I am glad you saw a GM ...... None of my 11 characters between lvl 65 and 101 have. Where do they hide? Why don't they do anything to address the raunchy world chat? Why don't they answer when people call for them in world chat?

I saw a gm once. Earlier this year. In Archosaur south. It was a lv 1 cleric. It stood there like it was afk then logged out after everyone took turns harrassing it to do something about PWE's ****ups.

Downside, it didn't have it's gm weapon on, so i wasn't allowed to drool about the uber stats.

@Thread/issue in general: I've held off posting here (for the most part) because I don't think I could've devised a coherent post last night in my frustration at that time. What's becoming increasingly obvious is that PWE's management is just completely ineffectual when it comes to issues like this.

Correspondence with China can take months to hammer out any decent solution (see also: DQ price nerf). Our less-enlightened players aren't even aware that the devs are in China, leading to constant confusion and misplaced anger over "what the GMs have done now." And then you have frankie who, despite being patient and (somewhat) understanding with us, is nonetheless tasked with placating us with vague promises that we're being listened to, as per his job description.

Honestly, I try to like frankie. And I usually succeed in that effort, on a good day anyway (which is no small feat, considering I remember the Spoons Era). But this thread is just a prime example of the problems surrounding his position. Frankie was clearly backed into a corner here... faced with something he knows is a problem and knows he'll get read the riot-act for presenting, but nonetheless forced to put a pathetically transparent "happy face" on the whole thing.

I know talking about Spoons is taboo here, so I'm gonna keep this part short, but... at least Spoons was HONEST. >_> Whether that difference was a result of frankie's job description or just personal character, the fact remains that Spoons would've sympathized with us on this rather than trying to legitimize it.

But in short, I think the silver lining to all this is that it's brought these management issues to the forefront of everyone's mind. We have ZERO communication with the devs. If our issues are ever delivered to them in any form, it's done in one watered-down package by frankie. On the other side of that coin, the devs have virtually no regard for our version whatsoever (despite the fact that we have way heavier CSers here than they do there). Between this, TT3, and the DQ nerf, it's obvious where the devs' priorities lie. All of those are prime examples of how the devs made changes that fixed the CN version at the expense of ours. This is not sensible behavior for any international business. Every major decision should not be done on a one-way channel.

Frankie, if you really were a genuine liason between us, the community, and the devs and PWE higher-ups, then I think you would make every effort to see that the lines of communication remained open. But they've never been open. From day one we have never heard a single, unfiltered word delivered to us from the management or the devs. Everything is filtered through you, and when it's not bad news, it's vague news.

Of course, that's just the way it was designed. But it speaks to us of poor, apathetic management (at best). So you can write this in your spreadsheet of complaints: I think a lot of people here are tired of that design. I think a lot of people here would appreciate some open and honest discussion for once. Let the devs and the PWE execs know that maybe we'd like a letter from them, directly, once in a blue moon. I think they could take five minutes out of their day to show us that they are indeed human and that, hopefully, they have some shred of respect for us.

    [/rant]

EDIT: Removed earlier quoted post after realizing that seven freakin' pages have appeared between it and now, in the time it took me to write this. XD

Even though there's quite some high lvls pk-ing in the first room, there's plenty of other places there to pk. So far there's.. some jerks, but mostly fair ppl who will leave you alone if you don't poke them first P:
Had some fun pk with my fac mates in a diff room in sp!

There are plenty of other places there to pk, but when I went in there last night on my archer alt on Sanc, popped twice before he made it out of the first room. Sooo... I just got unlucky and caught the jerks then, cause on HT I've been popped more too. Where are the mostly fair people when I or my friends or my factionmates(albeit mostly on HT) are trying to get their stuff done? b:cry

if, yeah. but his job title is not "community liaison", it's "community manager". actually doing us any good, or representing our wishes and complaints to anyone else, are not in his assigned tasks; "managing" us is. so long as we don't, idunno, storm the PWE corporate headquarters with pitchforks and torches --- or, worse, actually stop charging zen en masse --- his job is done.

really, his position is a junior, private-sector, analogue of the white house press secretary; he's being paid to lie to the rest of the world in order to excuse his employer's misdeeds, and the whole world knows it. i actually feel sorry for frankie, just as i feel sorry for whoever has the WHPS job at any given time; the only way they could wreck their honor and personal integrity more thoroughly than by failing to do their jobs, is by doing their jobs well.

You do not recall correctly. Wraith Ploy was there long before PK anywhere was banable.

You guys are missing the point. 1-30 doesn't need to be in SP, that's established. Most of the QQ are about Silverfrost. On PvP server, people high enough that need Silverfrost can be PKed. If people on PvP server got that boss done fine, despite they can be killed in SP, what's the problem with 8X-10X blue names on PvE server?

How so? We have told you repeatedly the problem is that this is supposed to be a PvE server, not PvP. Therein lies your problem, you don't see me on a Pvp server whining b/c I just got 1 shot now do you? It doesn't matter what the ability is or isn't across all servers, the fact is I rolled on a PvE b/c I didn't want to Pvp. Now they've changed the rules forcing anyone who would do a quest in there to Pvp... even if I could kill ppl and stay alive that still wouldn't be the point. When I tried to help a lvl 75 kill silverfrost yesterday for her culti, they killed her right before Frost died. She missed out and I was so frustrated I'm not willing to keep trying. It seems that some people need to head back to the playground, because their maturity and intelligence was most matched there.
b:chuckle The filter on the forum prevents a word that describes a crime and the world chat on the Heavens Tear server of the same game should be 21 and above only at times and they do nothing about it. Not even Howard Stern is as raunchy as some of the stuff I have seen on world chat in the game.

You aren't kidding. This isn't something that will change. Do a search on how many people from HT have brought up this same thing on the forums. No 1 listens.. other people from other servers call us names and make fun of us and say its not that bad, but they aren't on HT.. they don't see the things that are said that are right out of a XXX rated film. Stuff I wouldn't say in front of random ppl in real life, but apparently some ppl need to hide behind a video game to get their freak on.
The age limit is really 18+. If you're younger than that then you join at your own risk. However somewhere in the TOS it does say that they will clean up the language.

Also GMs I am really curious on just HOW you're going to monitor the game when half of you BARELY log in the game? :s

The age limit in the TOS is 13. 13 years and up for this game. Not 18. So no, they don't "join at their own risk". They join and their parents allow them because the TOS simply says something that they do not follow. This game has too many chiefs and no 1 to run the place. They all want to feel important but never do what really is needed to be done. It talks in the TOS about sexually explicit language yet in the 3 years I've played I only one time seen a GM online who actually said something in Red about something said in wc along those lines.

As far as them monitoring the game.. .those of us who play are their volunteers. Anyone who cares screen shots stuff and submits a ticket. Leaving it in their hands, alas; nothing is done.

I am 100% pissed off that you did THIS to SP. I think it's a totally inappropriate location. I suggest you move the mobs and bosses needed OUT of SP and allow the illusion stone to tele you DIRECTLY to Hall of Deception or MOVE the pk zone ELSEWHERE. I know these things have been said before and I'm glad that frankie, Shelly, and Kritty are getting the message through to the decision-makers, I just want to add to the pages of people telling you this wasn't a welcome change. Of course, most of us believe you don't pay attention to us over in PWI and most of us believe that if you do, you don't care about our complaints or suggestions.

Until something appropriate is done about this, I shall find it easier to not spend money on this game (yes, I have spent money on it in the past). If I wasn't leader of a faction, I would seriously consider rage-quitting this game. I chose to play on a PVE server for a reason.

Truthfully I don't care about silverfrost, most of the pvp are just in the front room with the demon fires (which can be found in a safer room to the right when you walk in sp). Silverfrost is in the very back and no one goes back there unless they need him. Stop complaining if you haven't really been in there and go see it for yourself. You know when to report someone is when you see a pk person around the corner near Silverfrost waiting for a low lvl. And yes I have seen that.

There is one thing I really am mad about. If they want to pk in there fine, let them have their fun, but make it so blue name people CAN'T get hit. That's all I care about. I don't know how many times my cleric died because of aoe's or sins appearing behind me and stabbing me in the back. I was blue named the whole time. If they can fix that I'll be happy.

    Hey all,

For our last patch, the developers decided to try something new - in keeping with the momentum of the PWIC tournament, they decided to give the players on the PW China servers a fully open PVP instance - they turned Secret Passage into a full PK zone.

Since our version almost 100% mirrors the Chinese version functionality-wise, we now have the same thing.

While this change is quite jarring, we think it will actually ultimately be a positive one, and for these reasons:

    1. Players have been asking for a place to PVP without dropping gear for a long time. This new Secret Passage fulfills that role.

    2. Secret Passage is not a mandatory instance for (edit: low-level) Spiritual Cultivation. Mobs needed for culti can be found just outside the instance as well.

    3. Those who need to enter the Hall of Deception instance can use the various Illusion Stones in Archosaur (one is at 529,664).

So, in short, we're going to change this rule and monitor the situation. We do have a lot of high level players who would like to enter the world of PvP, and I believe that this new version of the Secret Passage will give them that opportunity.

So please let me know if you have any questions, and I'd like to mention a special thank you to KrittyCat who worked really hard to talk with and help players during this most interesting situation.

Oh yes, I have many questions.
I still consider myself a noob. Even though i have been here a year and finally got to 57 level.

I know very little about higher levels and the workings of their adventure.
    I have MANY questions:

    1. do we lose gear after they kill us, can they steal our items?
I spend very little real money for Zen/gold whatever.
I spend what i can afford. Why would I buy a VIRTUAL item with REAL money just so some jerk with a power trip can kill me by breathing on me and take it for his own personal trophy?!!!!!

    2. Why would you place the PK thing in a LOW LEVEL dungeon? It is a higher level thing, not for lowbies.

    3. Is this just a ploy to bleed more REAL money from my (and others) hard earned pocket?

    5. It seems that the higher levels spend more REAL money on the game with fashion etc.
and that PWI is catering to them. While i understand the desire and greed for money, the little guy gets stuck out in cold, (or PKd in secret passage).

thanks for this opportunity to vent.

This has got to be the worst decision made in my 2 1/2 years playing the game.

If the intent is to provide an endless supply of cannon fodder and low level victims for the bullies and lowlifes of the game, then congratulations, looks like success.

Scream louder, people, or this issue will be ignored as so many others have been.

b:surrender Sry.... According to frankieraye's posts you have no right doing anything in SP unless you spend $18,000.00 in real money to buy uber gear so you can compete with people camping out in SP waiting to enforce frankieraye's new rules. His exact words are " If you're strong enough to kill Silver Frost, you should be able to handle yourself inside of Secret Passage." . I guess he feels Silver Frost is so much harder than 6 lvl 105 5 app sins and BMs in +12 gear???

Apparently, you are right. Cause silverfrost is so difficult compared to 5 lvl 105's with r9 +12 gears.
how many times do i have to say this:

THE PEOPLE WHO ARE GANKING LOWBIES (AND QUESTERS) DO NOT WANT TO FACE PISSED OFF 'FOR REAL' PVP'ERS WHO WOULD STALK THEM FOR REVENGE. THEY ARE DOING IT ON THE PVE SERVERS BECAUSE THEY CAN'T BE TOUCHED ANYWHERE BUT IN SECRET PASSAGE.

okay, did you get it that time??

You know he didn't. He's never going to get it!
Shade Eido and Silver Frost rooms should become NON-PvP rooms, then add teleports to them at the Illusion Stone for free.

    Rocket science.

that or... make the entire cube room 1 Pvp. Make the entrance non pvp and move the teleporters to start the cube and to get out there. There are many options they've got to fix this, but they apparently want to stop their income.

1.. They said that you won't lost stuff if you died. I have expirenced that, you really don't.

    2. Illusion stones can be found right next to the teleport masters in Archo, it's 5k game money to get in.

    3. No most of the pkers are really high levels and know how to make money. Low levels rarely have great gear that they can't buy on their on with game money that I know of.

    4. And I know high levels that can make about 10 mil or so a day with game money with no sweat. Fash is from 2 mil + so you can do the math there

Unless its been changed since I last looked, even blue names have a 1% chance of losing an item on death. I have experienced this twice in this game myself, and I have picked up an item a squad member lost by dying. It does happen.. or has in the past.

**** up (edit cut:end game cultivation) a major section of content for mid level players is totally un-acceptable. The Lost Empire is a major portion of midlevel content that cannot be accessed without completing Wraith's Ploy which requires killing Frost in SP.

    See:
    http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=297241

Easiest solution, which of course is the only one with half a chance of being implemented, is to simply delete the 'kill Frost' requirement. Set a bit somewhere that says completed for all, end of story. Juveniles can play at pretend PVP in SP, while the adults avoid the place and play the rest of the game.

I don't buy the whole premise of "the need for a place for pvp without loosing gear".
It sounds like bullsh*t from marketing to gloss over some fallout from the changes to the code done for the tournament. It's pretty obvious the code base is badly corrupted beyond the capabilities and resources PWC is prepared to apply. I feel sorry for these moderators and other gobetweens who want to keep their positions and not offend China while the player base fumes. Are you having fun yet!

If this can not be reversed, which is what should be done as most players have expressed, then take away to unfair damage to mid level players who need Frost to complete their cultivation. There are still plenty of formidable challenges left in that quest line, and Frost is just a repeat/re-use of FB19's boss so no loss there. Or this could be just the toe of the final death of achievement based leveling with the eventual cash shopping of cultivation about to inch in the door.

But PVP with-out gear loss! Come On! Talk about PVP carebear-itis! Poor little PVP-ers whining because they lost and they lost their gear. Tough luck. It makes no difference who took it. The victor chooses to take your stuff, or chooses to let someone else have at it.

No one QQs (yet) about people who pick up other loot that has been left to rot. The whole ninja stealing argument is totally bogus and if you can document any significant amount of that you would, but you can't, no one can, so forget it.

PVP without gear loss is more like dueling, not real PVP. Real PVP is one part death (with experience loss), one part gear loss, and one part winning or losing. PVP without gear loss or death, is called dueling. PVP with out gear loss is just poser PVP for losers who are convinced that their skills are so bad that they will lose all their stuff. Anyone who wants PVP without gear loss is pretty whimpy in my book. Grow some, PVP like the big boys do.
    Just some guy

    1. Players have been asking for a place to PVP without dropping gear for a long time. This new Secret Passage fulfills that role.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but does "without dropping gear" apply to people who are red/white as well? Do you get red when you kill people in SP?

Just wondering, since I am a noob still on the game. How am I suposed to kill dismal shade now?

People just pkes me as soon as I get in there. I even tell them I am just there for that reason and I still get pked.

That I know of, the dismal shade is a quest that only shows up until level 50. What if someone wants to do that actually.

It's like 4 level 50 guys walking in, into a hall full of level 70 -105 guys.

Most of the level 50 get killed. And sometimes they even steal the rare drop molds that it takes so much to get.

For example, let's say the abismal shade drops either Mold: Shady Blade or the Mold: Necromania Hat, wich he really drops.

You want to pick it up. Bam, PKed, then you gotta walk all the way in, try to pass the hall without getting pked again, and do it fast hoping you can still grab the item before getting pked in 1 hit again to get the mold.

Can someone explain me, why didn't they think on that?
If they monitor it, why didn't they see them doing it over a dozen oftimes already.

Just saying, I don't mind the pk servers but doing it in that dungeon is a bad idea, move it to another place where there are no monsters for any quest, as for in example a arena, or something else idk, but just make a special place for it, if it's so hard, why put it on sp, a place that low levels frecuent?
