I am actually surprised at the response I've got... And 99% of the responding posters hit the nail on the head with the the core problems of the GWF's mechanics.
Obviously that was part of my complaint, PART of it. The rest has to do with overall uselessness of a GWF in a group, dungeon, or PvP now. But thank you for contributing to the thread.
They updated the Launcher to start downloading the next big patch, each time beforehand so you can log in and play once it goes live - and so they can update things on the fly. It's been like this since the game went "Live".
That's exactly what this is... it's WoW operating procedure - Add new expansion, require 'new, more powerful gear' - that way you have to sink more money into the game.
Actually, you can log into the Preview shard and see that there will be 4+ new enchantments and special tene-like things to come with the Feywild. Some of them are looking like they will be more OP than the tenes.
Why does everyone say "It will be nerfed"? With Health and Regen gear, the mechanic is no different than anything else. We are literally doing what everyone else is doing, not relying on a bug or glitch, and stacking gear that no one else is wanting. That and we are hitting different softcaps than the Crit/Recovery/Power…
It's mind boggling that people will send me private messages saying I'm OP in PvP... when all they did was stand there and let me beat on them. CWs are the worst about that. It's beyond the "Learn to play" retort and more like "Learn to Dodge Idiots". GWFs are not tough to beat, if you dodge and use CC abilities. I also do…
I for one, do not use Student of the Sword. Every time you use Restoring Strike it lowers your defense by 15% - which is a lot for someone with high defense.
Here's the build I use. I actually went with a Human, did 2 stats in Strength initially - then did full CON & DEX at every stat increase (22/19/19). I use a mix of Titan's Gear & Vigilant Warlord's sets. And my Life Steal is sitting around 1297 with a Greater Lifedrinker enchantment on my Greatsword. I am nearly unkillable…
Someone that spent a few hundred dollars exchanging them out for Astral Diamonds... No one playing for free will have 1, let alone 7. What's the point of asking for a good Sentinel build if you can just buy that many tenes? Just pump more money into +HP items and be done with it - then add points into every Sentinel feat.…
I personally would love to see a screenshot of your armor if those are your stats... I'd be interested in seeing how exactly you got your stats there - including/not-including your Stone of Allure. If you'd rather, PM me and we can talk. But I would really like to see this gear set up.
Poor current state? I've had no problem with being a Sentinel specced GWF - in fact, I went from playing DC every day to really enjoying the GWF because of the Sentinel tree.
There is a great write up of what ArmPen you need depending on your Attributes. They have added it to our base stats, so before you stack too much, check this link out: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?358391-Con-(GWF)-and-Dex-(GF)-are-now-addative-to-Armor-Penetration
Here's mine. Not a very good picture, but at the moment it will do. Full Miracle Healer's Set with the Ancient Symbol & Icon. I used the Winter dye set with Blacks & Blues as accents.
They actually have something built it... http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?83951-Demo-Recording-AKA-how-to-make-awesome-videos-screenshots
I played with this build in a dungeon today, fully expecting a few wipes... I was shocked to say, with some skill on the clerics part and some skill on your parties' part - I was shocked we did 2 T2 dungeons... Granted, I am almost maxed on my gear (12K+) but I wasn't having the easiest time playing with PUGs before the…
