    i need some help plz....my download stopped downloading at 83% and it says disconnected from server..anyone know wut i cood do? other than restart downloading...

    I downloaded client and data4.pck but i havent file install.exe
    should i download game again? ( i started download torrent), or can someone upload file install.exe ?

    hi i have a problem 2 only with patching when i`m trying 2 patch it stopps at Buff_str.txt :(annyone got a solution for this problem ???:(

    I did the torrent style thing to download the corrupted data4.pck thing but its still gonna take like 5 hours >_> unless im doing something wrong? :confused:

    have same problem,even tryed to alow it in firewall ,,but it seems that patch server is down or something,,,and yet there is no manual patch link :(

    I downloaded the pack4 you put up but my winrar is still saying its corrupted, not sure if this is a vista issue or not, PW-MY worked fine not sure why this one is being so chaotic, i tried the newest version of winrar as well as the beta version same issue both times

    When I try to open the download my internet starts to pop up but then shuts down and then a window opens that asks if i want to open or save. If I hit open the same thing hapens. If i hit save it saves then i try to open and it happens again. help.

    I'm having the same problem with the element.data..... it just stops, i dl it from the mmosite, and now i'm trying it through the torrent download to see if reinstalling that one makes any difference, but having a link to the manual patches would really help:eek:

    Please check the front page www.perfectworld.com and click on the links for obtaining a beta key. Then check out the FAQs, or Search here on the forums about how to get in the game once you have followed the instructions.

    I don't think anyone is available in the US to get a reply to you or try to work something out right now (night time here, Pacific Time). I will try to find out something about getting links to manual patches tomorrow.

    I had quite problem with update it just wouldn't pass some point like element file to update so this is what I did I opened client stoped update set up in update settings all 3 checked sets and then pressed Verify.
    I need to give command ones more Verify but after that I think it updated cuz it gave me option Start instead update and it sayed this time that client Version is 3 and not 1 as it was in start now I play with no problem

    I had same problem, downloaded from a number of the mirrored sites (gamershell, fileplanet, filefront )and the direct download, all had the same corrupt data4 when trying to extract using winrar and zip7.

    The file from "Onrpg" is the only one that seems to work, it has a different title as well, it ends with .exe not. .zip. So after 24hrs of downloading am finaly playing

    The other suggestion to replace the Data4 corrupt zip also works as previously posted by downloading that file only from fileplanet (check prev posts for link)

    I have 2 comps to install on so that why i know both these methods work

    i'm having the same problem but with data pack 3. :( is it possible to have that uploaded onto filefront as well?

    Heads up, we have been downloading, downloading, testing, testing, all day.

    The only confirmed, downloaded, extracted, installed, patched successfully and can get in game successfully download source so far has been:

    You have to sign up, and it gives you two files to download. It gives you Part 1 and Part 2. After the extraction (WinRAR or 7 Zip), put the Part 2 files (datapak3 and datapak4) into the part 1 directory then run the install.

    This may not be the steps exactly, as I am relaying the message from one of the crew but it should help you all.

    The problem seems that some of the sources have only put up half the install files in one zip for some reason, and we are still trying to figure out the corruption, lost packets issues.

    Login and nothing shows up

    After I click Start on the launcher I have to click Next immediately, if I don't the login interface doesn't show up. Once I typed in my user name and password nothing happens.

    i am able to patch and run the game however after i select my char. It start loading but after it finish loading, it dc me and one error message came out.

    What can i do?

    there are only 2 servers avalible now... lost city pvp and etherblade pvp

    i cant see which server you are logging into on that video *please note that you are also exposing your account info in it* so please recheck that part. because i dont see anything wrong with your system configuration.

    This is the fourth time I'll be downloading it. I extracted it and the data packs were not a problem anymore, but I had over 40 broken files. If anyone wants a list I'll have to run it again and tell ya, but I'm starting to give up.

    same problem dude. installed the game, made sure to verify all files integrity before install of course. installed just fine, updated and everything. looked to be going alright, then when i click 'Start' i get this:

    :confused: i dont know if downloading from Filefront.com has anything to do with it, im sure it doesn't. i've tried the going to game folder and removing the element.data and tasks.data, still doesn't work. tried w/out removing still get the same message, tried with removing element, put element back and tried it removing tasks, still nothing. :( i added PW to my security exceptions list. i make sure to right click the icon for the game and click 'Run As Admin' and still i get the same message... im running on Vista btw, idk if that has anything to do with it either. oh and i made sure to click verify from the update client as well, EVERYTHING checks out ok! and still nothing! has anyone else gotten a message like this? or can help me in some way? if the servers are down and thats why im getting this message ill gladly wait, but this is really pissing me off. thnx in advance ;)

    everytime i try to install pw international, it over writes over the original game client...what do I do...???

    do you have the MY client installed or something? if you do you should uninstall. or any other version for that matter, uninstall any previous PW clent you have. and make sure to delete the Perfect World folder from your program files when you're done uninstalling

    Hey Everyone,

    Today I tested the Direct Download link multiple times, downloaded the Download Manager, ran it, downloaded the game, it extracted fine, I installed it, patched it, and got in game successfully. 7 Zip and WinRAR are both on the computer already.

    Don't have any other client installed of PW on your computer. If you do, we can't really help you, as we only support the PWI client, with our servers.
    Grabbing a client of Perfect World from anywhere else on the internet besides the links on our download page, you are on your own, as it is most likely a client from another company that has licensed the game from the Chinese main company of Perfect World (www.pwrd.com). Or, you have an illegal private server version that can really mess your PC up because of the things those providers can sneak into the .exe when you install, patch, etc; through thier software or servers.


    Some of the following are my own personal opinions, and may not be officially supported by PWE in any way, shape or form and do not represent their views or recommendations per se.

    Here's what I did to solve some common issues.

    For login issues, and you know your user name and password works correctly on the forums, but not in the game, try using the ORIGINAL PASSWORD that you had when you originally created the forum account. Hopefully you remember it.

    Now, use that password and username to get into the game. Create a character, get in the game world. Move around some, check some stuff out. Log out, exit the game completely.

    Go back to the forums, change you password from what ever you had it before to a new password. It has to be new, not the same one typed back in.

    Browse a few threads, then exit the forums/your account. Log back in to the forums to make sure your new password works.

    Now, boot the game back up and attempt to login with the same user name and your new password. You should be able to get back in the game.

    When you are using the Direct Download app, you should have a broadband connection. IMHO, at least 500k sec, especially when the patcher starts running.

    Do not have any other programs running when you are downloading the game, and especially while it is patching.

    Make sure you meet the system requirements. PLEASE!? :D

    If you are attempting to play the game with a laptop, getting the latest drivers for all of the hardware on your laptop may not be good enough. Go to your laptop's manufacturers website and see if they have updates specifically for your chipset for your computer.

    If you are using a really low budget PC, or $500 or cheaper laptop, even with a nice video card, sound card and extra RAM, your motherboard or integrated features (like sound or graphics) may make things difficult on you anyways.

    Some users have found that rolling back your video drivers for some video cards have helped them. I think some users on here mentioned ATI problems.

    Turning the water and some of the shadow or lighting settings down can help the game run a lot better on your PC, even if you think you have the latest and greatest, sometimes everything doesn't always talk to each other very well, or at all. Turn all the settings to the lowest first and try them out. Move some of them up until you have problems. This is common knowledge for hardcore PC gamers. Welcome to PC gaming.

    If you are trying to access PWI with a 56k modem, don't. It is not going to work. So stop asking why isn't it working. It is not really supported. Most 3d MMOs aren't going to work on 56k, if any. There is too much data, and too many updates that have to come in and be sent out so your gameplay experience will be the way it is suppose to be. It is especially not going to work if you are overseas.

    The servers are in the US for PWI. (some PWI servers MAY be in China, I haven't confirmed this yet) Please take that into consideration.

    Various countries, schools, ISPs (internet service providers, how you access the internet), cities, businesses, etc; have been known to block or throttle (restrict bandwidth) to keep people from using their services in that way. We can not help you if you have a terrible internet provider other then to suggest that you go to a better one if you can.

    Please search the forums, the FAQs, and the Support pages FIRST before emailing issues to Customer Support or Tech Support for your issues. Searching the forums first, and posting, may get you the answers you are looking for first, because there are many community members, and only so many of us Mods, Admins, GM, etc. This community rocks, we know it, and you should know it too ;)

    Yes, some download links didn't work very well for some people. We do not have control over how the other websites host or allow downloads to be accessed from their websites. We aren't saying it is their fault, or ours. Things like this happen, and you have to work out the kinks. Some additional reasons are that these host websites may be blocked or throttled by your ISP, country, etc; or somewhere else along the chain as that data goes from one place to another.

    Make sure you are diligent about keeping spyware, malware, and virii (viruses) off your computer.

    We do not support any other clients of Perfect World, other then Perfect World International. Yes, we have awesome support and community (thankfully - much love!!), but this is for PWE's games. The first of which is PW. So stop asking us about problems you are having with other servers, clients that basically we have no control over. I would immensely appreciate it, and so would everyone else. It would open up some bandwidth so we can work on more important issues.

    I hope this post helps some of you. Thank you to everyone who has been patient. :)
