Excuse the title, not sure what happened.

Hi guys, let me start of by saying that I don't mind spending the cash to support a game I will be playing for many hours to come. A slight issue though.
When I go to purchase the pack, paypal is looking for €189. This seems a bit of a strange conversion.

Mr.Google tells me that $200 is €153

Have other european users payed €189 for the pack or is something wrong

Regards,
Gav

Yeah I see your point. That's like 240ish.

I think there is VAT or something like that. All Europeans are paying higher. That is what I have seen on the forum anyways.

They have a different price point in Europe. I live in the UK and it's 189 Euros which equals 164 GBP in real money (which equals 245 USD so nearly 50 USD more for us). The conversion from 200USD to GBP is 132 GBP so we end up paying approx 30 GBP more.

That's one HELL of a difference.

Taxes in Europe seem to suck. I purchased a game once and for some reason was charged in Euros(instead of USD) and ended up paying close to 40 Euros too much. I had to jump through legal hoops, emails, faxes and even a phone call to eventually get the tax(which was apparently automatically included in the price) refunded. It was incredibly frustrating to prove over and over to various people that I was not a citizen of the EU. The refund turned out to be almost exactly the overcharged amount. Unfortunately, companies seem to be legally compelled to charge this tax, so we really can't blame them(too much). I was still rather upset by the effort it took to get the money back.

Thanks for the info guys. I had maybe thought it was Paypal taking a huge cut but im not sure if that's worse than the taxes =D
