • The reason AS gives no agro, can't crit, and doesn't show in your damage log or the target's is because the attack is actually done by an invisible mob. In that sense, it's like Thicket, except that it still gets boosted by sparking because its damage has a factor of your magic attack in it. Since the pet attacks and…
  • Pretty much any melee class will use a lot relative to their (extremely small) mp bar if they skill spam, but from my experience with seekers, it's not any worse than barb or skillspamming bm outside of the zhen. Your skills don't use significantly more mp than them, and I'm pretty sure a plat mp or some Lv 40 pots would…
  • Seekers only have mp issues if they're spending all their time in zhen. No class is made to afk zhen, and in gv it's not that hard to get mp 3 to keep it up. I don't think seekers can really talk.
  • That isn't my attitude. I've pointed out time and time again that I personally do heal in serious situations. Not when people do idiotic things intentionally, or when it would just get me killed too, but if someone really needs the help and stupidity didn't get them into the situation, then yes, I will heal. I think you…
  • If there's a cleric in squad, then healing the barb on bosses should be their responsibility entirely. There's no reason to waste sparks on vital herb in those situations that could be much more effectively used DDing with Thicket or Cragg. And yes, mp usage is pretty obscene. I spend roughly as much or more on MP for a…
  • No, vital herb does nothing against debuffs, it just heals. However, at 8x a mystic really shouldn't be trying to heal fragrence imo. Due to a lack of purify (those doing frost, after all, usually had a cleric with purify), that boss is dangerous. If you can do it, props to you, but it's not particularly reasonable to…
