I don't think role-play instances would work. For any instance to be for role-play and nothing else would require active moderation and enforcement, as one can be sure that some will go to those instances and attempt to disrupt the role-play. I doubt that Cryptic has the resources to provide that moderation and enforcement.
The whole transformation of Dorothea bit is pretty inconsistent. For Josef, one could argue his transformation is more extreme due to the wizard forcing it as opposed to the way other plaguechanged are transformed. They do mention him going on missions, including suicidal ones, but I imagine even members of Scar Company…
It is to encourage those that already have to HotN panther to get the other one. If they had exactly the same utility, those that own the HotN would have little incentive to get the new one.
For many people, that's what life is. Suffering until they die. And yet so many in that position cling to life at any cost, despite living in a state that would crush those with weaker will and determination. It's not the path a whiny wimp would normally choose to walk along. It seems in this particular fictional instance…
I like the Linkletter quests because they offer some sense of continuity that wasn't much present elsewhere, until the Dread Ring starts trying to tie your previous actions into more of a whole as opposed to a series of discrete events. It gave me the chance to see just what happened to some of the people I helped out…
They are bound to account, so having alts to pray works just fine for personal use. It does prevent having armies of alts selling them on the AH, which is fine with me, as such could be abused by outside interests seeking illegitimate profit from the game. I'm not blessed with perfect enchants, stones, and artifacts on all…
I look at that as part of the cost of having a much more certain victory, so that one has a better chance of continuing the game so that leveling companions can continue to benefit from ongoing play. That's what I use my Rank 30 Dire Wolf for on the character I've been giving SCA a go with. He is my pinch hitter so to…
So, you need the best to do the best. How is that surprising to anyone? That's generally how MMOs work, and this is a mini-game directly attached to an MMO. The thing is, many people don't need to have the best and do the best to have fun. Just as one can have fun in the main game without top of the line gear, enchants,…
How would this possibly make sense. Since when do emissions of divine and magical energy, and arrows shot from a bow, have kickback. If anything, some melee weapon users should be facing more difficulties due to the momentum of weapon swings when on ice. In any case, so far as I recall, melee classes have some pretty good…
This is an excellent idea that would allow for a great deal of character customization for the sake of appearance or for role-play with absolutely no negative affect on the game play itself. The animated attacks with no damage, accompanied by the sounds, would add a lot of flavour and the damage immunity would keep it…
I can see the transmutation working on Ioun Stones. Their rotation animation could just be swapped out to match the movement and idle animations of whatever is being put on top of it, and the sound bites could play as normal. It would probably be pretty hard to try to swap any of the abilities requiring the companion to…
It is a simple answer, and a good one, if one wants to have to be in the game to get crafting resources. I don't use Gateway for crafting myself, so it would work for me. However, she does a good deal of her crafting in Gateway. Having to collect resources in game would kind of be a kick in the shins to that. I suppose…
If you know what you want isn't in a mini-dungeon you have access to yet, it's worth saving up your keys. Otherwise, it's just a matter of preference as to whether you like doing a bunch of runs at once or one at a time.
Perhaps he does not yet have Threatening Rush. If that is the case, his mobility will be somewhat limited on the ice compared to a GF that has access to it.
No thanks. One of the very appealing parts to me, and the one I play with most, of the profession system in this game is not having to run around competing with others for materials in make work fashion. It works for this event as it involves an optional activity not all that tied to any other, that one can do for a change…
I can't say much about this one, as the one character I tried it with became a victim of the 'crash and now your character is locked' bug. If you get on the ice, the movement mechanics add a new wrinkle to the fight. It can be fun to mess around with that. I'm guessing, with this being a game and all, that they want to…
I expect that the desire to get Moon Elves outside of the pack is more related to role-play reasons than anything else, as I would argue that the Sun Elf one can get for free has a marginally better racial bonus for most classes. However, to role-players, stat differences often pale in comparison to the subjective value of…
They didn't generally state that at all. They did promise that they would release another version of Drow after 60 days from release, which they did. So far as I know, Moon Elves are strictly for those that bought the pack.
Until things are fixed, would it be possible to bounce the characters stuck in the Dread Ring out of that zone, so that they could be played in other areas of the game?
Perhaps then that part of the video was intended to hint at the eventual release of Scourge Warlocks. It is often rumoured that Warlocks will be out sooner rather than later.
Why wouldn't they do it? For profit companies seek profit. If they didn't think they could profit from the game it wouldn't exist. Items related to improving enhancements and stones have always been for sale. This is nothing new.
That would fit well with the opening video, where the wizard is fiddling around with a sword for some reason. It could be explained by having that be his replacement for an orb.
It would be nice if trade bars were account bound. In the mean time, I figured out pretty quick to open all my boxes on the same character, so that the bars would accumulate on him, and he could shop for alts as needed.
