Me too, maybe a few years after you though. I started in '77 with original D&D and Blackmoor (which I still have). Veteran of Tunnels and Trolls and Bunnies and Burrrows too.
I have this issue too. I am a CO lifer and created a Cryptic account for that years ago when the game launched, I had to create a new PWE account but I used the same email address I used for my Cryptic account. Now my login name, forum name and in-game name are all completely different. I had the worst headache trying to…
As others have said, as the world has changed, and Neverwinter Online is based on the latest history, I would get the 4E books (as much as it pains me to say it). Just use the books for the lore though.
I would recommend getting hold of some of the RPG books. They give incredible detail on the Forgotten Realms setting. eBay has loads http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/D-D-FORGOTTEN-REALMS-BOOKS-HB-D20-3-5E-3E-WOTC-MULTILISTING-DUNGEONS-DRAGONS-/380514824130?pt=UK_Toys_RolePlaying_RL&var=&hash=item5898736fc2
I understand where you are coming from. I don't loathe 4ed D&D because it is too simple, I dislike it because it is too 'arcade'. I grew up playing the original white boxed basic D&D released in 1974 and that was a very simple system. I strongly disagree with you (but that doesn't mean you are wrong, just that I disagree…
I love the Elder Scrolls games and the graphics (on my computer at least) are incredible. I would be very interested in seeing how ESO pans out and maybe getting into the Beta. The modding community for TES franchise is great too so I wonder if they will bring out a 'Foundry' style affair. The difference for me is that I…
Funnily enough, with regards to chat channels, I have made some suggestions on this issue in my post in the stickied RP thread in the Feedback forums HERE
I get what you're saying and I totally agree with you but there is no way PWE could penalise a player for choosing one deity over another (with regards to smiting, to use your example). Think about it, someone new to the world setting would have no idea about each deity's powers over and above what they read in the small…
I'm similar If you would be happy to accept critical and constructive feedback once your quest goes live, then I would be glad to provide spelling and grammar corrections to you. I'm sure there would be a lot of others willing to do so too.
Sominator, Is there any way I can get into the list of hopefuls for the Foundry Beta please? I realise there was a survey on the forums but unfortunately due to work commitments I only saw it after the deadlines had passed.
On the forums, go to User CP > Permission Groups > click the radial button for Hero of the North. Mounts/pets etc from Founder/Guardian Pack were not in the Beta.
I've always hated achievements. To me, it smacks of desperately trying to get players to stay in the game to get. That. One. Last. Achievement... Unfortunately, I am in the minority here it seems. This is fine, I shall ignore them, pretty much like i've done in every other game i've played that has them.
Lots of great feedback in this thread and the others I have read. I am so stoked by the Foundry and i reckon I will spend quite a bit of time creating content. I love the idea of choice based missions. I ran a successful FR tabletop game for well over ten years and the party formed a guild after a couple of years as a…
It would be nice if they could add deity powers attainable at each ten levels. So first one at level ten, then twenty etc. Maybe they could have one offensive power, one defensive power and one utility power. That way they wouldn't need to implement one for each class but they would need to tweak them for each deity to…
As I posted in another thread, it would be very cool if the orb graphics could be replaced with something akin to an ioun Stone with maybe different shapes obtained as the Mage levels, or quests to find a different shape Orb etc. I was always a big fan of Ioun Stones in my tabletop game and would love them implemented here.
I notived that about the Orb too. Different colours or effects or even shapes would be nice (think of the old Ioun Stones shapes). In fact, make them Ioun Stones. That would be very cool. I always loved having one or more of those flying round my head as my Wizard.
I agree on the Ray of Frost. I had to check to see if it slowed the mob at all and i'm pretty sure if it did, it was very minimal at best. A one second root is far too little too. Maybe two or three seconds would be better.
I'd also like this. I used to be a content creator for NWN and missed out on the Foundry beta access survey. So being able to get into the Foundry beta would be enormously beneficial to me to get me ready for launch.
I always loathed it. I'm an old school D&D player and RPGA member who started with Basic in the 70s and went on to AD&D first edition. D&D was dead to me after Wizards of the Coast took over although I have been roped into some 3.5 games. I have a copy of Pathfinder and actually it isn't too bad, all things considered.…
They have a different price point in Europe. I live in the UK and it's 189 Euros which equals 164 GBP in real money (which equals 245 USD so nearly 50 USD more for us). The conversion from 200USD to GBP is 132 GBP so we end up paying approx 30 GBP more. That's one HELL of a difference.
