Actually, the TW changes aren't what was deflating anything. After the update there was NO change in the prices for some time. Know when it finally changed? They put in coral packs that have only a .72% chance of Best Luck (instead of 1.72%). That's right, more than *half* of the best luck tokens are removed from those packs. THAT is when prices changed. Now that the regular Tiger packs are back with the full chances? The prices went back to what they were.

So, no, the update has not deflated the economy. But they did prove that removing Best Luck tokens would.

I said nearly the exact same thing as you back on page 101. But it doesnt matter what you say, Fistus wont listen, he's clueless as to what actually happens with economics.
Gold Dropped because they put Coral Packs on sale. Tiger/Sunshine/Anni packs had a 1.72% chance on ToBL, Coral packs only have a 0.72% chance. Players already know this. Historically, ALL times (has happened several times already) whenever Coral Packs were the Pack of the month, gold prices reduced from around 450-500k down to about 350k. Thats happened each and every time Coral Packs were the Packs on sale. THAT is why gold reduced, had NOTHING to do with TW moneys. However i do believe PWE knew this and would try to pass it off as their TW fix working under a fallacy of truth.

Let me ask this? Now that Tiger Packs have come on sale, whats happened to the price of gold? Went right back up didnt it?

Neither do the GMs, developers, PWI or anyone closely related to the game.

We don't want this change, it has F.A to do with gold prices in PWI as there's nothing wrong with it.

They can't put it back for us cos that changes the code for PW MY which has a huge gold price issue.

So moan all we like, it wont get changed, put up with it or move on is a VERY CLEAR message.

Speak for yourself. On my server gold has steadily gone down in price to even ~320k at certain times, and if you haven't noticed tiger packs are on sale. Whereas before it could get to ~450k or worse now ~400k seems to be like the high limit (or close to there) during certain times of the day only.

There is not one cause of inflation. Anyone who says that TW pay was not a cause of inflation (not THE cause because there is NOT ONE SINGLE CAUSE of inflation) cannot think properly.

And it wasn't an equal inflation -- no, it was in favor of the big TW factions. They get more coins so they get more purchasing power while everyone else gets less purchasing power in the market (so it evens out). You know, rich getting richer and the poor poorer. TW change = the opposite = good thing.

TW Pay for the big factions was mostly spent on funding future TW's. Players might have gotten 1mil per week in pay, which is what... Maybe $2.50 worth of gold per week?

2 best luck tokens would give me the equivalent of two and a half months of TW pay in a faction that owns 3/4 of the map.

Anyone who believes TW pay was a cause of inflation cannot think properly, sorry. TW pay contributed less than 1% of all coins to the game, if you watch the flow of best luck tokens and other pack items announced by Duke.

PWI wanted to reduce the flow of coins, so they:

    - Took away TW pay
    - Took away farming DQ
    - Took away farming TT
    - Added packs, packs, packs, packs, packs, packs, packs, packs, and even more packs.

Like I said before, the devs are not working on this game anymore. Most of the development team has moved on to Forsaken World to prepare it for release. If you don't like what PWI is now, quit. It's never coming back.

I'm looking into some Pay 2 Play alternatives. It would be cheaper. b:chuckle

    This is false.

Each of our games has its own separate dev team, and the PWI devs are in fact working hard on PWI content as we speak.

I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but I find this very hard to believe. Other than the wedding chapel (which is bugged, so nobody uses it anymore) and the new fashions, what have they worked on for the past 18 months?

Settings have been tweaked, and TW pay has been removed. TT bosses frenzy, and the tideborn classes have their 89 skills.

Seriously, an entire team of developers have done this in 18 months? Maybe I am dense (and if there is anything you can share about upcoming features PLEASE DO - we need a morale boost in this thread badly b:surrender)...

There are many things I still love about this game. PWI is the best MMORPG I have ever played. I wouldn't complain so much about the changes if I didn't care... I'm sure everyone else in this thread would agree - changes to fix problems in China feel like a slap in the face to the people who have dedicated themselves to the International version.

    Yes, you are quite dense.

Since Perfect World went live in Sept 2008, they released the Lost Empire expansion, the Age of Spirits expansion, the Tideborn expansion, as well as a bunch of other content updates.

So maybe you should actually do a little research before talking out your ***. It would make you look so much less stupid.

Well, thank you for the correction. Apparently the Raging Tides expansion was added literally right when I started playing. My friend on Lost City started in February of 2009, and I watched him play on a few occasions. He was having the same rubberbanding issues and glitches in FB59 that we have today...

Since I joined a year ago (apparently I joined just as the Tideborn expansion was coming online) I haven't seen much happen. It sounds like development was very active in this game, with an expansion coming out every few months between 2008 and 2009. Starting with late 2009, I have seen an event, some tideborn skills, and a bugged wedding chapel added.

Do you get why I am underwhelmed? I wish it was like it used to be, with an active development community and somebody actually *fixing* bugs rather than introducing new garbage into the boutique.

3 major expansions in 18 months is not bad by any means...

Recently there was Neinbeast (admittedly an old quest brought back), then replaced with Celestial Tiger. Also Forest Ruins is a completely new instance. I'm pretty sure the next expansion will be pretty major seeing how there hasn't been a major expansion in nearly a year.

I'll give you the 1 month update on LC:

3 wars this weekend. 1 is Essence, the 2nd is Kami, the 3rd is actually a newer guild that is going after a weaker guild's territory. 3 separate, isolated territories that used to get attacked each week have not been attacked. TW only exists because 2 of the 3 factions fighting will TW regardless... TW is dead.

You would have better quality TWs if everyone would stop trying to get the top gear. Keep your gear on par with the lower end factions that TW and you'd have a better time since it wouldn't be nearly as easy to win.

Everyone runs around in +12 nirvana then wonders why they win so fast.

http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=10126672&postcount=5247 12 fights on Sanct. The fight between Amp and Enel will be interesting and if Vindi had been attacking too it would have been perfectly normal TW weekend.

I personally think TW on HT is dead. We have Enrage taking over the map in a few weeks, the next powerful faction is Radiance, and they have like what.....45 mins TWs with Enrage at most on average?

Not saying Enrage killed the TW scene, but it just feels like no one cares about TW anymore.

Well after a month of TW changes gold is STILL at 400k >.>

Your plan has back fired developers/GM's. Time to change TW back to money rewards, take out Tokens of Best Luck 10mil Big Note AND remove packs. THEN gold will go down...

I say GM's as it seems they are the only ones that can report back to the devs (who the devs listen to half) and it seems they are not or just don't want to.

I say GM's as it seems they are the only ones that can report back to the devs (who the devs listen to half) and it seems they are not or just don't want to.

All of the recent changes weren't done to make things better, they were removing ways for high level players to earn coin in-game so they would be more likely to charge more money, plain and simple.

3-3 was made practically unfarmable for gold mats... many people ran that to make coin. Now people just reaching 99 are forced to chip the gold mats. TW pay was nerfed. That eliminated another source of income. One can say they've also decided to capitalize on the masteries market. People would buy a lot of packs, make books with the tokens to sell, now PW has decided to sell some of those skills via Bidding Hall.

Inflation isn't the issue, it's high levels making money in-game and not charging that was the real issue. Problem mostly solved. Some high levels are now charging more money, the ones who won't have mostly quit.
