...and don't say "the old one!"


Okay, so it's pretty obvious that a lot of you guys are not happy with the forum redesign, specifically the fact that it is much brighter than the old style. We're already in the process of redesigning the colors and background.

However, it is extremely important to us that you like the forum, and that you feel at home here, so we want to give you guys the opportunity to show us what you think would be a better look for it.

Here are 3 images for you guys to use as templates.

Feel free to use Photoshop or Microsoft Paint to change the colors/fonts around to something that you think would work better. Also, please keep in mind that any kind of change would will need to co-exist with pwi.perfectworld.com, so be careful with the colors :)



So, let the flaming stop, and let the creativity begin!

    I'm happy to see you are willing to listen Frank.

    I'd be happy enough wth anything darker on the edges, and expanding the text boxes. This new layout has for some reason shrunk the text boxes to an almost unreadable size.

    Also, the white is bad. I drink alot . . . white forums give me a headache :p

    So in that sense I don't honestly care for anything you've shown. Even a light blue background on the text boxes would be better.

    Maybe dark blue outside and light blue inside - if you insist on the blue.

    But the white is bad. Very very bad.

    ALthough my editing skills are horible,(and im not going to try) im fine with the border, and the layout, and how everything looks EXCEPT The white. White being an absonence of color hurts to look at. We need black or something REALY dark in order to see all the colors that the forums has to offer
    I quit. Nothing ever changes @ PWE or PW CN . Expansion was over hyped. Guild bases (that looked cool) can be destroyed, so why waste the time if your a in a small faction like me.

    Well for starters, Tideborn are not the only race in PWI.

    Hell, until they're finished, I wouldn't suggest pushing their existance so hard.
    Integrate some of the other races - human, elf, untamed - back into the design, at least acknowledge their EXISTANCE.

    That said: Frankie, there's no way to rectify these boards with the main site, since the main site is a cluttered unprofessional mess now too! Unless that can be fixed, we're stuck with the white.

    Edit:
    -I want this amateur ****-work gone.
    -I want whoever was responsible for OK'ing this fired.
    -I want a public apology to my retinas (and everyone else's) when this loathsome thing is corrected.

    Just something not as bright maybe like nice darkc colours like brown, black and purple. It's to hard on the eyes with all this brightness even with the brightness on my computer turned down. Oh and maybe add some designs to the lay out make it more stylish. Oh and please make it so the pictures streach the page instead of getting cut offb:surrender

    The former is more my preference, the latter an idea to build from. Now then, until these forums actually get fixed, I won't be posting anymore. You guys should really be ashamed of yourselves for even thinking something this crappy would be acceptable.

    I'm going to go play a different game now. I doubt I will be back for a while.

    the blue borders are fine...maybe a little bit darker. change the white to something not painful on the eyes. maybe a light blue. it would still be bright but not painfully bright

    I completely agree with the person who said that Tideborns aren't the only ones out there. I'm just too lazy to Quote it or press the 'back' button.

    I loved the interchanging picture (thingies?) in the old (ish) layout.

    Darker colours would be fantastic. b:cute

    It's not just the forums, it's the main site for Perfect World as well. It just looks messy.

    Personally I would like to see something similar to the old layout for both the main site and forums. They were very well put together, anything else is almost a downgrade rather than an upgrade. Server status and level rankings near the top and to the right side of the page like before. Easy to find/user friendly. Why aren't they there now anyway? The content of the main page on the official site's current layout is not pleasing either. You need to scroll down too much, unlike before.

    Color wise, anything that isn't this bright really. The white is too much and looks way too generic. Something more darker blue/purpley to fit with the Tideborns?

    Loose the add-section.

    Use all races on the forums pages.
    Maybe alternate them on refresh.

    Make it possible to have a couple of templates predefined for use players to choose from.

    Front page layout is way to square.

    Make it more curved/organic.

    Seriously, you made a forum, did it exactly right and it was awesome...and now you've decided to wipe it clean and go again?

    What's stopping me thinking up an amazing forum design for pw and you guys wiping it a few weeks later for something junk. I don't think giving your players the reason why you changed the layout is too much to ask?

    Just modified the colour scheme for now. I dont think my idea for a complete redesign for a forum would go over well here.

    redundancy is boring. they changed it before too..

    either way now people have a say in how to make it look, which is really cool and shouldnt be taken for granted, and reverting back to how its been for a long time is far from creative...

    The current design is cool, but would be nicer if it was a little darker. Maybe a cool shade of purple would look awesome in my opinion.

    I would be happy if they made the forums a little less bright. It dosen't mean taking the white out entirely, but tweak it a bit. The edges and bars really need a much more artistic design, maybe something aquatic. An example is the J.D. forums green bars, they have something more artistic than these plain light blue sticks.

    The banner artwork needs some help, I'm kinda tired of looking at the same spaced out girl, the zombie Psychic and the Assassin with a cleaning mask. I recomend an artwork related with the awesome scenery of the Tideborn lands, especially that blue planet. Having different banner artworks for each page helps too.

    The Tideborns are not the only inhabitants of the Perfect World. We Winged Elves and the other races need some recognition as well.

    You should show some of the other races too. The only reason they are showing the tide born is likely because they are the main part of the newest expansion. And plz make it a cool shade of purple lol
