i was bored enough to read just about every comment in this thread and saw alot of people complaining about geting coin for stuff. You could go out and do some grinding thats how ive earned everything i got on all my characters. ive never farmed an instance for money only for mats i neededb:chuckle. it does take quite awhile but you can feel rlly proud once you get done grinding and got what you want lol.Collector of pet eggs, armor, weapons, fashion, and mountsb:chuckle0

TT and Lunar mats are only going to go up in price for a short time until there's yet another surplus of mats floating around. Then what?
They're essentially pushing everyone to cash shop with this update. If they leave it as is there's no place for the casual gamer anymore, it's all about who's willing to swipe their credit card.
Mind you, this is coming from somebody who farmed a good 75-80% of my gear and I never leave a single drop behind. I know that you can farm DQ for coin, NPC **** gear that mobs drop, etc. It's just not efficient anymore given the needs that all these Nirvana mats and R8 recast will create. New gear means new shards and refines.0 -

the learning curve on this game is less than 5 mins. Aside from pvp aspects, everything in the game is a faceroll.0 -
I don't see how anybody can be happy with this? I know that a lot of you want NV3 badly because you don't "cash shop" and this will give you an opportunity for you to get it, but you forget in one week everybody is going to be running around with r9r2 as well due to the cheap update.
PWI, you just RUINED the game even further. I have the exact same "feeling" that I had when I saw r8 available at $72 USD couple years ago. This game is like a private server now, free cheap G16 gear woot. Everybody running around with the same gear yea that's awesome!! Not. I'l see how long that will last.

As far as I am concerned it seems some also have an issue with the gap between undergeared and well geared being alot smaller than it used to be.0

3-1 and above is now useless with everyone having s3 gear.

The gear gap between the uber rich cs'ers and the casual players just shrunk tremendously. Now, it will be a matter of refines and shards.

First people complained about R9 being OP, and hating on r9's. Now that everyone has a chance to get the same gear, so everyone has the same playing field, they complain?
Isn't that what people wanted originally, to have equal gear so people can have more fun in tw?
I see the potential disasters with this nation war, but it also has other potential good. Can't deny the bad, without letting the good play out.
One really down side will be snobby players asking for r93rd cast to do bh, otherwise no invite. But with that gear, people can solo things now, not what pwi intended b:chuckle.0 -

Meh.. if they would have given a new instance to farm with new mats and new gear then this wouldn't be nearly as bad. People could easily gear up and others could still farm. The way they implemented this was poor at best, in one day everyone that needed cannies has them. And we still have one more Nation War this week. I said it before, the only thing this makes harder to get is R9, Nirvana and R9R2 is now much easier to get so if you already have R9 you're gonna be able to get better stuff pretty easy. If you don't, you can get T3 Nirvana pretty easy as well. High end gear is now easy to get and there's not as much of a gap, but taking away the ability to farm for cash is a poor tradeoff. I love this update, the amount of butthurt it's caused is hilarious. However, if I really played and were still working on my R9 axes and belt (woulda had it by now if I didn't quit so I guess it's irrelevant) I'd be pretty angry.
However, if cannies/raps stay at at least 30k/100k or so then this could still be an okay way to make some cash, provided you do well in the event and people buy your mats. Of course.. it's still rather poor, seeing as it's only 2 times a week and normally on 2x you can easily farm 100-300 cannies which is far more cash than what you'd see now.0 -

Nation wars hasn't even started yet in my server, yet uncannies are already at 50k and raptures at 250k....like cmon.....am I the only one seeing the problem in this?
People are idiots to think you couldn't even farm NV3 before this update in the first place, I did it without putting a penny in this game. In the end the majority of players will have G16 gear, also to mention the easily purchased r9r2 now, and now the only way to differentiate gear is to cash shop +10 and shards.
inb4 +11/+12 orbs WILL NOW BE AVAILABLE IN NEXT WEEK'S UPDATE!!! This game is going to hell, and I aint playing this **** anymore until they fix it.

THIS could save the game. They need something besides grinding and mindless repeating of the same old quests and instances to attract people into or back into the game.
Someone spent a lot on their Nirvy gears months ago? That's the price of having it before most others - just like in ANY MMO.

small cash shoppers will start to buy r9. but seriously, it's only a slight improvement from r9 to r9r.
non cash shoppers will do more TT and lunar for mats.
everyone will start forming warsong and lunar squads for molds, re-refine their already +10 G15 and r9 and start upgrading instead of leaving it at G15/r9.
people doing lunar means coin sink for in-game economy, gold price will go up in short term as people want buy MoG and GST. but will go down as coins start to disappear through dq nerf and lunar instance.
win-win situation not?

Pretty much. I hang out with friends every friday and my saturdays often get busy as well, so nation TWs will be rough to get to.
Here's the thing, I'm free to play and I've busted my *** getting to where I want to be. I'm close to having my r8r recast plate with -int, 2 pieces G16 amor, a G15 cube neck, L:UaD tome, staying 5 aps but having the defenses of an R9 BM. I prefer to PvE but alot of the best best PvEers are in the TW faction so I pk and pvp with them. Now, all my r8r, G16, and PvE gear will basically be pointless. To advance in this game I'll need to focus more on PvP which is not why I play. And most the PvE/farming opportunities are almost pointless.
The game has always been "free-to-play, pay-to win" but I had a good thing going where I could farm coin, use it to get gold from the AH, and use that for my gear. Now its so much more about R9, then R9r, then R9t3 that all other facets of the game are...gone.
I said I wasn't quiting in another thread, but I'm kind of feeling like there isn't anything more in this game for me.Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play. Mystic, Psychic, and Wizard left to level. b:victory0 -

Let's say the average person has 3 alts 100+. All of those alts now have Nirvana gear at least 2nd cast. Where does the coin to refine that come from? Nirv drops are a waste of time farming now and even selling. People are selling Canny for 20k and Raps for 50-60k here.
BH100 can give up to 5m coin, we'll take those 3 100+ alts and give extremely unlikely odds for BH reward. That's 15m coin a day, not counting anything you might NPC from doing base quest, Morai, drops you get in BH, whatever.
Prices on shards and orbs are now going to sky rocket as well, where do those things come from? Packs? How do you buy those if you don't cash shop?
People are focusing on Nirvana as a solitary entity when in reality it fueled more than just it's own market.
If they keep this then we all might as well be playing on a private server with the way things are getting handed out. While they're at it, they should make Dragon orbs a dime a dozen as well. And why not G12 gems, JoSDs and DoTs too? Then everyone can have the same gear and it's all about who can spam a skill combo the fastest and who's got the quickest reaction time for genie skills and apoth.
The whole fun of this game was being able to work for your stuff and finally achieving that goal (be it 5APS, 2nd Cast Nirvana, +10 gear, Full JoSD, whatever).
The game was broken when Sins were release... period. Everyone has an alt Sin and solo farms everything with an exclusive group.
Fact is, PWI pushes through the changes and say they are going to fix things and don't and they don't take a firm stand with the developers and they don't really care as long as people are still putting money in the game... and lets be honest... people are still putting money in the game so don't expect to be heard here. Even if they respond to your comments they are usually like, we are sorry we'll do our best, then it gets brushed under the carpet.

It's impossible to do trials now unless your in a Big Rank 9 guild were you can get one 10 man OP team to do them. Nobody wants to do them now except those that are too weak to go beyond trial 1.0 -

This is only good for ppl who already had their r9 done technically. In long terms economy will be that ***** up you will be glad if you can buy pots after 3 weeks of saving up. You can sell your own soul ingame, or CS even with your future kid's money.
Who can't do that can go and play another game, this is how the situation looks like.
I remember I farmed for my 2nd cast nirvy boots for 2,5 months and I was so happy I finally made it. Now everyone who got 2nd cast before will feel totally betrayed by the awesome ppl who came up with this idea. You guys should totally hire someone who is being friendly with studying economics, even with the basics you can tell how something like this affects the whole.0 -
Well, this sucks... Let's just hope it will have a good effect on the gold price at least... If not then F2P players like me are basically screwed... My cheaply geared DD characters won't be welcome anymore and mom will no longer be able to farm her charms for her BM/Sin (8 mil a piece on HT)... But afcourse everyone's expecting that classes like a tank to have one, not caring about if someone can even afford it...
So yeah, let's just hope this also means ppl won't be able to buy gold for these ridiculous prices anymore and that the sellers are forced to lower their prices... If that doesn't happen it's Game Over for every person here that doesn't spend money in a F2P game... b:surrender[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Sure I was getting rly sick of Nirvana, but honestly? U don't flip the switch one day
and completely erase it's existance or economy influence. I'm with the people who can't nation war, and got my 450m reverted into dust tonight. The least I can say is I'm pissed off over this big change in such short time. Atleast give us something that's equal to what u removed, not something that's limited to a certain amount of people in some regions due to timezone, and then to top it off - throw in OP rewards.
And to you Nahktuul. How do you think new lv100s will ever earn their r9s now if they don't wanna be in the gap of s3r9 and s3 nirv? It'll still be a gank fest...we who sit in r9 already
can easily get s3s, however, the ones without as much as 10k rep...might never reach past s3 nirvana..which will be considered the new scrub gear of the day when everyones got it. Just like how r8 nowadays is seen as mediocre and 'meh'. Prices will change..and if it changes the way most
think it will then s3 vs r9 had a bigger chance...with this update they just made that gap bigger.

Im sure people did bust some nuts getting recast, thing is everyone with a calculator knows it will cost over $500 cash just to recast your R8 weapon by now, especially if you need to buy the mats.
Many, like me, have desided they might as well just slowly farm R9.
I like the Nirvy gears, but real life prohibits getting it by grinding, especially since my first leveled and main character is a Mystic. Mystics are only ever sought after for a couple instances - and overlooked for the majority.
I work as well as keep a house - try to keep my family fed and clean at the same time. Most of us have a real life of some sort, and the game really is not fun without any real progress, or very slow progress.
I think people need to give the expansion more than one run before they condemn it.
I also think, if you are quitting the game, its over more than just an expansion.
The update has the potential to make the game last long after those that are probably going to leave soon anyway are gone...ijs.
Maybe it will once again help attract new players to PWI, which is something most servers sorely need. Would probably bring some old barbs back as well - who were eliminated from Nirvana after Casters was released.
