We're not likely to see Arcane Archer, that was a 3.5 elf prestige class, not a paragon path for rangers in 4th ed. It's also just archery, not blades.
You say its good for pve, which is my focus, but the tenacity stat is for pvp only right? Is it on a piece of gear that we can leave out? Otherwise it seems we're loosing something. I agree those stats would be amazing and exactly what I'd look for, but the tenacity seems like wasted points for pve. I'm just wondering what…
 Maybe it's supposed to grow on you... like fungus >_> Or it would look better with a different helm and color job? It looks like a beggar found all the strips of cloth and leather he could and decided to be a ranger.
Fair enough, I thought you had something specific in mind. So far I'm doing that and not really seeing any swords though. I'm currently crafting Blades +3 to see how they look. Then I'll check out manticore blades I suppose.
I can't understand why someone would not use the other stance. I call myself a melee HR simply because that's what I build for and favor when the situation can go for either stance. I've seen HRs just do archery, but none that just did melee. Granted I'm only lvl 45, I just may not have seen enough yet. Having 6 encounters…
I'd kind of like to see the main hand hold the blade point up, and the off hand point down. It would be showing that they could attack of defend (deflect) at any time. An offensive/defensive stance. It makes sense for the smaller knives, but personally I want real swords. My Rangers always dual wielded ******* swords.
I think its better that way. It means people can focus on talking about what they know from experience, and lets others cover the areas they don't. That way, with all the examples we're getting of different playstyles and the thoughts behind them, the Dev's can get a clearer picture of the different facets of the class,…
I've just recently come back to the game to play this class, and most of my experience comes from playing the hell out of a TR with the original paragon path. I agree with much of the op's statements, and I'm very melee focused when it comes to building, but to go into more detail: Visuals: I haven't seen the variety the…
Actually picked up those blades tonight for pretty cheap. The length and style is fine by me, though I'm still hoping there are other more sword like weapons out there to appearance change into. Most of the ranger blades look pretty crude to me, at least of those I've seen so far. Stat wise though, these things are great :D
1. Dragonborn, Shifter, Githzerai, Wilden, Deva 2. Mostly PVE, with foundry a second 3. They're very important, and I think our current tools are pretty good. I would like to see guild instances using the foundry as the most important thing that can be done for guilds. 4. Two Weapon Ranger, Bard, Warlord, Swordmage, Monk…
A dragonborn something or other, just to get them into the setting even if they're not going to be a pc race for awhile. I would like our companions to be nothing more than stats and a class/skill type and it let us create their visuals, at least with those companions that are also pc races.
In pnp, rogues can make great archers, probably with some variant of the crossbow. They can be pretty popular builds and tend to be the hidden sniper type. If the devs were to bring out another type of rogue, I think it would make a very interesting option.
Three encounters (4 if a CW) two At-Wills, 2 dailies 2 passive skills and your tab skill. I'd say you have to be more skilled to be able to work with less tools at any given point. And if you've gotten to level 20 you know full well you don't have to use the same four skills all the way to 60.
